When any local department changed out their handguns, they always sold the old guns to civilians. Three of my Glocks are former LEO guns.
Averages are skewed by outliers, having a few really short approvals make up for a lot of long waits and let's them claim they're close to their promised 90 day windows even when most dont see that.
3 members of my house have life time memberships to the NRA and they would not pay out on our stolen gun claims we lost 20 firearms, we had all the paperwork and receipts and they wouldnt pay the claim so they suck

ATF processing times are just a flux. I buy a suppressor every 3-months or so, Im up too 9-suppressors and each one of them took forever, the Forms 3's took forever, and the Form 4's took forever. Im still at 6+ months on 2 of them, all my other suppressors took 260+ days.
Something just occured to me, one way to reduce government size is to reduce the number of employees the government can hire, outside of the military! Put a cap number of total employees across all federal agencies!
Why outside the military? That's the most expensive part of government. But it's a moot point because no politician has any interest in shrinking government.

My last Form 4 was approved, digitally, in just two months after submitting it in 2021. It still took 14 more months before I was allowed to pick up my can as the gun shop needed the physical paperwork before they released it.

Background check law is federal law and it's territorial jurisdiction not subject matter so it's only applicable to Washington DC and it's possessions, Guam virgin islands Puerto Rico ECT..

And renewal is $125 + all the forms and application + another $100+ training course, or if you want a lifetime permit its $500, but you still have to submit a certificate of another $100+ training course every 5 years.

I wrote my state representative's office yesterday to inquire about the ATF's long delay (I'm at 4 months), we'll see if it works.
