Tom almost literally killed me with that beat it joke. I was driving and listening and happened to take a drink right when he said it. I started choking and almost wrecked
Season 9 Finale was the best Finale this show had. I remember my jaw being dropped at the end, and my Older brother, who watched with me, blurted out “Holy F*ck” and we were pissed we had to wait the Summer for Season 10
The thing that stood out to me in this one, was the Clark/Lana subplot and the final scene in the loft. Where she theorized that a ship came down in the first meteor shower, and that however was in it has been here with us the entire time. The look on Clark's face was like "She is more right than she knows." Lana always had a very perceptive quality to her. And she most certainly showed it in this moment.😀🙏🙏🙏🙏
Awesome to have Craig from Kryptonsite on for this one. The character of Smallville's very first news and information site from all the way back before the show premiered. Who always covered the show from season to season with great detail, wrote some of the best Smallville companion books. And whose site still has some of the best forums related to the show. Many of I still enjoy checking out.😀😀🙏🙏🙏
I loved it when Lex says that he needs better security. The Martha and Lionel scenes are so good. Tom and Kristen played the talk scene so awardly. Jonathan speech was awesome. The character of Samantha reminded me of Kathy Bates from Misery and Tracy Flick from Election. Best podcast ever!! Lois is a great campaign manager.
Tom I’m so glad you answered that your Clark might’ve potentially just been a multiverse version. Because as much as I loved seeing you back, it seemed to betray the message we spent 10 seasons building. Clark was meant to be a hero for decades, spanning generations, even going so far as to influence other planets. That can’t be given up so easily in a crossover. Thanks for answering that!
He's been saying this recently at Cons too...please people, he's not saying it's NOT our Clark, just that he's unsure, which is obviously going to make fans who despised that 1 single scene feel better. I think it's an ambiguous answer, because it's trying to make everyone happy. I love Tom and think he's awesome to fans. But I completely disagree with this, especially after I talked to the other actor in that scene. But, think what you will...he's giving you permission to do that.
Craig absolutely nailed it on the head with the comparison of Smallville to the Arrowverse shows. Smallville managed to stay fresh and consistent quality for 10 seasons. Arrow, Flash, and Legends all completely dipped in quality and got stale after the first three seasons (with the exception of Arrow S5). The Flash was always my favorite superhero and I could not get over how bad that show got after season 3. Meanwhile with Smallville here we are in Season 5 and I know the best is still to come!
Finally, someone said it. Thank you, bud for saying how Lex's ending to the show is pointless given he forgets everything. I've been saying that for years.
also why did he have to forget EVERYTHING ? like couldn't they have made it so the clone only had the most recent download which maybe would have happened just prior to the S7 Finale ? but I guess i get it. they couldn't have had their exchange when Clark said he's sorry he couldn't save him 💔💔💔 also to try to figure out how Lex wouldn't recognize Superman, they'd have to pull some crazy P.I.S. Bobby Yewing dream-shower bullshit and it never would have worked. at least they kept it simple w the MacGuffin 🤷♀️
I used to post on the Kryptonsite message boards right into the series finale. That was the best. I always looked forward to reading the reactions and replying. The interaction between fellow Smallville viewers was great. Of course there was the huge Clana vs Clois debates. We had so much discussion on the ratings, too. Oh man what an era.
Man, I would go to Kryptonsite every day back when the show was on. Even fell for one of his yearly April Fools posts about Tom being cast in a (then non-existent) Superman movie. Bring Craig back!
Awesome to finally see Craig on Talkville! For many of us Kryptonsite members, he's the number 1 fan of the show and the person who gave the fandom an outlet to talk about it. And to answer Bryce's question, the live discussion threads were INSANE. And the day after the show you would have possibly 50-60 different threads talking about the episode. It was a great time to be a fan. With the blowup of social media, fan threads basically died. That's why, sadly, Kryptonsite has been an abandoned place for years now.
