Fun fact: all the towers you see actually are within sight from each other. They're watch towers so once one tower spotted invaders they would light up a fire to signal the other tower in line of sight and so on. That way the whole island is alerted and villagers have time to retreat to safety.
I have been to the blue lagoon. And the sea is beautiful. So blue and so clean. Malta truly is a gem. I loved my times there. Been twice to Malta. Loved it each time. The people are friendly. It is a very calm atmosphere there. Love it. I would go back. .Gozo is very nice too.
Yes Blue Lagoon is so beautiful, I couldn't believe how much the water looked like a typical pool color. I enjoyed seeing the various spots in the area that were used for movie scene backdrops. Thanks for going the extra mile to show where they were filmed, I think it's so cool.
When the water’s so blue, you start wondering if you’ve been transported to the Caribbean instead of Malta! Thank you for sharing both the beauty and the practicality of visiting Comino. It’s helpful to know about booking ahead and the food options on the island. It’s toobad that you couldn't explore the tower and but thanks for sharing the history behind it
In addition to the two movies mentioned that were done on location here , the 1980 film " The Blue Lagoon" was also done partially on Comino Island. The lone ex prison, which now houses two residents, felt like a ghost town in itself. Love the drone footage, and thank you for a great video! Cheers!🍺🏖
Been watching you guys / subscribed for very long time.. Love the way you narrate and show the scenery (not just yourself, like many other channels). Commentary while seeing the places you visit is the best.. Keep it up. Hope to see you in Australia some time...
Lovely shades of blue. Looking forward to your videos from Sardinia, a place I want to visit too. The bluest waters I've ever seen in the Mediterranean are on the Greek island of Lefkada. If you ever get there, check out Egremni Beach, Mylos Beach, Porto Katsiki Beach and Megali Petra Beach. Like swimming in Gatorade!
@@JumpingPlaces Wouldn't be a bad spot for your next Greek adventure :) Lefkada, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Paxos, Anti Paxos, and Ithaca are all lovely, as is Corfu. You could even combine it with some nice coastal towns like Parga and Sivota, and move more inland to Epirus to see some of the most rustic and charming places Greece has to offer. The Peloponnese is another area of Greece I think you guys would absolutely love. So, so much history and rural charm there, and some of the best landscapes available in Greece!
Sardina in amazing, traveled by car then flew over to Puglia and did the same. You would enjoy it. When we did Comino we were on the first boat to arrive from Gozo in the morning and had the island pretty much to ourselves in the beginning. Enjoying your videos. @@JumpingPlaces
Good thing I kept watching because I was going to say you MUST go to Sardinia and you mentioned it. I guarantee the beaches are 100 times better and in some you'd think you're in the Caribbean. There is also a big difference between North & South so you need lots of time to appreciate both. You'll go back multiple times to see it all ♥
Another great video! The drone shots really complement the regular shots and add so much to the video. Malta is definitely an interesting place. (The Count of Monte Cristo is second or third on my list of classic books I want to finally get around to reading. I liked the old Richard Chamberlain movie from years ago; I'll have to check out the more recent one).
Since you gave us a heads up about watching the complete advertisement we have been diligent....our way of supporting your videos ... Nice Malta visit...atentos saludos 🙋🏼♂️🙋♀️✌️🇨🇦 cheers
Cool , Blue Lagoon , is there a Blue grotto on Malta ? Was 16 CCF on the RAF base there . Took us up in a Wessex , chucked the liferaft out , then us :-) We waited until rescued , doing basic drills . Between islands , draw a blank , unless we had a military ferry . Could have been Gozo boat dropped us and we walked a long way to our billet :-) Then a large 30 seater truck . Happy days . Thanks .
I have studied English in Malta many years ago when I was 18 and have been to Blue lagoon multiple times during that time but I had no idea that movie Count Monte Cristo was shot there. I also think it is amazing movie 👍
Dang , sure looks like the old RAF base there , mucho confusedo , one place we got dropped and walked to the billet . Back then passed through tiny village , sewerage factory was actually where they made wine :-) So must go back to Comino :-) was advising of something blue :-)
Fun fact: When Queen Elizabeth (before she was Queen) married Prince Phillip, she moved immediately to Malta because that is where Prince Phillip was stationed.
@@JumpingPlaces You can combine in one day- Blue Grotto + birzebbuga sandy beach (next to the port with big container ships) + fisherman village marsaxlokk (have fishing market, restaurants and bay full of traditional maltese boats luzzu.
I was wondering if is there anyway to upload your videos with a transcription in Portuguese. I follow your channel from Arizona , USA . I love your videos and always wanted to recommend it to my friends in Brazil that don’t speak English.
Nice beach but seems all tightly packed together, rocks with no space for sand or pebbles to lay down after swimming. All shops and places to eat snuggled into that one narrow rocky path. Looks uncomfortable.
yes there isnt really much beach in this place, the better rocky areas to lie down are all taken over by the sunbed/umbrella companies and also where the boats stop. However on our coastal walk we did notice many "secret spots" where you could like down by yourself and swim easily
Sad how they ruined the blue lagoon. Thank all the corrupt politicians for issuing all the permits for all that crap. Used to be beautiful. The only good thing is that now you cannot go more than a certain point with a boat, so the bay is at least free for swimming, but all those Kiosks are an eye sore, and the rubbish that is left there all the time is disgusting. Those God awful Pinapples are an abomination !!!!
Reading through the comments on here it is clear the vast majority have never to the Blue Lagoon. This is one of the worst places ive ever been to in my entire life. It was absolutely horrendous. It was monumentally rammed with tourists, and i mean RAMMED! It is also dangerous with its very rocky and uneven terrain. We couldn't find anywhere to put an towel and nor was there any shade whatsoever. Not only that it is full of stinking pop up food stalls with rubbish and fag buts everywhere. The toilets were also absolutely disgusting. My wife said the womens toilets was full of period blood clots on the floor. The place was that bad we actually got back on the boat and went back to Malta. It was a total waste of money and a waste of a day. Take a look at the real reviews of this awful place to see for yourself. It such a shame as it is beautiful just absolutely ruined by human beings. Do not waste you time or money on this disgusting place. Far nicer places in Malta to visit.
@@JumpingPlaces Yes. When the vast majority of people go on holiday! This is not an excuse for how disgusting and dangerous this place is. The only place in Malta where there is an ambulance permanently stationed! There are far nicer places to go in Malta even during busy holiday periods.
well it is one of the reasons though that it was rammed with people, i have been during the summer holiday months and also other months and there is quite a big difference. I didn't really see how it is so dangerous to be honest, similar to any nature trails. There is a proper walkway to the main beach,
@@JumpingPlaces Many people will totally disagree. You only have to read this years trip advisor reviews to see how many people have had exactly the same experience as us. There's no excuse for how rammed and filthy this place was regardless of the time of year. Everywhere else in Malta wasn't like this at all. Golden Bay was busy but clean and safe.
