Man...this was hard to watch. RIP Chester. I was one of the audio engineers who was working Chester’s memorial/benefit show in Irvine, CA. When they played this song, instead of having a guest singer do Chester’s part for this song...they had a mic stand at center stage, with a single spotlight on it, with the rest of the stage dark. No one sang his part except the audience. It’s bringing tears to my eyes just thinking about it right now. That’s all I could envision while watching this. It was a heavy, heavy show...filled with a lot of tearful hugs. I’m glad you reacted to it this way, my brother. I’m glad you got emotional. It shows a lot. Hold your loved ones close.

It’s almost a 3 hour show. “In the End” is around the 2 hour 14 min mark. I just had to watch it...gave me goosebumps hearing the crowd sing his part...crazy to be standing on the side of the stage for this whole show. Just sucks. It’s def emotional.

Yup, I had a unit get flooded with caustic soda from the neighbours upstairs putting the drano down with hot water & when you do that it hits the cold water sitting at the bottom of the drain so the water all came up. I got chemical burns all over me. Lost half my clothes, my cat died cos she drank it. I was with a guy a lot of my mates didn't like so no one wanted to put us up. Living in a car in the middle of Australian summer where it was over 100°f a lot of the time. Starving, the boredom, trying to get to shower & stuff. Ugh. Finally got a house in the end but that was months. I feel for people who don't even have a car to sleep in

When this song came out, I had just left my first husband. He was an abusive alcoholic and a meth addict (I didn't know about the meth until later). I was at a very low point in my life. I moved to Houston to get away from him and his family and try to start over. I had to leave my daughter with my mother and I moved to get my shit together. I worked my as off and my divorce was finalized. I moved back home with full custody of my daughter. I was a single mom for 10 years after that until my current husband and true soul mate came into my life. We've been together 12 years now and my ex- husband is currently in jail awaiting a court date for stabbing his girlfriend in the abdomen plus a possession charge... meth. My daughter is now almost 28 and I'm helping her with my two perfect grandbabies who will never know their real grandfather. In the end it doesn't even matter.

Mr. Video, others have told you and I will reiterate this, in a world full of UA-cam reaction video makers, you and 3 others always seem very original in your reactions. You however, stand alone and separated from them because all your reactions are legitimately real and HOW you react to the music (and sometimes the videos) is almost exactly how a lot of us felt when we first heard the songs you are hearing for the first time. On top of that, you are naturally one funny dude. I mean, most of your reactions straight up light up my day! Like so many others, I was crushed when the news came out about Chester. Chester so accurately described his lifelong battles w/depression. I think anyone who's been there, feels his lyrics even harder. If you haven't already, do "Crawling (One more light live)". - That specific performance is truly beautiful. Truly. Rest Easy Chester. The fact that you did Chris Cornell w/Audioslave on the same day - Not sure you know how close Chester & Chris were? Those two voices... Man, I miss them both. 😢

I haven't listened to a Linkin Park song in years, and listening to this song again is giving me goosebumps. This song takes me back to when I was an awkward teenager, and it reminds me of what I've gone through to get to who I am today.
Nostalgia, and a powerful song. It is an amazing mix.

Mike Shinoda is the rapper/singer for Linkin Park. Actually, he is multifaceted. I follow him on Twitch and he is always doing something interesting. Chester (R.I.P) is the singer/screamer. Together, they made the perfect duo IMHO. This is off of Hybrid Theory. Some people will argue, that Linkin Park lost their magic after Meteora. I say, that they just didn't learn to go with the flow. Chester had the voice of an angel, but could scream his ass off.
If you want to delve further into the world that is Linkin Park I have a few song suggestions
    Lying From You
Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer
    Waiting For The End
    Faint
Qwerty ( Summer Sonic Tokyo 2006)
    Given Up
    Bleed It Out

It's a beautifully done piece of music, even aside from any lyrical meaning. Mike Shinoda is one of the clearest rappers I've heard-not everyone can enunciate at speed like that, so it's easy to follow. Good delivery, too. Chester had such a haunting tone, from his musical scream to his soaring vocals, and the lyrics feel highly personal. It's such a loss.

Chester Bennington had an AMAZING voice -- could go from that searing anger to a soft melody in a heartbeat. He has amazing vocals on "What I've Done," which is probably my favorite LP song. We sadly lost him to mental illness a while ago, but there's a performance online of this song from the "One More Light" concert where the crowd sings his lines in his place.