I remember leading a few fiery posts on that forum, particularly the Season 8 finale! Thems were the days. This was the first Birthday I *didn't* receive a Happy Birthday message from the Kryptonsite/KSiteTV forums -- I was always charmed by the fact that, even though the show was over and I had long moved on from those forums, they were still sending that message each year. I recognize it's automatic, but it was still charming. Just goes to show what kind of community was there :) -- Craig rocks.
@@IAmJack600 I feel like when the site moved to a new server the mail was funky -- I also suspect that it was possibly blocked by certain domains. Hopefully that will work itself out before your NEXT birthday!
@@IAmJack600 Oh, the amount of vitriol after that finale was a thing of beauty! And it was one of the rare times during the last 3 years when the entire fandom was united in how we felt about an episode. They managed to piss everyone off, LOL. Speaking of birthdays, I don't remember if I ever got that birthday message, but whenever it was my birthday, I would visit my profile page to see my age number. It was like the first dose of the new reality. After the forums got revamped I couldn't find that feature anymore.
@@Costas22 I'm not sure if Rosie will be interested to take the show rewatch that far, with him no longer being part of the show by then, but I would love to hear him rant about that episode XD
Kryptonite kept me involved and helped me hear and post about what may come on next ep. It was and still is pivotal to Smallvilles' success and it's future.
Glad "Fanatic" stayed with the Roses as you guys continue with the super stellar fifth season! Great to hear Tom discuss how the scene where Clark stops the bullet was filmed! That's another awesome save that shines in the Season Five DVD Intro! It's always nice when you guys actually talk about some of the amazing Clark & Lana scenes. There are some forever remembered moments throughout this season! SUPER EXCITED for the 100th Episode! Congratulations To Craig Byrne From KryptonSite!
Not sure if this was mentioned but I saw Manchurian Candidate for the first time and the scene where Lois shoots Jonathan was definitely a callback to that movie
Fanatic is basically the beginning of the end for Clana, as Clark's problems with honesty flare up and we are headed for A LOT of "secrets and lies" angst. It is also the beginning of the end for Jonathan. Not only because he stays in the race, but also because Lionel finds the evidence he will blackmail him with. And the red pills are an indication of how much stress he's putting on his heart. It's also an episode that establishes Lionel as a key player in what happens for the rest of the season. And that's the best part about it. Along with Lois, who I really loved as Jonathan's campaign manager. Finally she has a purpose on this show. And yes, Allison looked stunning in season 5 again.
I still cringe about the "no sex cuz of my powers" MacGuffin 😬 it was so out of left-field that it pulled me out of the story. I mean even Chloe was pointing out how he's able to have full control over himself to do every-day human tasks like shaking hand w out crushing it (nice nod to Superman 2, if that was intended) or looking at someone [while being turned on] w out heat-zapping them. the writers were just off the rails w this one. I mean I appreciate that they were trying to create more internal conflict for Clark, but the choice to keep Lana in the dark was so inorganic at this point that, on re-watch, is just beyond ridiculous that no matter how they play it out it just paints everything into a corner 🤦♀️
@asyouwish3636 there was a lot that didn't made sense or it was too stupid and the lies looked so phony like he didn't even had to think what to say,he just said it and just hope for the best. The story between lex and lana didn't made sense for me,but I guess his real lover was always going to be Lois so the producers just threw lana into the dragon's den. We definitely needed season 11 for us to see Lois and Clark as a family
@@ramonaengels9277 Seasons 5-7 is the worst period of Clark's characterization and THIS is one of the main reasons why. He lied to her even when it was getting ridiculous and he led her to Lex's arms, which scarred her for life, really. Along with disobeying Jor-El and getting Jonathan killed eventually, it was infuriating. Even at 18, no one wants to see Superman make such damaging decisions.
@@asyouwish3636I don’t disagree, but there are some valid points to it. Would he shoot it like a gun? Could he thrust too hard? It’s an EXTREMELY odd thing to think about, but they are “realistic” concerns he’d have.
