If you have to cast a healing spell that isn't Regen/Medica II and the rare afflatus to charge your flower (or whatever other lesser healers use for their mechanics), you aren't healing right.

Honestly I keep both the low level and high level versions of helios/holy/glare just to aoe heal no matter which dungeon I sync to. I usually don't heal party members one by one if I'm at lvl 80 and synced to a low lvl dungeon.

To be fair I've noticed a lot of people who did ultimate and got the shiny weapons tend to then stop playing for a long time and come back and suddenly they are super rusty and suck but are still going around with the shiny lol.
Yeah like it just a weapon it doesn't make u instantly the best at the game, and sometimes it happens u die a lot it a game, like the other night I died three time in that last stormblood dungeon even though I did that dungeon million times and I was doing fine, but for whatever reason yesterday I died so many times I was very sloppy, it happens
But the blood lily is a dps loss because it takes 4 GCDs for the dmg of 3 Glares...? I mean, it's still better than losing entire GCDs to healing, so you can be sure I'll only heal with lilies, but...x)

Here's another healer tip: If for whatever reason you should find yourself with a stack arrow and the rest of your party far enough away that they'll never reach you in time, pick your least favorite DPS and "Rescue" them to your position. Because no one should die alone. (This might not work on BLM, NIN, or RDM if you time it too early).
"Sometimes you get agro. If you get agro run to your tank do not sprint away. PLEASE, do NOT sprint away!" If anyone takes anything from this video it's this. I'm a whm main and holy shit the amount of poor tanks I've had to see chase healers in dungeons when I'm DPS is so painful. They follow you, you will take more damage the more they agro but the tank can't reach you or the enemies if you are running AWAY. Bring them to the tank. Even if the tank is bad and doesn't notice the agro on you, the enemies following you will get into their aoe and they'll grab agro anyway.

The zoom on his camera as he was playing healer had me shook. Not only do I play healer at max range, I also have my class macros for healers change my cameratilt for full battlefield viewing. Seeing him not only with his camera within conversation distance but also FACING BACKWARDS... it genuinely pained me.

And I got 2 commendations xD like...the other healer had to be pissed lol

@@someclevername8167 Shields stacking like that quickly becomes an overpowered mess. That was the case early on (back when WHM had Stoneskin) and it broke several encounters. Regens stacking are not nearly as overpowered.
The one problem I have always had when healing others is when they always, through no fault of my own, cause their health to go to 0. It's like they are doing it on purpose.

WHM senpai here...we have one of the highest potency abilities in the game...USE IT! As a famous healer once said "If the enemies die fast enough you dont need heals, if you're dead you also dont need heals."
Only regen as the tank is about to pull to get aggro, then make them chase you, not the other way around. It let's them know who's really in charge here.
Somehow this video helped me feel more comfortable healing. In fact, shortly after watching this I did a lvlng roulette as AST and only cast a healing spell 5-7 times. The more I dpsd the less I had to heal. Crazy! (I do not recommend following my example)

Run to the tank if you get aggro, that's something many people need to remember, even if you're not a healer.
Not wrong on some of those. Leading an enemy missed by the tank to the tank is something I should do more often during large pulls.

what u didn't show was the paladin using cover on the healer but the healer takes that as a reason to stand in all the aoes.

i think that was the best video that's happened to me this month. i learned a lot! i feel so completely ready to heal things now, i don't know what to do with myself. except pop Wings so I can look badass and wait for things to die because i don't need to heal nothing if the bad guy is dead.

You can use F1 to f8 to target people on the party list, which tends to be quicker then clicking their names in the party list

As a healer, your job is to deal damage, and keeping everybody alive means all of their damage counts as yours. 😉
