It's was only on ps2 and PsP unfortunately, there's port for PC made by fans btw.

There's no doubt at all that Vic Vance is much better than Tommy In fact, if Vic would have never died in the first game. Tommy wouldn't have stood a chance to take over vice City 💯

Fun Fact: Victor Vance is the first ever gta character that can do grapple attacks
I think Only GTA Character coz’ I Don’t think any other characters can do Grapple attacks (except for CJ’s New Fighting styles which are just for punching not holding or dragging NPC)
As i know, the street fighting style of CJ u can learn in Las Venturas can do grapple attacks
@@diegocagna8809But the neck snapping attack is unique to this game. It's so much fun snapping the necks of Police officers and it remained as a stealth mechanic from SA(instead of the suppressed pistol and knife).
Also the only gta game, RDR2 also had this tho so gta 6 will have it as well

Vice City Stories has probably the best licensed soundtrack out of any game/movie/show in existence.
It's great but I think the original Vice City OST is a lot better and has even better songs, such as Michael Jackson, Iron Maiden, even more famous songs

You can also break necks when sneaking up npcs from behind in vice city stories. Absolutely brutal game

In my opinion, that sunset feel from vice city stories is a pure definition of vice city. It has those vibes in it tbh. I can spend my time looking at those shades though it is a game

@@blackspeed6969 The dev are not to eb blamed with, Grove Street Games is who to be blamed, & R* for refusing to put focus on these remasters, They probably can improve it better than just textures and graphics, But didn't fix the bugs, Didn't think of improving them to even better
@@TheSavageFactual To be fair, it's mostly TakeTwo and R*'s fault for making GSG remaster the games, since GSG has only 20 workers.

GTA Vice City Stories was super underrated being last game in 3D universe it introduced so many new features like empires building ,improved melee combat ,new type of weapons and vehicle , the storyline and characters were also well written
But being exclusive to PSP/PS2 the graphics has aged very poorly i wish Rockstar games make a proper remaster of this game and Liberty City Stories both of them are forgotten GTA games
Eh, the lighting of VCS is pretty good and makes me forget about the character models and animations. Besides, they have a certain "charm" similar to other 3D Uni games
yeah sad it came at the end of psp and ps2 life cycle , LCS despite being inferior in features and story was more successful, it sold 8 million copies in PSP alone, the best selling psp game ever, VCS had half of that, just shows what a difference a single year gap 2005-2006 can make!

If you play it on a real PSP the when its night or there is a sunset it still looks gorgeous.
@@Gonzas97i would love a remaster for lcs and vcs why not? Vc 3 and sa got remastered and if im not wrong isnt vc and 3 older? Should be able to at least tweak the controls and up the graphics a bit.
What I recommend is to compare the PS2 versions of both games. The PC version of VC is missing the trails which is what gave it its warm atmosphere
True but it's not as great as VCS sunset and sunrise. Rockstar Leeds nailed the evening atmosphere and has that purple tone to it in the night.

@@pooler57 I don't think VC is better at night. Sure it has better quality but VCS neons are much better. The neons were so amazing in VCS that people started making mods adding the Vice City Stories neons to the original VC and even San Andreas.
@@spiderman4538 I’m talking about the sky and weather rather than the neons. VC is darker which is more realistic and the sky color goes with the ground color better

Some of the character animations in VCS look very similar to SA
GTASA, GTALCS, & GTAVCS, are basically same games, Just one of them is a lot more advanced which is GTASA obviously
@@TheSavageFactualThey aren't same games. LCS is built on Vice City's engine while VCS uses next version of Renderware after GTA SA. That's why VCS offers more features than GTA SA but obviously cuts others because they didn't fit in Vice City and limitations of PSP console of that time.

Yeah. i also recognised cjs swimming animation and the shotgun firing animation. His character body model also looks like any other San Andreas character model

Normally, Tommy can hit pedestrians who are on the ground. You simply have a censored version (sold in Europe or Australia)
VCs is an helicopter paradise. you can literally find helicopters anywhere in the game(After you unlock the other part of the island)

I'd like to correct some moments :)
Victor can't swim indefinitely until he completes Beach Patrol missions. Until that he has limited stamina and when he is out of it, Victor will lose his grip on water and will drown like Tommy;
Both Tommy and Victor do receive fall damage, but it is substantially decreased compared to GTA 3 or GTA SA;
Tommy, while having only one button to commence his attacks, he actually can attack his enemies with different attacks depending on the their direction (for example, Tommy will punch and kick those who in front of him, or headbutt them on his right, or punch with his elbow on his left)
In a way that is realistic in real life at some point you will get tired and you will not be able to stay afloat

@@weskerkings651 not really correct. As far as I can remember, you actually can get from Mainland to Leaf Links by swimming under the corresponding bridge. You can climb onto platforms under the bridge to replenish stamina. No. There is other thing that keeps you from swimming across water to "Eastern Vice City" - when you reach a middle point, suddenly a strong current will flush you away back to the place you came from, and it's strong enough to keep you away.

10 years ago i bought a psp and gta vice city stories to pass my free time while serving in the army. I couldnt believe that im playing a 3d open world game in the palm of my hand. 10 years later, im playing gta v on high graphics on my steam deck...just unbelievable how technology changes...
i remember the crazy sunset of VCS, the orange was so strong that the water looked like lava.

