      Thank you! for me it was all about fingers. Especially index finger -first joint, and thumb.

    One question I have about this technique at 3:09 is whether to let the stick bounce 3 times, or if I should do 3 quick individual movements with the index finger.

      Thank you for your question. For that particular exercise you want to let the stick bounce 3 times. Basically like a double stroke only with 3 bounces. So no not 3 individual movements with index finger.

      Thank you! Detail is very important when it comes to technique. In the past I learned that when teachers weren't specific enough about grips, how to practice, etc. it was confusing to me. So I've tried to learn from that and apply it to my own teaching.

      Thanks Paul. Glad you found it helpful. It's not really hard to learn if you know how to practice it. Focus mostly on the fulcrum between thumb and first joint of index finger.
