- As much as we loved our short visit to Denmark, it was time to push on to Sweden and our first stop was Helsingborg. Helsingborg is known for its old town, home to the medieval Kärnan tower, the only surviving element of a fortress. Nearby is the Gothic Church of St. Mary, dating from the 1300s. Although we only spend a very short few hours exploring Helsingborg on foot, we found it to be a charming city with loads to offer. We opted to stay a few kilometers south of the city in the Råå marina parking which provided access to some great beaches and cycle paths.

I like the idea of these festivals though, if it means everyone goes there and avoids the historic sites (if you haven't guessed, this is pretty much my only interest in Europe; largely cos we don't have much of them in my country - tho plenty of beautiful nature) that Keep was pretty much deserted 👍👍

@@WeWillNomad I'd say I don't know why I can't walk past a lion statue without feeling I have to take photos but I think it must be because the house my family lived in till I was 3 (the house I have very few memories of) had 2 big lion statues in the front yard (that I have no recollection of but in photos we're climbing all over)