I really enjoyed the opening scene, especially the shot with the bullet heading towards Jonathan. Honestly, I feel bad for Lex since everyone's lost their faith in him, even Clark thinking he attempted to kill Jonathan. Really enjoyed the slow motion scene with Clark blocking the bullet from Jonathan. Thanks again guys ❤️
Kryptonsite is how we got the news and updates about Smallville ! When the show was returning, who was returning, who was being cast, episode breakdowns, etc. Loved it!
Martha looked great in this ep 🔥 when she takes out the Talon's garbage in that cute 60s college-girl outfit I totally thought that was Lois until she turned towards camera!
@shanellea9121 yeah agreed lol especially w her long hair and the barrette, and the boots. super cute look, but definitely not what Martha would wear! It's kinda fueling my theory that the ep was over-edited. I feel like there was alot more we should have seen that ended up happening off camera.
Martha appearing at a gala in 5.19 in that red gown is easily one of the top 3 appearances by a woman on Smallville. She embraced more of her sexy side in her last 2 seasons.
Really great to meet the man behind Kryptonsite. I always followed the website back then. ;) At the end of the episode, my favorite Depeche Mode song, "I want it all," was played. Just like Lex said in the previous episode.
I can't believe he completely disregarded that Ryan is watching Smallville or the 1st time!😣😤poor Ryan I don't think there's one plot point left that hasn't been spoiled for him already 💔
@madfairy what happens to Lex in the finale 🤦♀️ and so far they spoiled what happens to: Chloe S3 finale/S4 opener, Johnathan S5 100th ep, Lex/Lana S6. like it's not the end of the world, but the whole point of Ryan even being in the podcast is that he never saw the show right? so why not try to keep the major shocks fresh for him 🙄 😅
Man, I remember hanging out on KryptonSite back in the day, theorizing S1 and S2 stuff in the comments. Mad kudos to Craig for keeping it going this whole time.
I really respected this show for not making it blatantly obvious which political party each candidate was a part of because nowadays i feel like politics is just shoved in our faces from all angles.
Yeah they'd definitely have one guy say "Make Smallville Great Again" and another guy say "Smallville Unburdened" or something like that and we'd all flame each other in the comments. I miss this era.
With all the beatings Jonathan Kent gets over the series, I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t had more medical concussions, brain bleeds or some form of physical disability by now. He’s the real man of steel!
I think it was called Help or helpless but an episode of Buffy was delayed because of something that happened in America. It's the one where Buffy hears everything everyone says and learns about Giles and her Mam also 😊that someone is trying to off all the students. Kinda like what happened with Scream 3 but Buffy was eventually shown and not changed 😁💜👍🐾👋
Great to hear from Craig Byrne. I was on Kryptonsite (as 4thPlanet) all the time. I agree, that scene at the end of Vengence was emotional. I've read the Smallville: Visual Guide (by Craig), all 7 Companions (Craig did #4-7), and 18 novels (not by Craig, but great, each is basically an episode)
Craig is such a Key part on the success of the show ! His website Kryptonsite was the bible of the show ! We could go back anytime and read detailled recap of episodes. I've also loved this interview of him ! First Time i'm earing him talk After all these years ! All his remarks during the interview where top notch. Thanks CRAIG ! Hope you could comeback on the talkville podcast more often :) There's 2 things outside of the show that kept me hook to it : Kryptonsite and Smallville Montage of epic scenes with great music on the background ! Seriously, back in the day, Smallville was one of the only show who would gets a lots of Music video montage on youtube ! And great one ! Look at the "Smallville Metallica Frantic" music video or the one called "Smallville Diamond Eyes" just to list a few. There are so much musiv video like theses that kept the show alive on the internet back in the day.
