Hey! I totally appreciate this advice girly! Thanks for the tips. Would love to talk personally for further help. on another note and to your viewers, you started your video off showing the clip where I say “this cage was recommended by the pet store owner” and then you cut off the part where I say “that might be wrong but it doesn’t matter because they have this whole room.” So automatically I’m being drawn in a bad light. you also cut out important information in the story about my precious bunny. I mention I was living with my parents, not on my own. It wasn’t up to me how to locate the bunny when it wasn’t my home and my mom was highly allergic. we didn’t know she was allergic to bunnies when me and my ex decided to surprise my family with a bunny. I also mentioned in my story about my old bunny that he too, had a heated bedroom in our garage which was our pet room. still, that situation felt funny to me and my mom and I happened to stumble across an old lady wanting a black bunny because hers ran away who had a bedroom for it and outfits and all. I never posted an add. I also never kept them in that cage! I hope we can keep spreading positivity. I didn’t buy the bunnies because it’s easter. I bought them because I’m finally settled down in my new house and now that I don’t have my mom to worry about, i now have the freedom and ability to be a bunny mom. I agree about adopting and not shopping. I definitely messed up there and clearly I have a lot to learn!!! But just like any new mom, you have to learn. But please let’s not generalize based off of selected clips and not my entire video! Majority of your advice in this video I addressed in my video and those clips weren’t used in this video. but there is still valuable information I am definitely going to apply!! But I really wish you posted the clips where I left more clarity to situations such as the “cage” and my old bunny. Sorry for dissing the community but it’s an absurd amount of hate for someone who is learning to be a mom. I am seeing an exotic vet this week to guarantee they are both boys so we can slay if needed and for a check up because I don’t trust the pet store after everything I’ve read. Thank you for being kind about this, but some people in this community are pure rude and of coarse I’m going to snap! Like any beginner mom, you live and you learn! I also didn’t buy the hutch. But was advised to by the bunny community LOL. Due to this, I don’t think I will be posting my bunnies on my channel because I don’t want to be mislead

Mar K where I live the whole town is technically a bunny community. There's about one hundred house bunnie's hopping around everywhere. I live in a tiny Town about 1/2mile long so they basically own the town. I wake up to bunnie's in my yard every morning and my yard is fenced lol

