Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about the legend of Spyro series. I prefer the Legend of Spyro series than the other Spyro games.
It's nice to see people not dragging the legend of Spyro & Skylanders on this video. I'm not into telling people they have to like something, but I think a lot of people didn't like them just because they didn't want to, didn't want to let go of the original. Each reboot is different but they're all enjoyable in different to me.
See, I don't get why people hate on the LOS trilogy. I grew up with the original games and played the first game of LOS when a friend rented it when it came out. From what I remember it was alright. It was kinda cool. From what I see here it seems they had an idea and went with it till the end which is awesome and now I feel like playing the trilogy cuz it looks pretty good for that era.
Ricardo Contreras LoS gets a pass for its story being the best in the franchise & something I enjoyed despite repetitive gameplay from time to time. Skylanders took that away from being hated. LoS gets the respect for what it gave to SPYRO in a new direction at the time.
My personal thoughts on each game I've played from the series: - Spyro The Dragon - Pretty good for the beginning of the series - Gateway To Glimmer/Ripto's Rage - A great improvement to the core gameplay - Year of the Dragon - I have huge nostalgia bias towards this game - Season of Flame - Great for a portable Spyro game - Enter the Dragonfly - The first Spyro game I personally owned myself, I actually liked it at one point as time went on I eventually noticed the flaws - A Hero's Tail - Jak and Daxter gameplay in a Spyro game apparently worked well - Shadow Legacy - This game is so tedious to the point where I haven't finished it after 5-6 years, quit after the first boss - A New Beginning - Good for the first few minutes, Spyro games shouldn't have a heavy focus on combat - Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure - Sure the toys to life concept is great (I was a fan of UB Funkeys prior so I was twice as hyped) - Skylanders: Spyro's Universe - This was a really good game (Also due to nostalgia bias), shame it was shut down though - Skylanders: Giants - I'm not a fan of the Giants figures or the story - Skylanders: SWAP Force - The last Skylanders game with decent appeal, any other Skylanders game afterwards is just uninteresting to me I am really looking forward to the Reignited Trilogy, just like many other people.
OK, so this is my story. I haven’t been a Spyro fan for that long. I actually just joined 3 years ago. My first experience with Spyro was with Skylanders, however I never truly got into it as a whole, and I didn’t even know who Spyro was. But then, in 2015 long after I stopped with Skylanders, I was visiting someone who was playing the classic Spyro games at the time I arrived. I got curious and asked her what she was playing. She then proceeded to explain, and I got even more curious. I then told her how I had heard about Spyro from the Skylanders games before, but she didn’t seem to know what it was. After that day, I eventually got so curious that I looked it up on UA-cam. And what did I find? A video showing all cutscenes from The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. I watched the whole thing, and I immediately fell in love with it. So I then proceeded to watch theee hours of all cutscenes of all three games of TLoS. And I just kept getting more and more into it after that. I think I watched all those three hours of cutscenes three times before I found the first Spyro fan comic on the internet. ShaloneSK’s comic, ”Zonoya’s Revenge”. It was then I first found the Spyro fandom, and DeviantArt as a whole. Eventually, I found even more comics and art of it. I eventually even made up my own headcanon for the story itself with inspiration from other artists like WeirdHyenas and DragonCid. Heck, there are still things I adjust about the story I made to this day. Although, this series has made me despise Skylanders. I’m not going much into detail on exactly why, but I think it is mostly because I personally believe that Skylanders is so much worse than the previous games. This franchise and fandom has brought so much happiness to me, it has basically become a part of my life as a whole. It has made me better at both story writing and art. And if I even dare to say it, I think it actually has made me a better person. Everytime I watch the Reignited trailer, I smile. And I can feel so much emotion by just fantasising and listening to the wonderful music of TLoS. This franchise and its fans has really become a part of me, and that is something I am truly proud of.
Just seeing this again. I can't believe it's already more than 20 years since the birth of one of the best and most memorable dragons ever existed. And also, how with time had changed. And while the fandom keeps separated with their versions of Spyro, we all can agree In one thing. We all are Spyro, we love him, we enjoy his adventures, his friends, and his worlds, no matter what. OG Spyro World is so colourful and cool. Legend of Spyro World is so emotional and majestic. Skylanders World is so varied and refreshing. So, what better way to celebrate him joining all of us together?