I wanted to watch this episode last night of smallville to be sure that I haven't forgotten about it but again I've ended up watching through and now I'm in s6 episode 15,just before the wedding episode. I've stopped just to watch talkville now. This is my comfort zone, Smallville ❤
lol that's a slippery slope! I discovered the podcast last year when they were covering S3. and I had literally just finished my first watch. so I said to myself "it's still fresh in my mind, I can just dive right into the podcast" lol nope! i made it half way thru the S1 binge when I realized I needed to watch the ep and the podcast back to back. and when I finally caught up to the live podcast mid S3, I made it 2 podcasts and then binged the rest of Smallville! in a week lol this time around (my 3rd series-watch) I've had more discipline but it's so so hard to just watch one at a time! 😅 tbh, during the podcast summer break, I did go back and watch S8-9 again 😂😂😂
@asyouwish3636 it used to be on tv when I was still in school, so I didn't had much time to watch it. I've rediscovered it in February of this year and since then I think I've watched it 3-5 times, revisiting some episodes and not the entire series sometimes. It's good,I love it even though some episodes are a bit bonkers but I guess that was the trend in the early 2000s
31:40 I totally agree! It's the life Clark always wanted! And Lois never insisted on having someone powerful by her side! It was very fair to give this to the characters along with their young daughters! Thank you Tom and Erica!
Agreed, the Lois and Clark arc was done to perfection, imo. That slow burn was peak! Although I think it dragged a little at season 8 post wedding (iykyk) but when it finally came together it was very satisfying.
i also love how they made her view of him change over the years: obviously she was attracted but between her cousin (who she loved like a sister) crushing on him and he still in love w Lana, she just automatically pushed him into "the friend zone" and I was thinking about how all those times he saved her, in Lois' POV Clark wasn't even involved. after watching her knock out yet another bad guy at end up this ep, my mind flashed over to S9 the zombie ep and at the end she tells him how she's seeing him in a new light ❤❤❤ just perfection. Clark never had to lie to her, just in the process of protecting his secret she came to think he was the one who needs help and as he starts to let his feelings for her in and stops hiding his presence she sees him as the hero he is
@jonjanoski4955 I mean, tbf, you don't *have* to watch every episode. Just watch the episodes that you really wanted to know about during Smallville's run. However, if you want to watch every episode, then you have a week between every new episode to catch up.
Loved the opening scene and the interactions between Lex and Lionel and also between Annette and Lionel. Enjoyed the synopsis and the interesting discussions🤩
When it comes to Samantha going ahead with the assassination of Lex's rival, I read that as an "I know what's best for you" thing - she knows Lex says he doesn't want that, but she believes it's best for him - for the cause - if Candidate Kent is eliminated. She sees herself as more dedicated to Lex's cause than Lex himself is. As for the question of the bullet, bullets vary in speed - by default, rifles tend to fire rounds that are supersonic (at the muzzle - with a long enough range, every bullet slows to subsonic) but you can get subsonic rounds. Or maybe Clark's super-hearing isn't limited by the speed of sound.
Okay episode. It felt like your standard one of kind of story. The closeness to Jonathan Kent's storyline is what I am excited for and hoping you will have John Schneider as a guest so that we can hear how all that played out. The whole setup with Lionel trying to blackmail Jonathan Kent build starts with this epsiode leading to episode 10.
Hey Bryce, can I just give you a shoutout for your editing/producing and "voice of God" work on the videos of the podcast? Even being a brand new dad to twins (!!) you're still doing the extra touches like putting in shots from scenes the guys are talking about OUTSIDE the synopsis and summary sections. You're even pulling shots from previous AND future episodes, and sometimes put them in for comedic effect. I really appreciate the work you're doing, please keep it up!!