Until recently, I always wanted to become a veterinarian until my boyfriend pointed out that I would hate it when I realize how bad some people treat their animals... people forget that we choose them for our pets, but our pets have not chosen us .. treat them with the respect they deserve.
I regret the comment I made over 3 years ago. 😕 I forgot about this video until I received an email notification. It doesn't sit right with me... I wanted to delete this comment but it says it will delete all the replies as well. I may still do that, but first I wanted to reply to some of the replies that had a different perspective rather than the dogpile. Since then, I realized that life isn't perfect. Mistakes do happen even if you do your research. My cat died this year suddenly and it broke me. He was a stray before and when I took him to the humane society they told me he had FIV and FelV, they explained it. Everytime his immune system couldn't handle something and he got sick I would go to a vet. Last visit was fall 2021. Everything seemed fine this year until he just died, he didn't act sick at all. I knew he wouldn't live long as other cats but I didn't realize how few years that would be and I thought I would see the signs leading up to his last moments. But nope. He was acting normal the following night and next morning he passed. So seeing that email notification and reading what I wrote along with most of the replies agreeing with me was salt in the wounds... mainly me saying "it's a living thing, not a laptop, you don't know what it's going to do *or if it's sick*" I rewatched this video and I have a different perspective now. She only had the bunnies for a few days...She used the information she was given. When she takes the bunnies to the vet she will have more information of proper care. She has financial resources to do so and can give those bunnies a lavish life. The self righteousness wasn't necessary and I had a rude awakening to mine.
Yeah I spent 2 years to make sure my bunny had a safe and good life, she is outside but she has a shed and a chicken wire roof play area and I have 10 acres and I make sure she had room to run around and play, and during winter the heater goes up and during summer she gets friendly frozen fruits and a fan. Sorry for telling you all that 😅 but I agree with you.
@Citlali Lopez I take rasberrys fresh from my little garden and wash them then I will freeze them for about 30 minutes or I will take a cup and put water and the berries in there and freeze them. You can do it with any other fruit my bunny mostly likes raspberries or bananas.
Honestly tho like how do you not once pick up your phone and search mmmmmhmmm idk what kinda cage do I put two bunny’s in!!!!! When I was looking to get my chinchilla I did month of research, and I took multiple people’s advice into consideration. Also what I also don’t get is why is she getting so defensive about people giving her good honest advice. Her: the pet store employees told me it’s ok *goldfish in 5 gallons, bettas in cups, birds in tiny cage, cats from mills, Leonard geckos that are half starved to death, ferrets who are in a tiny cage they can barely run in, bearded dragons who are half starved and beaten up, hamsters housed together, and chinchillas stare in horror*
Ferrets in pet stores like, Petco, PetSmart, etc, they all come from a ferret mill and it's very bad! You can tell by 2 dots in one of the ferrets ears. They mostly come with diseases and medical problems. (EDIT: just another reason buying animals from pet stores are bad.)
My rabbit ''Lu'' died after 14 years. He lives the first years in a cage.. I was young and thought Cages are ok for them. I met a friend who has rabbits as well and show me how they live.. free in the house. I was so amazed and rearrange my whole Room to let the bunny out 24/7. Of course the cage was still there for poop and pee but it was open everytime. So he lives over 8 years free and I feel sad that I learn so late about a rabbit live. But he has 8 wonderful free room life ♥
I to had my rabbit in a cage for years. He is about 8 now (he's adopted so not exactly sure) About a year ago I switched to a large x-pen with free roam time when I'm home. I'm so much happier seeing him happy/healthy living his best life 😍
I adopted a pair of elderly rabbits when I was about 10 and they had free range of my room the only time they were in a cage was when I was picking up the room they had some great golden years

Dogs dont need much attention so either way it's wrong. Rabbits take a crap ton of attention and work to have them trust you while dogs it is a second nature to trust humans

Both of her TWO hamsters lived under 2 years they're suppose to live 2 years and both of them died under that number only one year was alive. I'm sure it's her fault cause she had a small cage for it for a year until she showed us she didn't know until then. So that shows she didn't research at all
Alissa George also if you notice in her apartment caught on fire vlog she left her hamster in the fire but later on twitter claims the hamster wasn’t in there then where was it 🤷🏻♀️, a few days later she announced the hamster passed away
Same, in Germany many pet shops don't sell hamsters, bunnies etc. Around the holiday seasons. Like all the pets that are considered to be great for children
yeah but I hope she understands that rabbits are still used as meat and livestock and are bred for breed qualities. it's a very normal thing in most areas
DatAwkwardPerson 1 I’ve never really seen the budgie community be that rude? Most bird people in general tend to be very supportive, in my experience. The reptile community is def. the most hostile imo, but reptiles are also one of the most easily mistreated animals so it makes sense.
Reminds me of my other rabbit I used to have, my current one is very shy so I had to find a home for the friendlier one, apparently the vet thinks she’s deaf and I’m guessing that’s why she’s so friendly and not scared of anything, that bunny is also very happy and has a male bunny bonded to her now and she has a great owner, she just didn’t get on with the bunny I still have and I couldn’t get them to get along. I still get photos and updates though :) I miss her so much but I’m glad they’re both doing well now n.n
I want to point out that the place that Gabi is shopping for hutches is at a farm store called Tractor Supply. The baby ducklings and chicks are not for sale for Easter as a cute gift but are instead for sale for small scale farmers and for those who are poultry enthusiasts. For those of us who are poultry owners, we get chicks in the spring so that they are fully grown by the time that the weather might start to turn bad. It's for the welfare of the whole flock to have chicks in the spring vs any other time of the year. You cannot buy less than 6 chicks almost anywhere in the US in order to prevent impulse Easter purchases. If some place is selling dyed chicks or is breaking the minimum purchase laws in your state then I strongly urge you to report it to the proper authorities. Those of use in the chicken community, farmers included, are the ones who have to deal with the mess of impulse buys and we genuinely wish that people get do research before even considering getting a chicken.
Exactly! So many people buy chicks just for fun for Easter. I have gone and gotten many chicks from Craigslist that people can't take care of. the law where you have to get six or more chicks is very important as to keep that from happening but sometimes it still does. right now I have 10 chickens and it is very hard work some people do not realize that sadly

