Wow! I will go and have a look for myself at Shenzhen and the BYD headquarters. What BYD are producing is world beating. Very glad to have our Atto 3 as it's been wonderful for the last two years. Maybe there's a Sea Lion 7 with my name on it!
I read their press release about their mask making during the early days of the pandemic. Wuhan went into lockdown in Jan 2020, BYD decided to start making masks, and by FEBURARY 2020, they were making 5 million masks PER DAY in one of their factories, accounting for a quarter of China's mask production. So from beginning the R&D into making masks to becoming the single largest mask factory in the world took about 15 days. Madness.
Thank you for taking us with you on this journey. These are amazing things I wouldn't have gotten to see if you didn't show us. 😊 China truly is amazing.
I used to live there and neighbouring Zhuhai... Absolutely loved it and when you're used to the cost of living in Australia and the times when businesses close, it's such an awesome time.
Really awesome 👌 you got to see BYD in China 🇨🇳 My Parents will Get the BYD SEAL 🦭 U EV version (only version in Denmark 🇩🇰) 21 October looking for to drive it my self
The future is now... Only in China, here in the West we believe we are first world citizens but we are in the Paleolithic in comparison and look, I always say that comparisons are odious, but there is no way not to compare.
Your comments in the end regarding to questions asked were very good, unfortunately without answers. The most important questions to customers will be: What is the life cycle support of any of their models and what is their plans/timeline for local support.
Hey mate. Thanks for another great video! I’m wondering if BYD shared any insight with you regarding their 2nd gen blade battery? E.g. what model(s) will enter production with the new batteries and when? Cheers. Big fan from Brisbane.
Not getting to see you accelerate that Yangwang U9 somewhat saddens me a lot. A fellow Indonesian youtuber, CVT Indonesia was allowed inside Aion Hyper SSR and he also documented its crazy-fast acceleration ua-cam.com/video/1vg5o1Vy-GI/v-deo.html . It claims that it can reach 0-100 kph in 1.9s. It managed to do that in 2.2s with 2 passengers inside so that's not too far off. How come BYD isn't allowing you to do just that ? or at least do so under supervision of trained specialist driver..?
Any news on whether the new 5th gen DM-i cars e.g Sealion 5.0 or Sealion 6 2025 (not 2024 one) or Song L, or Plus or Pro, will even arrive to Australia next year 2025? Any inside info or any pipeline or plan?
We’ll have to use after market tyres for now: Braumach Spare Wheel and Tyre for BYD Seal | Testing & Demonstration ua-cam.com/video/uxedmLU0BAg/v-deo.html
Australian mainstream media including the ABC, The Ag, SMH etc will describe the hospitality and friendliness you received as ... "a carefully curated Chinese propaganda stunt played on hapless Australian auto media contingent." 100%
We also had a journalist from the AFR also with us. That’s one way to spin any visit to company facilities … regardless it was great to see how BYD operate
I used to be a technology reporter and when we get invited to one of these events (Sony, HP, Samsung) we are always treated well. (Only Microsoft was cheap! lol)
You need to speak slower...I had to replay your remark about BYD charging infrastructure in Australia. I think not doing it is a major mistake. They are doing it big time in Brazil with renewables too. BYD could make money from other EV brand owners it is a no-brainer.

Byds engineering diversity is absolutely amazing.
Trains, cars, robotic technology. The hidden R&D must be something else.
I’m sure the exhibition hall is only the tip of the iceberg …

Impressive and honestly, I am envious.....!
I feel very fortunate to have done this tour 🙏
Wow! What a tour. BYD is certainly an interesting company. Thank you for sharing your experience. Cheers from the Blue Mountains.
Pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it 👍

Seems like a very modern city
很羡慕你,有这样的机会详细参观BYD公司。
I feel very fortunate and grateful for the experience 🙏
Aussies really need to come up with something to be a part of this huge production machinery, selling rocks is not going to cut it in future.
Yup advanced manufacturing is the way to go
You can only make money by selling ore
@@c雨颖 you could process it before exporting it, value added.
The breakfast bar lood so good
It really was!
Relocating to Australia soon and would love to buy BYD car there to explore this beautiful country.
Welcome! Worth looking at as an option 👍

Wow that’s great to hear!
This hotel costs 300 to 400 dollars per night. It's not cheap! You were treated very well.
Indeed we were 🥂
Loved the behind the scenes look of this, great series. Had a laugh when I saw the passionate @CarSauce guys filming 😂
They were great company during our trip!

Certainly was an eye opening experience for all of us on the tour
china is so cool
It was certainly eye opening
The U9 can charge with two plugs at the same time for max speed charging seen the video but don't remember what speed was
Ah yes I think now that you’ve said this I remember seeing a video with the dual charging in action …

I think these questions regarding shelf life can only be examined with retrospectoscope
I wish to visit there
👍
Hope you enjoy that trip🎉
I really did 🥂

Pleasure! The Blade 2 battery was not publicly discussed with us during our visit
@@LudicrousFeed Thanks heaps for the quick reply. All the best and safe travels!
Do they offer facility visits for everyone who's interested or only by an exclusive invitation?
You’d need an invitation. We were part of the first Australian media contingent to visit 🙏
What about the BYD Seagull for the Australian market?
I’d love to see it in Australia
26:28 is that carsauce filming outside lol
Haha sure is!

No-one was allowed to be in the car as a driver or passenger (except to do stationary filming). Their house, their rules
@@LudicrousFeed show them that video and insist that Aussie like you MUST be afforded the same treatment like that Indonesian journalist. 🤣😂.
Nowadays 0-100kph speed need to add another 0.3sec to match the actual figure thx to elon musk.
Will any BYD coming to Australia have self parking like the Xpeng G6?
Hmm good question … depends on whether the SL7 will be on the new evo platform or remain on 3.0 as per current Seal
@@LudicrousFeed Thank you.
Don’t they currently? That is such a basic function. My four year old byd could do it from day one.
Not currently
Wow, they did great job, nice vedio❤
Cheers 🥂

guess who are shooting at 26:26?
The Carsauce boys!
18A looked comfy!
@@jezkemp712 Oh yes it sure was! 🥂
all U9 needs is wheel spacers to make it look a bit wider
That e-seed looks like my old VHS Rewinder
😆👏
Did anyone ask about BYD producing an EV with a spare wheel? Rural driving has both range anxiety and flat tyre anxiety. 😳
