Yes! Powerful words. I think pleasure can b very limited. It’s gonna come & go much quicker than peace. Peace is an overall feeling of, not having to worry about finances, being able to do what u wanna do, living nice & comfortable, being healthy, not being at odds with one another & just having all around comfort in the company you keep. It’s an added bonus if you’re rich & all those things fall in line as it seems to with Will & Jada.

mizzmini45 coz when one is at peace nothing else matters. It’s a bliss state. Pleasure is not near second to it even. Pleasure is a much to do with how hormones work in our body. And peace is more to do with living by the spirit within.

Folks enter marriages in broken states and they expect the other person to FIX them. That will never happen, because individuals are trying to fix themselves. We cannot look to others to make us happy, even in friendships we get on that trend of thought that our friend is suppose to fix us. It is those unfulfilled expectations that get us in trouble. Be happy with YOU and that happiness will spill over into the relationship. Celebrate each other with love and respect.

Well i know in my marriage we both can from broken homes. We brought the toxicity into our marriage. God had to separate us to work on us. Once we came to the conclusion that we didn't want to be apart, that we were better together, rather than apart. We made the proper adjustments to love and heal one another. True love concurs all♥️🧡💛🛐

About loving your kids and just watching them grow, and not trying to mould them in what you want.... it’s like the Carole King song... Sweet Child of Mine.... exactly. That’s how I try to raise my kids. Give them a beautiful garden, with enough sunshine and water and good soil.... and then watch them grow into what they were born to become.

@Fantastic View you're correct. Marriage is so disposable nowadays it's sad. A marriage more than a ring, cake or dress. You have to continue to work on yourself in order to bring the best of you to your mate. Constant communication is also key and keeping outside influences from your relationship.

Georgette Williams Some ppl hit eachother, some ppl become fat lazy and less romantic or rather work than spend time with you. Its not always the fault of the ones who want a divorce. Why stay in a loveless sexless marriage with a fat slob if you can do better? Im not saying divorce is a good thing but on the otherhand both ppl should be the best version of themselves everyday.

Powerful... Marriages are failing because a lot of people enter into it full of ideals and selfish ambitions... Marriage is service" ... is also self sacrificial...
Also most people do not understand that the singleness season ... is a preparatory and analytical time...of your needs... wants...emotions... vision... and desires.... most ppl do not question these ... they are constantly on the chase of someone to fix them... when they have to do it themselves.

Life changes everyday with time so as individuals we react and adapt differently . Even in a marriage !!! Me and my husband have gone through so much but not everything yet... we have supported one another not only as a partner but as a human being. Like if we were to support friends or even a stranger. Breaking or putting someone down for their mistakes or flaws only puts you down there with them. Love and compassion is the secret to peace and happiness in this world of hurt and struggles...

Thank you, Will Smith for the parenting advice. Take it from someone whose family for some reason always thought they had a say in everything I do. For the longest time, I went with it. Guess what? I made no fucking progress in life because I was living other people's lives. Add miserable to that list also. Some parents need to learn to let go and realize that their kids lives are not their lives. They have lived their lives and now, it's time for that human you bought into this world to discover themselves and learn how they can be the best person they can be. Two years ago, I left home. I wasn't working. Had no money. Didn't even have friends to turn to. Things at home had become too much to handle. I felt like I was suffocating. I went to a youth shelter and my life has never been better. It astounded me how a bunch of strangers could make me feel at home and till this day I can't get over the fact that strangers made me feel that way and not my family. Fast track to today, I ave never been more focused, more determined to make something out of my life. It is not the easiest thing but I keep pushing, because for the first time ever I am doing the things that I want to do without a bunch of people breathing down my neck and it feels awesome. I take it one day at a time.

I agree so much with what Will Smith says about marriage and relationships. At the age of 36 I've realized that! I wish I could find someone like Will to marry me. The person that I'm with now he gets nothing he's clueless about commitment.
You are so lucky Jada. And I know Will is lucky too. You guys are good together, you have found the key to a lifetime healthy relationship.

It sounds like you need to rethink your relationship or at least realize that what you EXPECT from him may never happen. Be the best that you can be and hopefully that will inspire him. We look at other people's lives and wish we had what they have, but we truly do not the struggles that they have gone through to get to where they are. Jada was NOT happy in their marriage for a long time (see their RED TABLE TALK - on Facebook). Will was demanding and he pictured this perfect life with this perfect family and that did not happen. So he had to ADJUST his mind frame and allow them to be who they were meant to be. Now that is MATURITY.

You have to remember he's an actor . That 17 years you don't even know him yet ; B.S , If you take your time and your them on a day to day basics you know in your heart who your with as a women and as a mother. Noticed he put it on her and not him. Some men don't even know what's your favorite flower let alone color. How do you make it last ? Respect and self control . To say they don't even say their married anymore ? Then what are they ? If you really truly and deeply love your mate you wouldn't hurt or disrespect nor say we don't say we're married anymore. I wonder who ; idea was that?

C T - And you know this as a fact how exactly? I’m assuming you’re close friends with both? But yes, either way their marriage/partnership, is on a different level and stable enough together to find what works best for them. That can only be accomplished through crazy mutual respect, full communication, trust, self awareness to know what they both want out of life as individuals but also aware enough to know what they both need in order to be satisfied within their marriage with each other. Dealing with fame on a large scale, raising children, facing public scrutiny and rumors, etc, etc. The fact that they’re even still happily and lovingly married after this many years is seriously impressive, never mind factoring in the average marriage length for celebs in “Hollywood” and it is beyond impressive all in its own. So, that leads me to conclude that they’re obviously doing something right??? Nah? 😉

Marriage is like a bead necklace. Some of those beads are beautiful, fun and are the reason you live to be in that relationship. And then others are full of stress and anger and disagreement. That’s with every single relationship. But the reason you want to keep that relationship is because you know those good beads are coming.

    • @bassinblue

That's not what marriage is. Yes moments of your lives can be fun, but if that's all you expect how you going to deal with her or him when a family member of them dies and they're grieving and not having fun. Life isn't supposed to be just one emotion.