Yes! Exactly! As a small farmer, people have ridiculed me for buying my chicks around Easter.. it’s not for the holiday, it’s because that’s what’s best for the flock.
I honestly think she meant she was buying an outdoor hutch for them to play in while supervised and not to live out there. I also don’t think she meant she’s literally going to treat them like dogs - just love them like you would do a dog. That’s just what I got from it though and I see her lack of knowledge in this too.

I agree with your original comment. I think much of what she said was misconstrued. Also she is doing a good job going to the vet and getting advice. The vet *should* know how to properly care for a bunny.
You can keep a rabbit in a hutch but make sure there is plenty of ventilation and is in a safe place for the rabbit to be as in a shady spot and not to low to the ground or you can build one your self.
I want to bunny proof my house, but I can’t. So I don’t get a cage, my family purchased a large play pen. And let’s him outside for 3 hours a day. He is new and we are trying our best to give him as much space as possible

I’mafatweird potato you could use a puzzle mat, just make sure the edges aren’t inside of the pen because they will chew it up. You could also just use a shower curtain or stuff like that. I’d go with the puzzle mat because it’s not that expensive and they’re cute!

My bunny stays outside bc my dad would rather spent thousands of dollars to get a greenhouse and other stuff to keep them outside then spend two days to potty train them😔 the greenhouse goes around their hutch and its smaller then their ex pen. The greenhouse is to jeep them warm..

I would imagine the 7 day health warranty means that if the rabbit is sick and requires a vet checkup or care, the shop will cover the expenses. Rescue shelters often do this too.
My syrians cage is twice the size as her bunnies cages ,and the cage she has for her bunny is the size of the cage for my dwarf hamster ikon and mind you ,its for ONE DWARF hamster ....ONE Yes I spoil the heck out of my hamsters but its because they have all been abused or not taken care of and I want to give them the best years of their life (I never get pets from pet shops ,I only rescue ,I will never buy an animal from a pet shop ,if you get a pet from a pet shop your not adopting your buying)
When they said “ducks and chicks for Easter” I can tell they were at tractor supply and at tractor supply they have a sign on the chicks that say “I’m living chick not a fuzzy gift”

I know before watching your videos I would think to put them in a cage but at this point I have made my home a free roam for my new baby!!! Alanna Reinstedler People think small animals are an easy alternative to dogs or cats so they can’t be bothered to research. Most of them are wayyyyy more work, they find that out the hard way and extremely neglect their animal. Always do research people!
NEVER take recommendations from the pet store. They told me that my guinea pigs could live in a wire bottomed cage! The guinea pigs have a big C&C cage and are living happily now 😊

I has Syrian hamster, don’t use that castle because it’s plastic. (I live in Germany) so they need to have a big natural cage with wood. She lives in an ikea detolf.
You helped me so much during my process of adoption. It’s been complicated to take care of my two bunnies when I was so badly advised and I couldn’t thank you enough for this precious help you provided me ! Now I can proudly say that I have two happy bunnies running and jumping all over my flat, giving me and my partner more love that we could possibly ask for. 🐰🐰At first, it’s hard to face the idea that as parents for our pets, we have made mistakes but our real power is to know that we can always do better and that it doesn’t make us horrible parents what so ever. I hope gabi will listen to you and get that this doesn’t mean in any way that she isn’t a good parent for her bunnies ❤️ (I’m french so sorry if I made some mistakes)

