Making Cooking Oil At Home
Вставка

- Many years ago I had a plan to grow thousands of sunflowers and then make my own cooking oil at home. With this new oil press, I can finally do just that. I have so far tried sunflower and safflower seeds with great success. The oil is fresh, healthy, and is great for frying or flavoring food. Next I will be trying to burn this homemade oil in an oil lamp!

This is a great help for me just starting on my oil pressing journery. Very well done. Thank you.
Awesome thing to have! Thanks for the link and the video!
really enjoyed the information, and the pressing of the seeds to make oil. have a great week end.
Really neat! Looking forward to your other pressings.
I would love to see how the olive oil works out.
This is fantastic.
Thanks for the share
You should also be able to ferment your pressed shell/byproduct stuff to increase the nutrition output before feeding it to your chickens (pigs would also really enjoy it, when you get back into them). Just throw it in a bucket/jar with some water and leave it for a few days until it gets good and bubbly and then feed it out.
Would this be good for goats straight or fermented please
really enjoyed your delivery of information, clean - clear and all the information I was looking for, thanks, well done.
One of the beautiful things about making your own oil is you never have to worry about the oil going rancid because you do not have to store the oil. Only store the seeds with which to make the oil.
God Bless Joe Scott Muddy Dog Ranch
Thanks for sharing. I think and and every seed you grow 😊and then hemp seed comes to mind or chia seed or maybe flaxseed. Your video was very encouraging and enjoyable. 😊thx again.
Thank you
Ive been following you’re family channel since my very first homestead
You taught me how to make vinegar back in umm 2018?
Well because of this video I went ahead and purchased my long awaited non toxic air fryer which I had been searching for because NOW I can make my own oils for flavor aroma and healthier oil for brushing on my foods in the air fryer
I purchased the Vevor upon your recommendation and I love it
So far I’ve done sunflower seeds and brown flax
Can’t wait to try more
Thank you Todd that was very interesting.🍁🍂🍁🦃💚🙃
That is very, very cool. 😮
WOW! I need one of those
I have a similar machine and i found that for sunflower, its better to press it cold than hot. Hitting works well with groundnuts or soybeans
Thanks. I was wondering how to make biodiesel to save money. Now I'm planting a lot of safflower.
2:10 This is very good detailing, thank you
In order to make Oilive Oil, u need a different kind of press. This one is only for seed type material.
That is wonderful! Maybe you can try avocado, sesame, ricebran, mustard, corriander seed, amaranth, the possibilities are endless 😁 Maybe you can grow camelia oleifera tree and make tea seed oil, it's similar to olive oil.
C 1-30 rollin down the strip
useful, thank you
❤
Very economical.
I absolutely appreciated this post and hope to begin the same, I was curious of the potential for making avocado oil from the large seeds, and suggestions on perhaps breaking down...besides a hammer since I would imagine in order to maintain the Vevor press that it would require certain seeds as though and large to be broken down?
Is there a book you can buy that tells you which seeds should be cold or hot pressed also at what temperature’s?
Can that machine produce oil from other products like soya beans
This is cool 😊😎. Do you make avocado 🥑 oil and if yes what machine do you use?
What is this machine called? Amazing
Good very good
As with the sunflowers, you need to choose an oil variety of any grain or bean.
How has that machine held up?
How does it taste?
Great, i really like it and wish to have one. How much is the cost?
What type sunflowers did you plant are there some varieties that produce more oil
How much would it cost to make one gallon of oil?
I bought a hand crank last year as part of my sustainability plan, and had the same idea about sunflowers 🌻 but not impressed with my press haha … would you consider showing us peanut oil? I am testing the oil rising method right now, but it takes 3 weeks to separate chopped peanuts from the oil in a cabinet (if it works). I ordered heirloom VA & TN peanuts for seed. I’ll be trying them in feed sacks next year!
What hand press did you buy?
@@Ebh1234 I couldn’t remember where on the internet I made this comment, but I’ve wanted to update it, so thank you. I tried the rising method for grinding peanuts and it’s been almost a year and not a drop of oil separated. As far as my oil press, I’ve tried it twice with sunflower seeds and didn’t heat it enough. I don’t think it was the best quality. Amazon has a seed oil press that’s been featured by youtubers but it’s like $150 ish. I’ve sense learned that seed oils aren’t great for us, so I’ve switched my focus to adding more tallow in my sustainability plan. Hope this helps.
Do you think you could make peanut oil with it? Or even cashews?
I watching you from Ethiopia and appreciate you thank you for sharing your experience. Please can I find the machine in anywhere in electronics stores?
Can l fried the seed on fire about 15mins before press?
Where do you buy the machine? Please provide me this information thank you
What is the ratio of pounds of seed to ounces of oil?
(Approx)
your links dont work anymore where can i buy one of these?
Where to buy this machine please?and what is the name
How do you get rid of the sunflower aroma
How to I clean the sunflower oil
How can one get this kitchen machine?
What does sunflower oil smell like?????
What type of machine are you using?. What is the name/ brand 🤔
Interesting
I have had a similar desire to grow my own oil! One thing you might try is Styrian pumpkins - their seeds don't need to be shelled and they grow well in a northern climate.
hello
Now I want to buy an oil press along with some of those weird flavored sunflower seeds. Dill Pickle flavored oil XD
How long are these stable for, compared to commercial oils, which are degummed & refined?
Not as long, and I keep it in the fridge
How much oil (volume) for a given amount (volume or mass) of sunflower seed?
cool
The residual can be mixed with corn in a posho mill and make flour no need to give it to chickens
What is the name of that device you use to make oil sir for research purposes in school
Please what is sawer seed
Almond oil is 👍 good
I need one of this. How can I get one? What is the cost involved? I want to go into small scale production of palm kernel oil
Check description
Awesome video! Thanks
Very cool! Wow those are a lot more affordable than I thought. Something to consider! Would be cool to grow sunflowers and then make your own oil from them! Interested to see/hear about other oils you make. Specially olive oil - my favorite oil lol. Thanks for sharing! 🤠
Hello Sir. It's pretty motivating. How much is the machine in dollars?
How many seeds / flowers do you need to maintain your cooking oil consumption?
Not sure yet, I am going to get a 50 bag of sunflowers and we will see how long that lasts
I have an industrial screw press sitting in my shop in MN. It’s yours if you want it. Just figure out how to get it moved. Weighs approximately 900 lbs. but will produce a lot of oil.
How much is it
What if you dry out the olives first and then try to get the oil. Just wondering.
I think if you dried or roasted olives or peanuts that might work but I haven’t tried it
Wow, the price is really low - like, so low I'd be skeptical about it if I hadn't seen you using it. On the one hand, something this inexpensive can't last very long, but on the other hand you could buy a second one for the price of replacement parts for some other models. Keep us posted on how it holds up for you!
This is wonderful. How much does it cost and how can I get one? I am in Kenya