Yup, those sunsets bring back vivid memories of "Wouldn't It Be Good" by Nik Kershaw or "I'm In Love With a German Film Star" by The Passions blaring on the radio as I sped down the Links Bridge in a Sentinel XS.
Great times. 2006 was a fantastic year and this game deserves more love, especially for its soundtrack.
The last mission on vice city stories just pure mind-blowing. 3 central character fight to death in the rooftop.

And he can punch (the kidneys) from behind while holding the neck.
In GTA VCS fighting mechanics, you missed the part when you can grab someone from behind by tapping triangle, and a) relentlessly kicking him with a tap of the circle or b) snap their neck with a tap of the triangle again. That’s how I constantly killed the Mendezes in every mission replay.

San Andreas has the most impressive combat out of all GTA games because you can learn 3 different styles, Boxing, Kung Fu, Muay Thai.

Given that Vice City was for Home Consoles and Desktop, and Vice City Stories I Think was for Portable Consoles. the Latter is really quite Impressive for the time
You should compare PS2 Vice City vs PS2 Vice City Stories, that would be the most accurate comparison.

A nice compilation of the features differences but yeah both games has their great things but VCS was way better.
One thing that you forgot to mention of the features that has VCS over VC and even ALL the previous GTA games which I absolutely loved was the enhanced side jobs (or "R3 Missions") in which now has checkpoints in the levels (by each 5 levels completed you get a checkpoint) and the Taxi job was fantastic since added a new variety of passengers in which there is the traditional: "Go from point A to point B", but now there are the passengers that asks you for chase a vehicle, escape from the police, help it in a robbery or a double travel (go from point A to point B and then take it to point C).
Both GTA LCS and VCS have most major upgrades based of GTA SA but still retained some VC elements like the roll after falling

I think people dont realize but GTA VCS is based on GTA SA engine. Even animations and effects are the same

Most funny than not seeing Tommy swimming and just drowning, is Vice City manual stating that's because sharks attacks. The excuse for Gta III was because the waters of Liberty City were toxic. I just hope that the invisible shark attacks are corrected on GTA VI

Bro Gta VCS was the first gta game i played on PS2 back then but damn i was expecting it to make comeback on PC in the Remaster but turns out i was wrong but i did like VCS more than the other one though

For the price they charged for the "defective" edition I was expecting them to unite all 3 maps and put in all missions from all 5 games.

I miss playing GTA: Vice City Stories; it was my first GTA game and remains my favorite to this day. I admire Vic Vance's character because he was nice to his friends and family. I still look up to his character because, unlike other psycho characters we see in GTA, he wasn't like that. He was genuinely nice.

Tommy can kick someone while on the ground. The fact he couldn't in this video means there was a glitch. He can still kick someone while they're down. But he only has a few punches and kicks in a fight

Bro at least do a fair comparison. You've used PSP version of GTA VCS and PC version of VC. The PS2 version of GTA VCS is a lot better, even better than GTA VC.
Since GTA 6 does so happen to be based in Vice City or so I've heard, they better have some references to GTA VCS, I know they're gonna put some easter eggs related to GTA VC but come one VCS needs some love as well. They already did with one of the casino games for GTA online.
It's rumored that it will have a female protagonist, so maybe we'll get to play as Mary-Beth Williams (if the action takes place in 2024, she should be in her 40s).
Tommy can attack NPCs on the ground if he has a melee weapon such as a golf club, If he has one then he will swing like he's teeing off.
Vice City Stories uses GTA San Andreas game base and Liberty City Stories uses GTA Vice City game base
The combat system in gta vcs is absolutely awesome... even better than GTA 4 in my opinion

I just wish they fixed the cars disappearing from garage bug on the PSP versions.
It's fine on the PS2 ones, but this bug is very annoying on PSP since that car you took pains to get will just go poof when you save and reload

SA doesn't have Empire buildings which is the only thing I can think of that VCS has over it. Empires in SA would have sent the replay value of that game through the roof

a little attention in detail in vcs is a missing building. since vcs took place two years before vc, some building appear to be missing or still under construction

VCS was limited by PSP hardware but it still looked good for it's time
And Rockstar never bothered to port them to PC
Definitive Edition had the advantage of running on modern game engine and more powerful consoles and still performed so poorly with tons of bugs and glitches
Vice City Stories also has a fire and an ambulance helicopter, pretty crazy

2:20 Wrong. Apart from the fact that your version is crearly broken (Tommy CAN kick NPCs on the ground), he has way more fighting animations depending on the direction of the NPCs he's engaging. If they are in his back, Tommy can kick backwards. If they are at his sides, he kicks sideways or elbow stirkes them. If they are in the front sides, he can knee kick or headbutt 'em. This is more easy to see if you move the direction away from the NPCs he's fighting and keep pressing the attack button. Or if Tommy engages a large group of enemies and gets surrounded by them.

I have played both vice city and vice city stories, but according to me Gta Vice city stories is much better than vice city because of Graphics ❤❤❤ and of course Tommy can't swim but victor vance can swim