I did get my bunny as an impulse buy with my ex and once we broke up I had to leave her with him but was able to get her a few months after... did full on research of what type of hay to get her, treats, type of bedding and everything cause come to find out he got to the point of feeding her chocolate and worse 🤦🏻♀️ so she’s a year now and super happy... she has the house to herself and is super happy and I love her so much. She even kisses my nose and face lol

Beginner or not, google is free in this day and age. She had all the time to research before getting them. Anyone who uses google knows you take Pet Store advice with a grain of a salt.
frostdragon64 that might be so but people make mistakes and she’s fixing them. She’s taking advice from people she knows who owns rabbits. No ones perfect. I’m still learning more about frogs as I go along

true that, I have a huge non chain pet store where i live and every animal i've gotten there has been healthy and stayed healthy, not to mention they give EXCELLENT information on their animals and have specialists for certain animals. Honestly I wish all pet stores were like that and were well to the animals in their care.

I got 1 bunny and she’s 12 weeks and I’m gonna get her spayed when she’s 17 weeks. After the time when she can be introduced to another bunny I’m gonna get a neutered male bunny. Am I doing everything right? 🥴
i think so!! :) dont forget to look up how to properly bond bunnies before you get the second one, so they wont fight each other and all that stuff and also you should wait around a month after spaying your bunny, so her hormones dial down and she's calmer n friendly! good luck ❤❤

Thank you for realizing a rabbit is not right for you and not getting one anyways. Most first-time rabbit owners don't realize what they're getting into when they're getting a rabbit and then abandon or neglect it after they realize how much work it is.
I’ve learned so much watching this channel. I owned a bunny as a child, and thinking back, I’m pretty sure my cage was really too small. It was the feed store who sold them to us that recommended the cage, they even said it would last an entire bunny’s life. We let her out pretty regularly, but still spent a lot of time in the cage. We ended up rehoming the bunny to live on a farm with a friend. Of course, these were the exact same people that sold her to us labeled female... when we later found out after rehoming her that she was a HE.
Gabi handled it pretty poorly. I remember when Jenna got attacked about her fish care and her hamster care and what she did was she grew from it and took advice instead of getting mad and cursing about how they’re policing her. Plus, not everyone was attacking Gabj, there have been people who actually commented and gave very good advice and tried to help her out, but she shuts it down. I hope Gabi see’s this video and would at least listen to you and will allow you to do a bunny makeover. I love you and your channel because I’m happy you’re able to bring to light on what the most common mistakes are about owning a bun
That shit gets annoying, being told what to do, especially if one already intends to figure things out to get better like c’mon now. She don’t need to apologize for the way she is handling the situation. The important thing is her bunnies are in good conditions and not neglected or in dangerous circumstances.
Gabs I get that people get annoyed being told what they’re doing wrong. But I’m saying that not everyone was doing it to be policing and to be negative. I will admit that some people did leave harsh comments, but there are a lot of people who wanted to give criticism. Criticism does not equal hate. Of course the bunny isn’t being neglected and that she’s doing her best, but people are telling her that she can do better and here is how she can do it. The situation happened and i hope she will grow and learn that she doesn’t need to swear at people and generalize the community as being so mean and dictating her. The community is just trying to give tools for her to give her bunny an even more fulfilling lifestyle.
So so happy I found your channel! Every time I watch a video I make a note on what I could be doing better for my little bun Luna and get to fixing it ASAP. Especially as she’s getting bigger I’ve been making changes to evolve with her.
When I was looking into getting a rabbit, I watched the Howcast 49 part series on them. In addition I did a bunch of research in both English and Finnish (my native language). The House Rabbit Society was also a big help. You wouldn't get a baby without doing your research, so why would you get a bunny?

