    This plane has sold! We had an awesome time flying it over the past decade and I highly recommend the Comanche 400 series.

    Assume it's been sold already right? Your instatag doesn't seem to work anymore either? How much did you sell it for and how much GPH for that 185 at Sea Level :) ?

    • @FlyingGrimaud
      @FlyingGrimaud  День тому

      Yes, to all of that. Sold for $105k before the market went super crazy. GPH is around 19-22gph depending on throttle and mixture settings.

    I used to drive a plane (DH104) with 2x 720’s in it, the FF on takeoff was unknown as it pegged the gauges😂

    I just bought a comanche 400 today... i might have considered this one if the price was posted. I hate it when the details are secretive!

    • @FlyingGrimaud
      @FlyingGrimaud  3 роки тому +1

      Congrats on the purchase! We just sold this one this week actually. We only kept the price secretive because we were getting a lot of bogus emails so the ideal was that anyone who is truly interested will email and ask. Congrats on the 400, you will love it.

    Get yourself a Pacer or taildragger Colt. You can outrun a Cub all day for pennies, parts are dirt cheap, good useful load, and a showroom Colt costs 1/5 of a ragged out Super Cub.

    You need to get a Beech Staggerwing! Almost the same speed and fuel burn!

    So what taildragger did you get?? I had a Mooney 252 turbo (loved it!) for work but sold it when I eased out of consulting. Then bought a J3 Cub and have been loving it!

      Nothing so far, he’s looking at a carbon cub, a kitfox, or just nothing and finding a local club/rental. I’m looking at instructing in the J3 on floats here in the next couple months.

      @@FlyingGrimaud I’ve flown Maules quite a bit; they’re excellent!! A friend has a Husky and he loves it. Lots of great choices. I like the near-zero expense of the Cub. Simple, fun. I’ve landed it on a grass RC field.

    Why have 400hp in a 4 seater? Ain't that a bit overkill?

    • @FlyingGrimaud
      @FlyingGrimaud  2 роки тому +2

      I am not sure who actually came up with the concept. Overkill? Absolutely. Fast and super fun, also yes. When the cruise speed is 185kts TAS in a single engine, non turbo aircraft and you experience that, it starts to make more sense.
