    Thanks for the video in 2022. I used it to buy and install the mount on my old monitor and it works great!

    Great video! Loving it!
    I don't know how some people can have their screens so low. It confuses me! I use a 16:10 Dell Ultrasharp 24" display at its highest setting and it's almost perfect. Most people seem to like monitors down low for some reason.

    I just ordered an arm for my apple monitors and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to figure out how to remove the existing stand. But this tutorial makes it very clear! Thanks!

      Yes, why is it that you tubers doing videos like this (and I am thankful for it, don't get me wrong) always have these VERY long preambles before they get to the actual "thing" that they're doing?

    Really useful Video!! Can the vesa mount work for the latest standard 21.5" iMac, with the thinner display? Thanks

    I recommend an Asus VN247HP monitor for multiple monitor mounting. It is a very good high-quality monitor with a gorgeous full 1080p HD display and a very thin bezel which is less then 1 cm.

    Thanks for the video. You could put an external accelerometer* behind the monitor, then let it talk to your mac and change the rotation automatically. * For example using Arduino or something smaller/cheaper.
    I use a Mac app called "ResolutionTab" on my MBP, using a global shortcut I can toggle between two resolutions, that app also could do the trick for you (although it doesn't support orientation, you can always do a feature request ;-)

    Large mount bolts aren't lining up (off by 1-2mm). I have the bracket attached with 8 torx screws.... do I maybe need to redo that part?
    Note on alignment: Monitor arranged same as in video... the edge of where the screw hole is, is closest to you. So, off center. So, I can see the screw hole it is just off to the right (closest to FCC, etc letters).

    I did a quick little bit of research. you can order it with the mount instead of the standard base, but they don't seem to offer the mount as an after market part. That sucks to be honest.

    This is only relevant to pre-2013 models. I have a 2015 Imac and it is not possible to remove the base as described in this video. You need an adapter that attaches to the base.

    This question is unrelated to the vesa mount, i have an Apple 24" display and it doesn't tilt. It's stuck facing down, any suggestions on how I can fix it? Apart from taking it into the Apple store, of course! ;)

      Shaun Matthews is it locked in the down position? Or does it fall loose down to that position? If it's locked down have you tried using a card like in the video? Maybe it locked down there. If it's not that, maybe it's broken.

    Nice Video. In response to Ben Stickings, below, no you cannot use the VESA Mount Adapter on the 2013 iMac (21.5 or 27"). You have to order the computer with the VESA Mount adapter installed from Apple. I also found this out after ordering, receiving and trying to install the adapter for hours as shown in the video. Which part did they ruin? Best monitor I've used by a video long way and the new ones are better. I looked at others, nothing is close in my eyes. Ps the new Imani's bad though cause you can't after market the stand.

    • @DomKirby
      @DomKirby 8 років тому

      +TechMyLifeVideo Proprietary connectors, and a monitor with nothing special going on for three times the cost, and lack of VESA without a mount. You're paying extra for the apple on the back, not any extra quality.

    • @TechMyLifeVideo
      @TechMyLifeVideo  8 років тому +1

      +Dominic Kirby the quality is vastly better with Apple, on a wide range of level. Not in need of ports that are out dated. You pay more upfront and get greater live span and less issues.