We were very very fortunate to have vets that were super bunny knowledgeable in bunny life, diet, free roaming...etc. each has owned their own bunnies! One vet even had difficult bunnies, due to circumstances (rescued from questionable situations) so have been incredibly helpful with Oreo, who is a special needs bunny emotionally.
I really like how you approached this topic Lorelei. You in my humble opinion were straightforward and direct, but kind when talking about this other UA-camr's video. I found it helpful and learned a lot about what not to do for the new bunny that I plan on getting soon. I bought a cage for my rabbit and when it arrived I hated it. Sent it back and got stuff at the rescue for him instead. And as for Easter, we were just at the mall and there were beautiful plush toy rabbits everywhere! Please, get your kids these for Easter instead of a real one! A bunny makeover would be great!
It’s so sad that people think that a small tiny cage is big enough for rabbits! It’s too small even for one rabbit let alone two. I really hope that she changes her bunny’s living situation!! I feel so bad for those bunnies. Unless if you know her personally, then you don’t know what she is going to do with the bunnies and how she is going to treat them.

She’s might just keep the bunnies in the cage all day long except for when she’s vlogging. Unless you know her personally, then you really don’t know what she’s doing with these bunnies. You should think before you speak because you don’t know what my house looks like and it’s 100 times bigger than that sunroom.
@Sienna and Suz letting bunnies outside isn't helping them or freeing them. You're just leaving them vulnerable for predators. Moreover, cages hurt their feet and they are very emotional creatures. They get bored very easily and need lots of toys. That small amount of hay isnt enough. 80% of their diet should be hey because they need it for their digestive system

My bunny cuddles used to live in a tiny cage but now she has a huge ex pen thanks to you. She is a super happy bunny and even jumps in my lap. I love Gaby BUT I just wish that she just studyed a bit more on how to take care of them but hopefully instead of ignoring all the " hate comments" that are telling her suggestions on how to make the life of her bunnies a bit better but I really like their videos no hate to her

Tbf, most of the employees I’m sure are just doing as they’re told by their bosses. I’d say the bosses should learn and train their employers and customers on correct care I do like your idea tho about giving customers shopping for pets good info on their pets, would be great to also give the pet store owners advice

Recently , I have moved and I have only one rabbit and I tried to bond her worth With a 7 yr old Lionhead but she didn't want any but now she is alive and then now she is in heat and displaying aggressive bejavior)like circling, coming her territory and going me until it hurts! Charlene Pickett your writing is a bit confusing, but I think I understood it mostly. You should be very patient with bonding rabbits, because you can never be too sure. Keep them apart at least with a fence so they can’t fight. Bunnies don’t go in heat, they’re always ready for conception though. You reduce the risk of the bunny having uterine cancer, but doesn’t eliminate the risk. “Fixing” them will make them more docile in the long run.

on another note and to your viewers, you started your video off showing the clip where I say “this cage was recommended by the pet store owner” and then you cut off the part where I say “that might be wrong but it doesn’t matter because they have this whole room.” So automatically I’m being drawn in a bad light. you also cut out important information in the story about my precious bunny. I mention I was living with my parents, not on my own. It wasn’t up to me how to locate the bunny when it wasn’t my home and my mom was highly allergic. we didn’t know she was allergic to bunnies when me and my ex decided to surprise my family with a bunny. I also mentioned in my story about my old bunny that he too, had a heated bedroom in our garage which was our pet room. still, that situation felt funny to me and my mom and I happened to stumble across an old lady wanting a black bunny because hers ran away who had a bedroom for it and outfits and all. I never posted an add. I also never kept them in that cage! I hope we can keep spreading positivity. I didn’t buy the bunnies because it’s easter. I bought them because I’m finally settled down in my new house and now that I don’t have my mom to worry about, i now have the freedom and ability to be a bunny mom. I agree about adopting and not shopping. I definitely messed up there and clearly I have a lot to learn!!! But just like any new mom, you have to learn. But please let’s not generalize based off of selected clips and not my entire video! Majority of your advice in this video I addressed in my video and those clips weren’t used in this video. but there is still valuable information I am definitely going to apply!! But I really wish you posted the clips where I left more clarity to situations such as the “cage” and my old bunny. Mar K where I live the whole town is technically a bunny community. There's about one hundred house bunnie's hopping around everywhere. I live in a tiny Town about 1/2mile long so they basically own the town. I wake up to bunnie's in my yard every morning and my yard is fenced lol

