This is the best cover he ever did. Dave and Tim played it live a year ago and the whole audience was so happy. Wish everything will go back soon and we can all enjoy live music again.
I love Dave’s music so much, but at the same time it reminds me so much of my ex. It’s like this painful/wonderful experience listening to his songs. She never knew who he was until I burned a couple of his albums for her, and he instantly became one of her favorites. I learned how to play a lot of his songs and we’d sit there some nights just singing along to them. It’s difficult now for me to try to even listen to any of Devour bevause it just reminds me so much of her. I just usually end up wishing it was years ago, hearing his songs. But this is great nonetheless.
I used to listen to Devour a lot when it came out. It came out just the time when we broke up with my ex. Now I don't listen to it because it reminds me of worse times. However, later, when Bury Me In Philly came out I used to listen to it even more heavily because I met my now wife. I still remember all songs from Devour by heart, but BMIP brings better memories.
I hear ya, man. Music is so ingrained in our memories -- tied to specific times and incidents in our lives. I couldn't listen to Ben Harper's first two albums for the longest time because they reminded me of an ex. Years later I was going through gnarly opioid withdrawals after being a junkie for five years, then going to a methadone clinic for six. I'd listen to this one particular Less Than Jake record over and over amidst feeling so damn miserable from dopesickness (so to speak). That was in 2008 and to this day I still can't listen to that one LTJ album. Oof, my skin is crawling just thinking about it.

Tim killin' it on keys and harmonies! I've watched this too many times to count.
And how about Brandi on SNL last night?! She's so great.
What a cover! This is a cover that changes lives!
I've probably never heard something so hauntingly beautiful before.

Dave Hause never disappoints! Nice choice of Carlile song. She’s something...wow
As a big Brandi fan when I saw there was a cover I was setting myself up for disappointment, but I must say this is a beautiful acoustic cover.
I love Dave
Fucking good!! The best!!!
