lost me at Kevin Smith
I'm so over Kevin Smith, and I used to like him.
He lost me after Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Everything after than, with a few isolated moments from Clerks II, are awful. Truly awful.
I would have loved to support this movie but Kevin has made it clear he doesn't want my support.

I don't trust Kevin Smith not to screw it up. What he did to my boy, Dante, is unforgiveable.

I have no interest at all in seeing this film.
Nowadays I always try to champion well put together, fluffy movies. We need them more than ever at the moment. I will check this out
Shockingly, I loved it. Kevin's best movie since Dogma.
Gave Kevin smith to many shots this sounds like his best thing awhile maybe I’ll see it 5 years

I’ll give it a chance after I see Clerks 3. Still recovering from his work on He-Man and stuff he pulled. He use to be one of my faves, but that heart attack or maybe it was the pot, changed him.

He's a relentless salesman these days. Fatman Beyond is one long advertorial and even Babble has become half an hour of him selling his shit before we get to the show. Fat Kev from back in the day wasn't like that. People don't like the constant advertising - Dial it back!
He was always a salesman! What are you talking about? He made one or two over praised movies and has been coasting on them for years. He really doesn't have a movie in him that speaks to adults. Just perpetually immature boys who are mired in the past. He's taken with his own sense of importance. He's just gross at this point

I saw it in the one theater and I was only one in the theater but laughed my ass off. It was one of his best movies in the last couple of years.
Never thought much of Kevin's movies and think less of him as a human being, no thanks!
I'm actually interested more now.. I don't know if he still is but Austen was Harley's boyfriend a few years ago. He also played Coletrane Blockchain in Clerks 3. The silent Bob to Elias.. unfortunately not playing near me, wish I had planned better and went out of town to catch it.
It’s definitely a prequel to clerks we finally get to find out what dental school is there is a lot of tie ins they even call out his cousin by name who is in clerks I don’t want to go into spoilers but there is a lot I want a second movie where he meets jay and starts working at the store and him and jay decided to film clerks like a prequel to clerks 3

Kevin Smith made one movie, and his every other watchable movies are variant of this. If you seen Clerks, then you've seen it all.

I wanted to see Kevin Smith make movies forever, but he's become a corporate shill who lies and then defends lies against fans calling him out on lies.
He's become the lowest form of movie theater gunk on your shoe among directors. I can't see this movie because of that. Not going to support someone who treats fans like that.

I blame Star Wars directly for all the stupid PREQUELS these days. First the prequel trilogy, and then the only new hit: Rogue One spawned the Andor show which is a prequel of a prequel- I swear I will never watch it no matter how good people say it is

Kevin Smith is a hack. He went from “voice of a generation” to “out of touch stoner” to just out of touch. I thought he had talent thirty years ago… turns out he was just really lucky.
I had slightly high hopes for this, even though I've hated Kevin Smith for years. But the trailer looks atrocious, just not funny or well made at all.
How would this compare to Dazed and Confused- the slice of life movie set in the 70s?
Or American Graffiti?

I like these guys and their whole little crew, but I will never trust a movie review from people that just found out about woke messaging in modern entertainment within the last five and a half years because they will have you spending your money and time on bullshit.
This movie sounds like Clerks/Mallrats. Why not make a film about said groups, but older. Like Kevin. Sex-obsessed teenagers? He's done that before, when it was appropriate for his age, and style. Now it's a bit odd.
