  • Sickle cell disease is a life-threatening blood disorder that primarily impacts Black and Brown patients across the globe. In recognition of World Sickle Cell Day, this presentation will discuss the disease, its limited treatments, and the intrinsic racism within our healthcare system that has limited clinical advances and stifled the care of our patients for decades.
This program is part of the Disability Education Series, a collaboration between the Maxwell & Eleanor Blum Patient and Family Learning Center and the Council on Disability Awareness at Mass General.