I regret the comment I made over 3 years ago. 😕 I forgot about this video until I received an email notification. It doesn't sit right with me... I wanted to delete this comment but it says it will delete all the replies as well. I may still do that, but first I wanted to reply to some of the replies that had a different perspective rather than the dogpile. Since then, I realized that life isn't perfect. Mistakes do happen even if you do your research. My cat died this year suddenly and it broke me. He was a stray before and when I took him to the humane society they told me he had FIV and FelV, they explained it. Everytime his immune system couldn't handle something and he got sick I would go to a vet. Last visit was fall 2021. Everything seemed fine this year until he just died, he didn't act sick at all. I knew he wouldn't live long as other cats but I didn't realize how few years that would be and I thought I would see the signs leading up to his last moments. But nope. He was acting normal the following night and next morning he passed. So seeing that email notification and reading what I wrote along with most of the replies agreeing with me was salt in the wounds... mainly me saying "it's a living thing, not a laptop, you don't know what it's going to do *or if it's sick*"
I rewatched this video and I have a different perspective now. She only had the bunnies for a few days...She used the information she was given. When she takes the bunnies to the vet she will have more information of proper care. She has financial resources to do so and can give those bunnies a lavish life.
The self righteousness wasn't necessary and I had a rude awakening to mine.
Yeah I spent 2 years to make sure my bunny had a safe and good life, she is outside but she has a shed and a chicken wire roof play area and I have 10 acres and I make sure she had room to run around and play, and during winter the heater goes up and during summer she gets friendly frozen fruits and a fan. Sorry for telling you all that 😅 but I agree with you.
@Citlali Lopez I take rasberrys fresh from my little garden and wash them then I will freeze them for about 30 minutes or I will take a cup and put water and the berries in there and freeze them. You can do it with any other fruit my bunny mostly likes raspberries or bananas.

Ferrets in pet stores like, Petco, PetSmart, etc, they all come from a ferret mill and it's very bad! You can tell by 2 dots in one of the ferrets ears. They mostly come with diseases and medical problems. (EDIT: just another reason buying animals from pet stores are bad.)

My rabbit ''Lu'' died after 14 years. He lives the first years in a cage.. I was young and thought Cages are ok for them. I met a friend who has rabbits as well and show me how they live.. free in the house. I was so amazed and
rearrange my whole Room to let the bunny out 24/7. Of course the cage was still there for poop and pee but it was open everytime. So he lives over 8 years free and I feel sad that I learn so late about a rabbit live. But he has 8 wonderful free room life ♥

Both of her TWO hamsters lived under 2 years they're suppose to live 2 years and both of them died under that number only one year was alive. I'm sure it's her fault cause she had a small cage for it for a year until she showed us she didn't know until then. So that shows she didn't research at all