The 100 episode is coming up and I cry every time I watch the end scene. So much emotion in that episode. And the episode after that at the end is a clip they watch on the tv and Jonathan says wave bye bye to mommy and he waves bye bye I cry every time 😢
My wife and I are currently going through the show for the first time! We just started Season 9 and we've been enjoying it a bunch! We're both 29 now but we wished that we would have given it a chance when it was airing on TV lol
"Dangerous neighbourhood, Lex". 💀💀💀 That was John Glover at his MB best! That Art Of War scene between Lex and Lionel was for me the highlight of the episode. I said it last week: One positive S5 definitely has over S4 is Lionel being at the forefront more. It allowed us to enjoy more scenes with Glover and Michael and their chemistry is incredible. And what makes these scenes feel fresh compared to the Luthor scenes of seasons 1-3 is that now both characters are grey. There's no good and bad party in their scenes now.
i also like the extra layers in the Luthor dynamic. in S1-3 Lionel had clear motives (to the audience) and Lex was straddling the line between good/evil. now we see a reversal of those roles. and the even the shades of gray are deeply subtextual. I mean they could have their own series just to explore their relationship (lol should be a limited series cuz there's only so much Luthor you can take w out Superman) but the show did manage to make a fresh spin and just when you think they've covered everything, they continue to surprise for the rest of the series 👏
@@asyouwish3636 Exactly. If I would categorize their scenes, I'd say Seasons 1-3 were Good Lex/Evil Lionel, Seasons 4-5 were Gray Lex/Gray Lionel and Seasons 6-7 were Evil Lex/Good-ish(LOL) Lionel. That's why their scenes work perfectly and they never get boring. There's always a twist to their relationship and Michael and John loved keeping the scenes fresh. I won't lie. Their scenes were my favorites on Smallville along with Clark taking steps to become Superman.
I give this episode 1 🌹. Decent episode, but several uncomfortable scenes. But honestly, I actually enjoyed the innuendo jokes in this podcast episode, guys. Too funny! Chloe actually has a similar conversation with Clark in season 9. Oh, and I Loved hearing from Craig, from Kryptonsite! Thank you guys for having him on as a special guest! ❤ Craig - I also love the Crisis Cameo Scene ( I thought I was the only one who loved it. LOL. Tom, basically there are 2 camps - either people love it, or they are very vocal about how much they hated it.) Also Tom, I get what you were trying to say, because the Crisis episodes were about the multiverse. However the way it's explained in articles, the people who made that multi-episode event intended to incorporate certain characters from different superhero shows or movies throughout the years. From what I've researched, the Smallville world that was shown, and the Lois and Clark you and Erica were portraying in said scene, was intended to be a future moment from Smallville (the Smallville we the audience already know,) but taking place many years in the future from the finale. Smallville was the OG superhero show - so they wanted to include that somehow. I had such a nice talk with Erica at the Steel City Con (if I would've had the extra cash, I would've gotten your autograph and talked to you too,) and I was worried that I was really misinterpreting that scene, and she confirmed that I actually was interpreting it correctly. That meant the world to me because, I'm doing a project about that, and I didn't want to misrepresent anything. She was sincere, and I trust what she told me (it was the Smallville we know, years after the finale, our Lois and Clark finally got married, and actually had kids.) There is so much negativity in certain Smallville groups online right now, and it can be depressing if you let it get to you. So, it was nice to know that my perspective was valid, and I actually understood what that moment was about, coming from one of the actors. Now, proposing the idea that "I don't know if this is my Clark, I'm not sure, it might not be" is actually a very smart way to spin it to people who absolutely hated it. I adore how nice you are to the fans, and that you are open to interpretations that certain fans might accept. Aside from talking to Erica directly about that scene (and remember it's just one scene - no one had the time to go into a whole explanation and detailed update on what's going on with the Lane-Kents and why, but I have theories about why Clark gave up his powers, at least temporarily,) To me, it makes sense. Smallville was already it's own unique world - as much as it incorporated things from the comics, they also did their own spin on things too. "Our" Smallville was a part of the multiverse all along. It doesn't necessarily have to be a parallel time Smallville/parallel time Clark. After I watched all 10 seasons of Smallville, that one little scene meant a lot to me. This show has been a comfort and a great distraction during a traumatic event in my life this past year. I really don't want to cry right now, so I'll just leave it at that. It also inspired me to be creative again. I made an art piece connecting the Smallville show we know to that Cameo scene, and yep, I'm bringing it to the Smallville Con. 😁 Looking forward to showing it to you and Erica.
