Adding Underglaze to Slip ...What Happens? - Hobby Potter Life

Coloring slip is usually done with mason stains, but I didn't have them on hand and wondered about just adding my underglaze colors to see how they turned out! . As I was getting ready to color some slip for the Hobby Potter Life group project of the month (On Facebook), I remembered I tried mixing underglaze & slip back in 2019 :D
I did it only this one time, then off I ran on another adventure. I think it's time to revisit it in 2021 give it another go! I love the palette knife painting concept with slip so I need to practice a little more with different colors... (although it works pretty well, I have to share that it's probably more expensive using underglaze than just buying the stain and add it to the slip :)