Reminds me of my other rabbit I used to have, my current one is very shy so I had to find a home for the friendlier one, apparently the vet thinks she’s deaf and I’m guessing that’s why she’s so friendly and not scared of anything, that bunny is also very happy and has a male bunny bonded to her now and she has a great owner, she just didn’t get on with the bunny I still have and I couldn’t get them to get along. I still get photos and updates though :) I miss her so much but I’m glad they’re both doing well now n.n
I want to point out that the place that Gabi is shopping for hutches is at a farm store called Tractor Supply. The baby ducklings and chicks are not for sale for Easter as a cute gift but are instead for sale for small scale farmers and for those who are poultry enthusiasts. For those of us who are poultry owners, we get chicks in the spring so that they are fully grown by the time that the weather might start to turn bad. It's for the welfare of the whole flock to have chicks in the spring vs any other time of the year.
You cannot buy less than 6 chicks almost anywhere in the US in order to prevent impulse Easter purchases. If some place is selling dyed chicks or is breaking the minimum purchase laws in your state then I strongly urge you to report it to the proper authorities. Those of use in the chicken community, farmers included, are the ones who have to deal with the mess of impulse buys and we genuinely wish that people get do research before even considering getting a chicken.
Exactly! So many people buy chicks just for fun for Easter. I have gone and gotten many chicks from Craigslist that people can't take care of. the law where you have to get six or more chicks is very important as to keep that from happening but sometimes it still does. right now I have 10 chickens and it is very hard work some people do not realize that sadly

Also she is doing a good job going to the vet and getting advice. The vet *should* know how to properly care for a bunny.
You can keep a rabbit in a hutch but make sure there is plenty of ventilation and is in a safe place for the rabbit to be as in a shady spot and not to low to the ground or you can build one your self.
I want to bunny proof my house, but I can’t. So I don’t get a cage, my family purchased a large play pen. And let’s him outside for 3 hours a day. He is new and we are trying our best to give him as much space as possible

I’mafatweird potato you could use a puzzle mat, just make sure the edges aren’t inside of the pen because they will chew it up. You could also just use a shower curtain or stuff like that. I’d go with the puzzle mat because it’s not that expensive and they’re cute!

I would imagine the 7 day health warranty means that if the rabbit is sick and requires a vet checkup or care, the shop will cover the expenses. Rescue shelters often do this too.

Yes I spoil the heck out of my hamsters but its because they have all been abused or not taken care of and I want to give them the best years of their life (I never get pets from pet shops ,I only rescue ,I will never buy an animal from a pet shop ,if you get a pet from a pet shop your not adopting your buying)

My mom gave me a month bc I looked at guinea pigs and fell in love bc hamsters are too small for me while my guinea pigs are crazy tho. I’m trying to potty train them. Bc they are babies and it’s so funny at 12:00 pm they go CRAZY early mornings and late nights lol
Alanna Reinstedler People think small animals are an easy alternative to dogs or cats so they can’t be bothered to research. Most of them are wayyyyy more work, they find that out the hard way and extremely neglect their animal. Always do research people!

NEVER take recommendations from the pet store. They told me that my guinea pigs could live in a wire bottomed cage! The guinea pigs have a big C&C cage and are living happily now 😊

Now I can proudly say that I have two happy bunnies running and jumping all over my flat, giving me and my partner more love that we could possibly ask for. 🐰🐰At first, it’s hard to face the idea that as parents for our pets, we have made mistakes but our real power is to know that we can always do better and that it doesn’t make us horrible parents what so ever. I did get my bunny as an impulse buy with my ex and once we broke up I had to leave her with him but was able to get her a few months after... did full on research of what type of hay to get her, treats, type of bedding and everything cause come to find out he got to the point of feeding her chocolate and worse 🤦🏻♀️ so she’s a year now and super happy... she has the house to herself and is super happy and I love her so much. She even kisses my nose and face lol

Beginner or not, google is free in this day and age. She had all the time to research before getting them. Anyone who uses google knows you take Pet Store advice with a grain of a salt.

true that, I have a huge non chain pet store where i live and every animal i've gotten there has been healthy and stayed healthy, not to mention they give EXCELLENT information on their animals and have specialists for certain animals. Honestly I wish all pet stores were like that and were well to the animals in their care.