I absolutely agree with the guest, that moment of Jonathan in the tractor, just watching it here makes me cry again, when I rewatch that episode I have to skip that scene because it is way too much for me, too sad.
The initial *pop* from a gun would alert Clark. yes, the bullet may be halfway to its target by the time Clark hears that pop, but he would then super speed well beyond sound. At least, that's my idea.
Man, Kryptonsite brings back so many memories! I remember writing the Krypton alphabet and writing notes to no one cuz I watched the show by myself 😅 such nostalgia!
It's been years since I've watched this episode. I have to say, I love how close Lois is with the Kents in general. I also love knowing that when it comes to the superspeed sequences, people are doing the mannequin challenge 😂 One story arc I don't think gets acknowledged much but I actually like Clark's development. It may have been frustrating a bit but I especially like that by season 8, as much as I think that season is the worst for Smallville, I appreciate that by that point, Clark starts to grow and do things beyond Smallville once he starts working at the Daily Planet. And I feel like that's when he's slowly embracing his destiny in his own way. He was so resistant to it and to change and I get that. But it seemed by season 7, everyone was growing as characters except maybe him. That's just something I remembered when watching the series. Lastly, I personally felt Smallville seasons 5-7 and 9-10 were my favorite seasons but the earlier seasons bring a lot of nostalgia and good feelings of life in the early 2000s.
Yeah... Michael.. you really need to stick around for season 9&10. They are pretty good. Even season 8. We had doomsday. At the time I didn't fully like how they did it. It's not bad. But we wanted more of it. But looking back... we got doomsday on the small screen! Nothing like this had ever been done. It was a huge deal. Season 10 has one of my top 10 episodes. Ryan will like it. For me at the time I was just starting my recovery process for ptsd. Early stages. There were so very moving moments to be because of that so I may be a bit biased. But I believe the episode is called homecoming.
I first started watching Smallville December 30 2023 and I finished the series within a month, watching 6, 7 episodes a day. And watching a series for the first time you don’t look for things you dislike and also I didn’t really notice all of the guest stars who were previously involved with Superman films and tv shows. I only recognized Christopher Reaves and Margot Kidder since I had watched their Superman movies. I watched Smallville again around March. And now I’m watching Smallville again for the 3rd time.
I think it was a great episode. There were a lot of elements but I wouldn't give up on any of them because it is all connected to the future episode. Lana and Clark awkwardness was real and relatable and it connects to Lana studying the meteor shower. The campaign stuff with Lois which was a great edition to this episode leading to Reckoning episode... Lex continues his campaign to senate and goes through another scolding from his father, which leads him further to darkness. This episode gets 🌹 🌹
I love how Michael says Lerve. That’s how my husband & I text it. So much so that my phone automatically corrects love to lerve (or leave which can be awkward).
When I first saw this episode during broadcast, Clark moving faster than a speeding bullet was the coolest scene, with every one else frozen. This had not been done like this on TV before this point. This is long before the Flash series of CW and Quicksilver in Fox movie.

Craig and Kryptonsite are legendary. Used to go on that site all the time during Smallville’s run
That and 9th wonders for Heroes
Yessssss Talkville Wednesday!! Almost half way through the season and series!! ❤
Well, we did pass the worst of the season.
@@GabePuratekuta There is no worst in Season Five!
@@FatimaTomsEnough Only if you ignore Thirst.
@@GabePuratekuta I don't ignore it.
@@FatimaTomsEnough You don't ignore Thirst but think there aren't bad episodes in season 5.... That makes no sense.
Not sure if this was mentioned but I saw Manchurian Candidate for the first time and the scene where Lois shoots Jonathan was definitely a callback to that movie
Good catch! 👍
First time listener. So glad you guys are doing this. Smallville is one of my all time favorite shows! Keep it going. 👍
Long time caller?
