The way you can know who it is blindfolded tells me how good of a coach you are. You're clearly dedicating time to every student regularly. Great video
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu wasn't sure where to post this but I would love to hear your opinion. You like to pull guard / ankle pick. It is a solid 1-2 and I thank you for the info. Question. Do you ever arm bar straight off the guard pull attempt? Thoughts on this?
@@phredbookley183 not really a one two because you're never attempting to pull in the first place, just selling it. It would be more similar to feinting the jab to land a cross. Similar but different. Ya definitely. I've done that before in competition. However good grapplers can usually position themselves to prevent an immediate submission off the pull. In general against good guys an armbar from the bottom is low percentage. Bluebelts and such not as hard.
I love how every time you describe someone in the voiceover, you're showing them respect and compliments. I imagine they enjoy watching your videos (especially the ones they're in), and that probably means a lot. Even if you trash talk them while you're rolling with them. Which probably means a lot, too.
Started BJJ about a month ago. Now I find myself refreshing my UA-cam page in hopes of a new Jordan Teaches JiuJitsu video. Thank you for the great content!!!
That's so awesome seeing a coach so dedicated and able to guess and know his students. I wish we had more like so in Europe. Nice content, so happy to see such a great and healthy gym atmosphere
Great video as always! Everyone loved the challenge! I was super impressed by your performance and I'm happy I was able to be apart of this challenge! Looking forward to the next one! 🙏🏼
Having a coach like Jordan I’m sure increases your ability to learn exponentially. Awesome video as always! Let’s keep this channel growing so you’re able to do more fun videos like this in the future 👊
The humblest cocky grappler, you seem like a great coach and person!! Wish you and your team the best from Italy! And hope to be able to visit your gym one day! OSS! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Always a good time. Thanks for breaking things down in a way that's Easy to understand as well. No fluff or fillers, just good content. Peace All. Shalom
Jordan and Nikki foster a culture of family at the gym. They host BBQ's, poker nights, group night out. Hell, when we were all stuck at home sick, Nikki made a supply run for us at the grocery store. They are absolutely fantastic!
It's quite interesting to see that everyone is going for legs to go straight for guard, since he's blindfolded it would be easier to take another approach from an angle. I think it's just difficult to think outside the box when everyone's used to going for legs to pass guard when ignoring them isn't usually an option
Great coaching strategy! We do the same at our school but I have trouble losing the blindfold while rolling. It didn’t look like yours came off at. Where did you get yours?
Thanks man! Im brainstorming as much as I can to find more ideas. For this one, Nikki thought of the guess who, and i thought of the $$$ and submission bonus. Team effort 🙌
Such a cool and wholesome video idea. Love how you keep innovativing. Good on you for letting your students shark tank you blindfolded too haha they're weren't any slouches either
Thank you! I love thinking a new things to do for the channel. That's where I have the most fun. I always try to make these types of things as hard as possible for myself haha, which makes it even more fun!
At 5:00 it looks like Geoff was nice to you and let go of the handcuff?? I wonder if it was intentional😅 Is there any footage of you getting submitted? I’ve seen most of your videos and I don’t think I’ve ever seen you tap😂 Love your videos, it has helped me massively!
Hi teacher, one question, in the minute 12:04 when u are in middle of the arm lock attack, you raising your middle finger like Craig jones, why? Raising the middle finger help to avoid the arm lock? Thanks!
Great video! 4:08 - "maybe I'll give some back" - Pretty much all Canadians I've met have been such lovely people. What a great positive stereotype. Nobody in my gym would've thought that way.😆 10:13 - Is no one else gonna make a comment about Canadians and heightened senses of smell..? Ain't no nerds here. Edit: Congrats on the belts! I should've waited til the end of the video to comment. 🤦🏽♂
Hi Jordan! Thank you so much for your amazing videos! I was wondering if you could touch on the topic of avoiding positions that can cause serious injury to the neck. I’m 2 months in to bjj and recently after a failed triangle choke, I was stacked with only my neck as base and felt that at any moment my partner could have broken my neck if he decided to put his weight on me. I’m a bit shook and want to avoid situations like this at all cost. If you can make a video on how we can always avoid being in these extremely dangerous positions, I would really appreciate it!🙏 thanks for all your amazing content!
Thanks man! Sounds like a great video idea. I do have that content available in my mat safety course, but it won't reach the same amount of people as if I made a youtube video about it. Now that you've suggested it, I think I'll make that video sometime soon. Spreading awareness for safe training is super important to me. Everyone should train safe. Sad to see so many reckless people.
I recently came across an oooooold video where the black belt challenged a white belt, where the black belt was blindfolded, wearing boxing gloves, and had his feet tied together. After the blindfold went on, the white belt secretly switched with a competitive purple belt. The whole dojo was in on it.
Definitely not a weird thing to recognize people from their scent, especially if they do have a distinctive scent. Smelling bad is something completely different. Oh and also, you're blindfolded so your other senses are more sensitive to make up for the lack of one.
I know what half the guys at my gym smell like. Not like I can say what they smell like but if I smell it I know who it is. Lol I remember when I first started I found it weird because after I would smell like other people not myself.