Thank you for realizing a rabbit is not right for you and not getting one anyways. Most first-time rabbit owners don't realize what they're getting into when they're getting a rabbit and then abandon or neglect it after they realize how much work it is.
I’ve learned so much watching this channel.
I owned a bunny as a child, and thinking back, I’m pretty sure my cage was really too small. It was the feed store who sold them to us that recommended the cage, they even said it would last an entire bunny’s life.
We let her out pretty regularly, but still spent a lot of time in the cage.
We ended up rehoming the bunny to live on a farm with a friend.
Of course, these were the exact same people that sold her to us labeled female... when we later found out after rehoming her that she was a HE.
Gabi handled it pretty poorly. I remember when Jenna got attacked about her fish care and her hamster care and what she did was she grew from it and took advice instead of getting mad and cursing about how they’re policing her. Plus, not everyone was attacking Gabj, there have been people who actually commented and gave very good advice and tried to help her out, but she shuts it down. I hope Gabi see’s this video and would at least listen to you and will allow you to do a bunny makeover. I love you and your channel because I’m happy you’re able to bring to light on what the most common mistakes are about owning a bun

Jenna and the fish oh my, she’s an absolute angel making a 50 minute video apologising and understanding where she went wrong and how it happened.
That shit gets annoying, being told what to do, especially if one already intends to figure things out to get better like c’mon now. She don’t need to apologize for the way she is handling the situation. The important thing is her bunnies are in good conditions and not neglected or in dangerous circumstances.
Gabs I get that people get annoyed being told what they’re doing wrong. But I’m saying that not everyone was doing it to be policing and to be negative. I will admit that some people did leave harsh comments, but there are a lot of people who wanted to give criticism. Criticism does not equal hate. Of course the bunny isn’t being neglected and that she’s doing her best, but people are telling her that she can do better and here is how she can do it. The situation happened and i hope she will grow and learn that she doesn’t need to swear at people and generalize the community as being so mean and dictating her. The community is just trying to give tools for her to give her bunny an even more fulfilling lifestyle.
Yeahp and now her fans are over here abusing people in the comments for saying anything that mentions Gabi needing to make changes politely.

When I was looking into getting a rabbit, I watched the Howcast 49 part series on them. In addition I did a bunch of research in both English and Finnish (my native language). The House Rabbit Society was also a big help.
You wouldn't get a baby without doing your research, so why would you get a bunny?

We were very very fortunate to have vets that were super bunny knowledgeable in bunny life, diet, free roaming...etc. each has owned their own bunnies! One vet even had difficult bunnies, due to circumstances (rescued from questionable situations) so have been incredibly helpful with Oreo, who is a special needs bunny emotionally.
I really like how you approached this topic Lorelei. You in my humble opinion were straightforward and direct, but kind when talking about this other UA-camr's video. I found it helpful and learned a lot about what not to do for the new bunny that I plan on getting soon. Thank you for stepping up and speaking out, when you know more you are able to do better with that knowledge. ❤

Rabbits don’t free roam. No animal free roams all the time. Unless they are out and about to get exercise.
I bought a cage for my rabbit and when it arrived I hated it. Sent it back and got stuff at the rescue for him instead. And as for Easter, we were just at the mall and there were beautiful plush toy rabbits everywhere! Please, get your kids these for Easter instead of a real one! A bunny makeover would be great!
It’s so sad that people think that a small tiny cage is big enough for rabbits! It’s too small even for one rabbit let alone two. I really hope that she changes her bunny’s living situation!! @Sienna and Suz letting bunnies outside isn't helping them or freeing them. You're just leaving them vulnerable for predators. Moreover, cages hurt their feet and they are very emotional creatures. They get bored very easily and need lots of toys. That small amount of hay isnt enough. 80% of their diet should be hey because they need it for their digestive system

Charlene Pickett your writing is a bit confusing, but I think I understood it mostly. You should be very patient with bonding rabbits, because you can never be too sure. Keep them apart at least with a fence so they can’t fight. Bunnies don’t go in heat, they’re always ready for conception though. You reduce the risk of the bunny having uterine cancer, but doesn’t eliminate the risk. “Fixing” them will make them more docile in the long run.