Clark breaking Lana‘s heart over and over again, his gaslighting and being so insecure is just hard to watch!! 😪
I lovedddd Kryptonsite!! I was on there all the time during Smallville's run. So many threads to talk on. Aw man, great memories. ❤❤❤
Kryptonsite is how we got the news and updates about Smallville ! When the show was returning, who was returning, who was being cast, episode breakdowns, etc. Loved it!
Yes!! I was a member of Kryptonsite back in the day! That was the premiere website and message board for all things Smallville. Loved it!!!
Yes. This was my go to site for everything Smallville. I miss those days.
@@marlenesheffield8777me, too! I still have it bookmarked. 😂
Mine was Superman home page …
Martha looked great in this ep 🔥 when she takes out the Talon's garbage in that cute 60s college-girl outfit I totally thought that was Lois until she turned towards camera!
Same! I thought it was Lois until she turned around. But for me it’s a weird wardrobe choice. Out of character.
She embraced more of her sexy side in her last 2 seasons.
loving this fan-interview! great perspective and wealth of information 🤗
Craig from Kryptonasite! man I spent so much of my teenage years in that website!
Really great to meet the man behind Kryptonsite. I always followed the website back then. ;)
At the end of the episode, my favorite Depeche Mode song, "I want it all," was played. Just like Lex said in the previous episode.
I can only imagine Ryan’s face whenever a fan comes on the podcast and spoil what happens on the later seasons 😂
Why'd you do that to Ryan!?
I can't believe he completely disregarded that Ryan is watching Smallville or the 1st time!😣😤poor Ryan I don't think there's one plot point left that hasn't been spoiled for him already 💔
wait what did they spoil this time?
@@madfairy Nothing. At least nothing yet.
@madfairy what happens to Lex in the finale 🤦♀️
and so far they spoiled what happens to: Chloe S3 finale/S4 opener, Johnathan S5 100th ep, Lex/Lana S6. like it's not the end of the world, but the whole point of Ryan even being in the podcast is that he never saw the show right? so why not try to keep the major shocks fresh for him 🙄 😅
Man, I remember hanging out on KryptonSite back in the day, theorizing S1 and S2 stuff in the comments.
I miss the era where tv was escapism into another world and not an underlying lecture about social and political issues
With all the beatings Jonathan Kent gets over the series, I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t had more medical concussions, brain bleeds or some form of physical disability by now. He’s the real man of steel!
They all go to his heart.
he dies in a couple of episodes

Thanks Rosey, Tom and Bryce for staying politically neutral on this podcast and in the show. Also thanks first pod in awhile without too many ads.
18:45 and before and after it appears in the reflection of Michaels forehead what looks like the number 12. Reminds me of The Frighteners.
Kryptonsite was my jam back in the day
I think it was called Help or helpless but an episode of Buffy was delayed because of something that happened in America. It's the one where Buffy hears everything everyone says and learns about Giles and her Mam also 😊that someone is trying to off all the students. Kinda like what happened with Scream 3 but Buffy was eventually shown and not changed 😁💜👍🐾👋
Bullet catch scene was awesome.
Another awesome podcast- great guest- solid episode 🌹
Shout out to the editor…knocks it out the park every week 👍
Yes! Jason does a great job 🙌
tbh, during the podcast summer break, I did go back and watch S8-9 again 😂😂😂
@asyouwish3636 it used to be on tv when I was still in school, so I didn't had much time to watch it. I've rediscovered it in February of this year and since then I think I've watched it 3-5 times, revisiting some episodes and not the entire series sometimes. It's good,I love it even though some episodes are a bit bonkers but I guess that was the trend in the early 2000s
Enjoyed this episode ! Loved the guys on Talkville
31:40 I totally agree! It's the life Clark always wanted! And Lois never insisted on having someone powerful by her side! It was very fair to give this to the characters along with their young daughters! Thank you Tom and Erica!