I never got Spyro season of ice, Spyro season of flame, Spyro orange or the other portable ones. Nigga please, the only sad part of the story is Spyro not getting the nut for being the hero while Hunter is not doing anyhting, yet he get some good nut. Even then, the Legend of Spyro series had a much more mature story that actually makes you feel. Gameplay is trash though it did get a bit better in the 3rd game, but the story is very intensive, intriguing. Also the legend of spyro doesn't even have pop music, what kind of drugs are you even smoking?

I'm going to be honest here: I first knew Spyro in Skylanders Academy not long ago (the ending of S2 just left me hyped!), and i actually liked it so I wanted to know more about Spyro, then i knew that there were tons of Spyro games and i wanted to try them all, so i first started with The Legend Of Spyro Series and I LOVED IT (I finished the trilogy some days ago), and just the story along with the soundtracks were just awesome. Now I'm going to play the first 3 original Spyro games on the PSP to see what made Spyro such a loved character. Maybe I started in some sort of an inverted way, but idc, now that the Reignited Trilogy is coming, it just makes me want to play the original series even more!!
Heck yes! Skylanders Academy is actually pretty great. Much better than the Skylanders games. I'd say that version of Spyro is faithful to the attitude of the original version and the story has enough depth to be comparable to the Legend series. Academy would be a great way to be introduced to Spyro.

Both. Right it's SPYRO because of his trilogy this year while Crash already did his. I think Spyro has more of a nostalgia tingle then crash since its most forgotten passed times then crash is.
So there was the Classic Era, the Awkward Era, the Legends Era, the Skyland Era, and Finally the Reignited Era. Spyro has had one heck of a ride; pray that Spyro 4 will be Reality!

Being a huge fan of Star Wars, I completely freaked out when I first saw his name scrolling in the credits. For any other Star Wars fans, here's another thing: Corey Burton, voice of Count Dooku in the Clone Wars played Volteer. For any How to Train Your Dragon fans out there who have seen the shows, Cynder in Eternal Night I believe, is voiced by the actress who played Heather.

i agree that the game was good. But to mentioned Spyro's name in the game was disappointing as we expecting a new line starting after DotD but then it never came untill Spyro has mentioned as Skylanders. Spyro should've come as himself with his own storyline instead being a minion character of a kindergarten video games as Skylanders. He deserve wayy more things than being a character on that game

Man, if Skylanders Spyro wasn't so hideous it might have been more popular/liked among OG fans. The way they designed him completely turned me off. Only similar in name. On another note, this has gotten me in the mood to play the classics. Time to boot the up emulator!

This is probably a pretty unpopular opinion, but I kinda like Skylanders Academy. I grew up playing the games and Spyro was my favorite character to play as. Even though I was already a teenager when the show came out, I got a bit nostalgic learning that there was a show, so I decided to give it a try. And I admit, the fact that Spyro was in it and voiced by another staple of my childhood, Justin Long, may have skewed my opinion slightly in favor of the show. But that aside, it's not half bad. If you get past some of the quirkiness of it, the sarcastic humor can be enjoyable, and it gets surprisingly dark for a kids show in the second and third seasons. I say, if you're interested, give it a try and be sure to keep an open mind.
My Favorite Spyro Games Are: Spyro the Dragon (1998) Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (1999) Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (2000) Spyro: A Hero's Tail (2004) Spyro Reignited Trilogy (2018)
Spyro has and always will be a major part of my life I even used to own the very first Spyro game so I'm really looking forward to this remastered version. I've been trying to get the original game for Playstation 1 off Amazon but every time it's there it's over a hundred something dollars or out of stock wish me luck I'll get it someday.

