With the amount of raw damage dilo is capable of dishing out, I agree with others that clones should only be available at a certain growth, or at least they shouldn't do damage. The venom effects also definitely need to be shortened. 10 minutes of being unable to smell or see anything is annoying AF. With most carnis going into starvation after 40ish minutes, 10 minutes could be life or death, especially since there's 0 way to heal from venom quicker (like sitting). You get bit once by a tiny dilo and youre forced to starve or dehydrate for 10 minutes. It's not like we can just avoid dilos venom, like how you can avoid ceratos vomit debuff by just staying away from them, since dilos are one of the fastest heavy hitting carnis in the game now besides carno.
Do you realise that dilos are the only carnivore that can actually face a Teno or Stego and have it be a somewhat even fight? It has brought a needed balance to the game.
@@kis4659terrible reasoning, you can bait Tenno tail attacks to drain stam and the dilo is already super fast, they need to either get rid of the clones and keep the fog or remove the fog and keep the clones but not have both
Very cool mechanic, personally I think it should be restricted to sub adult like 65-70% growth, and venom loses stages after 1 min like troodon. Playing with the current build I haven’t really felt cheated or felt it’s too op, it’s strong but needs tweaks. Clones should take way longer to recharge instead of 10 secs to encourage pack play between dilos so they can stack their clones fairly. Note: fog does stop people from smelling for like 5 mins which is annoying.
Its definitely too op when you have 3 other models dealing the same amount of damage as you. Not to mention the night vision. Fights aren't fights, you bite a few times and go chill. Players always run away, they never stay and fight unless they find a rock to get up against, or beg you not to kill them lol. You definitely feel overpowering, imo.
I tried fighting against dilo today and honestly it felt fine, I was a 1200kg stego against a solo dilo, the dilo applied venom and resorted to only using copies to deal the rest of the damage, it spawned around 7 of them before giving up because I was getting rid of the copies before they could damage me, it was pretty easy to do so because they call before they start running at least once. So in my opinion Dilo is not a low risk high reward dino because it needs to keep the target busy for the copies to be useful.
I can't get down the hit box for the dilo bite, im constantly missing against teno and carno. Weirdly enough, stego seems fine despite the tail being higher i think
Hitboxes can be kinda off in this game especially when you add a little desync to the mix. But what I've noticed is that when trying to bite carno you have to look upward something to get the hit register to head to tail. This is not just for tail bites but if you click your mouse right when your dinos mouth is on the right spot you can miss because the bite animation takes like 0.5s open its mouth and bite so you have to it if you run in and bite
If you thought dilo was so over powered why did you go for the sub adult? I killed 4 adult dilos solo as a teno. Its not over powered it just has a high skill ceiling. That teno missed its tail multiple times in fact both missed most of their attacks. Beating a bad player solo doesn't make something op.
Because I was around 60-70% myself and this was my first time growing and trying to hunt something as dilo so naturally I went for something I thought sub/young adult dilo could handle. And while skill ceiling is a factor, venom still needs some tweaking
had they hit you with 1 tail, you would be on the ground ready to recive a kick to the head. This would kill a full grown dilo. I've played very good teno vs dilo fights on both ends. I was able to kill 4 dilos as a solo teno. You can use your alt scratch to bleed them good long before they ever get venom. By the time your low on bleed just stand still and scratch. They will bleed out before you. If you land a tail go kick the head for an instant kill. @@Doqi

If envenomation lasts 10 min and the cooldown is 10 s then you can do 60x85 (5100) damage from the safe distance. Maybe dilo should bite again to activate the cooldown or something because now it's ridiculously easy, not to mention when there's more than just one dilo

If you sit back and spam clones the target can just kill the clones before they attack and take no further damage, I fought with a Dilo player who did that I was a 1200kg Stego, I just ran around and bit the clones when I heard them call after they spawn so I never took any damage from the 7 or so clones. There is counterplay for Dilo venom, people just need to learn it. If the envenomated players just sit there and wait for the clones to attack them then yea it'll be easier to kill them, if they actrually know how the venom works the dilo player will have to go in to keep the target's attention in order for the clones to have time to spawn in, do their call and then attack, otherwise the venom is going to be useless against a player who knows how it works.
Obstacles like trees, bushes, slopes, and the railings of the bridge will interfere with your clones and prevent them from landing hits.