It is good Where can i bye
What is the cost of the machine
Kindly tell me the name of the white seeds 3:28
Safflower
Wold work with coconut? Have you tried yet?
Have not tried that yet, in theory it should work but some things you have to dry in the oven first before processing
7:01 HOW MUCH GRAM DID YOU TOOK TO GET THAT MUCH OIL?
We only use olive oil.
coool man

How many sunflowers does it take to make enough oil for your family?
Would it do avocado oil? Or corn? Very cool! Texas Deb ❤️
I will try corn!
@@SSLFamilyDad Just a heads up, to make 1 litre of corn oil it takes roughly between 75 and 85lbs of corn depending on variety.
@@SSLFamilyDad I assume you'd have to pre-grind the corn?
Now you can fuel your tractor :)
whats the name of the machine?
It’s in the description of video, and link, too! ❤
Dont these oils oxidise in the body like metal
huh?
That's like a hogh-speed juicer
Date oil
Can you do corn in that machine?
Yes, but unless you're a corn producer it isn't worth it. A liter takes 75-85lbs of corn depending on variety.
Kindly I need that machine

U.S.A wants to have a talk with you sir
Appreciate your sharing
I’ve always wanted something similar
And I had no idea this model was so affordable
Making our own cooking oil would be a great step in the cycle of things on our homestead
Zero waste is my motto here
We have chickens
Worms
Goats
Gardens
WoW again thank you
You really should wash your seeds prior to this- you can still see grass in the bag! all of your oil is now infused with dirt
That’s really cool. Please don’t make Baby oil. Lol.
Why? All you need is olive oil, butter and lard. Those are the only cooking fats you need.
You do realize that fiberglass filtering sheets are unsafe because of microscopic shards getting into the oil, right?
Try and unbleached coffee filter next time
So what do you use instead
Soon I'll learn to make petrol to end poverty
Hope so, but almost certainly if you factor in the labor costs and equipment (including the machine cost)….it is way quicker and less expensive to buy the oils at Walmart. And if want to make your own for health reasons, should be aware that when heated to high cooking temps, sun flower oil produces aldehydes, a cancer risk agent.
Oil is not a food. It is a lubricant.
disgusting🤮
I save drippings from bacon.fat - something we all can do 😁