You know, I've only recent bought the whole Legend of Spyro Trilogy on PS2 and right now I'm at Eternal Night. Before I played it, I didn't like the way the franchise took. I almost hated it, but after playing New Beginning, HOLY COW, how wrong I was! I love that game and really enjoy Eternal night too. And the MUSIC, OH MY, the title music of New Beginning always makes me cry. I love it. REALLY. And I love eternal night too. It has better combat. Can't wait to get my hands on Dawn of the Dragon (people keep saying it's the best. Is it, TRAVIS?), but I'm also sad that it's the last one. Kinda wish they either continued it or remade it. Real CLASS.

I get this is an old video, but the Skylanders games on 3DS are very different from their console counterparts. Totally different gameplay, and they’re pretty good!
I actually would like to see every game past the OG 3 in HD, ngl. Maybe someone will even make a functional EtD mod for Reignited on PC. Keyword: _functional_. Maybe we'll finally get the competent Insomniac-Style non-OG we should have gotten after all these years!

Both. Right it's SPYRO because of his trilogy this year while Crash already did his. I think Spyro has more of a nostalgia tingle then crash since its most forgotten passed times then crash is.
Robro Dorno Reignited Trilogy actually got more popular than N Sane Trilogy. And during its first week after the announcement too.
The reason for this is because Spyro actually isn't as popular as Crash, which makes the fact it's returning a much bigger deal.
Robro Dorno it's probably according the the Spyro fan base he's suffered from developer to developer because of the ownership from various publishers.
Hearing the songs from the legend trilogy make me want to cry for some reason

I didn't know that there were spyro games on cell phones back in the early 2000's.
So there was the Classic Era, the Awkward Era, the Legends Era, the Skyland Era, and Finally the Reignited Era. Spyro has had one heck of a ride; pray that Spyro 4 will be Reality!

But to mentioned Spyro's name in the game was disappointing as we expecting a new line starting after DotD but then it never came untill Spyro has mentioned as Skylanders. Spyro should've come as himself with his own storyline instead being a minion character of a kindergarten video games as Skylanders. He deserve wayy more things than being a character on that game
The Skylanders Ingame model wasn't that good, but the academy one was good wtf why can't activision have good games they get COD in ultra HD and that but they don't have skylanders academy graphics in skylander game I'm confuuuussseeed.

This is probably a pretty unpopular opinion, but I kinda like Skylanders Academy. I grew up playing the games and Spyro was my favorite character to play as. Even though I was already a teenager when the show came out, I got a bit nostalgic learning that there was a show, so I decided to give it a try. And I admit, the fact that Spyro was in it and voiced by another staple of my childhood, Justin Long, may have skewed my opinion slightly in favor of the show. But that aside, it's not half bad. If you get past some of the quirkiness of it, the sarcastic humor can be enjoyable, and it gets surprisingly dark for a kids show in the second and third seasons. I say, if you're interested, give it a try and be sure to keep an open mind.

Spyro has and always will be a major part of my life I even used to own the very first Spyro game so I'm really looking forward to this remastered version. I've been trying to get the original game for Playstation 1 off Amazon but every time it's there it's over a hundred something dollars or out of stock wish me luck I'll get it someday.

You know, I've only recent bought the whole Legend of Spyro Trilogy on PS2 and right now I'm at Eternal Night. Before I played it, I didn't like the way the franchise took. I almost hated it, but after playing New Beginning, HOLY COW, how wrong I was! I love that game and really enjoy Eternal night too. And the MUSIC, OH MY, the title music of New Beginning always makes me cry. I love it. REALLY. And I love eternal night too. It has better combat. Can't wait to get my hands on Dawn of the Dragon (people keep saying it's the best. Is it, TRAVIS?), but I'm also sad that it's the last one. Kinda wish they either continued it or remade it. Real CLASS.
