They don't need to replace any sirens. It's the radios that are the problem. And the WPS4004 is still produced, I don't know where you got that info from..
Its so sad we dont have ANY type of siren here in FL, Or at least in my area, Ive seen sirens in FL, but they are all in South FL, where its basically a hurricane magnet.
ThatTechDude With the ESC-2020 logic board/control panel, the tone is set for 450 Hz from Whelen. However, when a silent test is performed, the tone ‘glitches’ down to 435Hz, which is what this siren sounds at. It also ‘clips’, which makes it sound like the drivers click. The controller makes the clipping occur when the glitch happens. Whelen then tried to iron out both of these errors in the 2030, but only solved the clipping. The Logic boards are set for 560Hz, but sometimes the controller slips to 530Hz.
I think the slight wasp infestation could have something to do with that (like the nest blocking the drivers then coming out of the hole due to vibration), or could be something with the amplifiers
Ah yes, it did the good old driver killer tone
1:58 How it switched from Wail to Air Horn is hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I guess it's angry that it hasn't been fixed yet.
Well, at least it’s 3 minutes of my favorite tone.

The fade in is weird. I guess the speaker drivers are going out?

It's something that you can program the controller to do. It basically is a way to prevent the driver's from blowing too soon.
Your friend from a small community and your friend from Marion county