@@gigigmd 1000% agree! ♥️♥️
This episode always reminded me of 24 haha
Happy TALK VILLE Wednesday ❤
When they showed the clip from vengeance with Jonathan on the tractor I teared up in 2 seconds. I was balling when that episode aired the first time.
Agreed, the Lois and Clark arc was done to perfection, imo. That slow burn was peak! Although I think it dragged a little at season 8 post wedding (iykyk) but when it finally came together it was very satisfying.
Agree too! Loved their arc and chemistry!
i also love how they made her view of him change over the years: obviously she was attracted but between her cousin (who she loved like a sister) crushing on him and he still in love w Lana, she just automatically pushed him into "the friend zone" and I was thinking about how all those times he saved her, in Lois' POV Clark wasn't even involved. after watching her knock out yet another bad guy at end up this ep, my mind flashed over to S9 the zombie ep and at the end she tells him how she's seeing him in a new light ❤❤❤ just perfection. Clark never had to lie to her, just in the process of protecting his secret she came to think he was the one who needs help and as he starts to let his feelings for her in and stops hiding his presence she sees him as the hero he is
The opening scene hits different these days
What Lionel burned: 100% proof of Clark's secret. Lionel wants Lex to lose

@jonjanoski4955 I mean, tbf, you don't *have* to watch every episode. Just watch the episodes that you really wanted to know about during Smallville's run. However, if you want to watch every episode, then you have a week between every new episode to catch up.
@@jonjanoski4955 No. Of Smallville.

TalkVille Wednesday ❤️💙🤘
Podcast Wednesday!
Talk Ville! Good episode gang.
1000% agree with Craig about Santa in Lexmas. That kept it from being one of my top episodes.
Yay. The time stamps are back. Thanks editor.
Highlight of my week is when a new Talkville video comes out :-) Thank you so much everyone who makes it possible.
And the episode after that at the end is a clip they watch on the tv and Jonathan says wave bye bye to mommy and he waves bye bye I cry every time 😢
Same here!
The answer as to what Clark tells Lana: "I was only mostly dead. Now, mostly dead is slightly alive."
My wife and I are currently going through the show for the first time! We just started Season 9 and we've been enjoying it a bunch! We're both 29 now but we wished that we would have given it a chance when it was airing on TV lol
Lois had military training, probably had more chance of hitting Kent than Baldylock.
Craig - I also love the Crisis Cameo Scene ( I thought I was the only one who loved it.
She was sincere, and I trust what she told me (it was the Smallville we know, years after the finale, our Lois and Clark finally got married, and actually had kids.)
There is so much negativity in certain Smallville groups online right now, and it can be depressing if you let it get to you.
Talkville ❤❤❤❤❤ let's gooooooooo
The initial *pop* from a gun would alert Clark. yes, the bullet may be halfway to its target by the time Clark hears that pop, but he would then super speed well beyond sound. At least, that's my idea.
Man, Kryptonsite brings back so many memories! I remember writing the Krypton alphabet and writing notes to no one cuz I watched the show by myself 😅 such nostalgia!
It’s a pleasure to listen to your voice, young man.
I love this episode, after this I found my favorite book, Sun Tzu The Art of War, and that is my favorite scene of the episode.
It's been years since I've watched this episode.
I have to say, I love how close Lois is with the Kents in general.
I also love knowing that when it comes to the superspeed sequences, people are doing the mannequin challenge 😂
One story arc I don't think gets acknowledged much but I actually like Clark's development.
Kryptonsite was my go to source for all things Smallville when the series first started!
Poor Shelby. This episode always brought me back to The Dead Zone for some reason even though it has a different outcome.
Im really wishing you could have gotten her on the podcast. She really did a great job as a next level crazy Lex fan
Michael says you all are not scientists. But Ryan, you said yourself Michael, he is a Ryan-tist.
Kryptonsite was the best for smallville news I'd be checking everyday during filming for the next season for any behind the scenes
