Awesome skating and great tutorial Dale! I have been struggling with manuals for more than a year. I started skating with knee pain and I was very afraid to fall and pull my knee this is why I was standing too much at the back on the board. Yours is one of the best and in-depth explanations. I could manual on a BMX pretty long and I want to do so on a skateboard as well. In my opinion manuals are just as cool tricks as any flip trick, which are obviously harder, but manuals are beautiful as well

*just remember though* - everyone is different, so trying something else might work for you, this is just a general guideline to the basics. once you get something down enough, you might be doing something different and thats fine. everyone is different and has their own style for what works for them.

Daewon actually rides tight trucks in the back and loose trucks up front. I think this set up makes both regular and rose manuals easier, but I like my board to be backwards of that for switch (loose trucks) and fakie manuals (tight trucks)
