Nod to the VLM , a real sense of a musical event happening. Music rises and swells then recedes , utterly riveting. I own a classic Empire 999xex with nude elliptical but only play very sparingly as original styli are virtually impossible to find. After hearing this perhaps I should owe it to myself to perhaps add the VLM to my collection.
Stereo store I worked in stocked Ortofon, Shure, ADC, Empire and Audio-Technica. AT and Ortofons were almost impossible to keep in stock...they just kept selling and selling. Occasional Shure sale (V-15 and M-97) and almost never the ADC or Empires. In the two years I worked there, we never restocked the ADC or Empires. We would special order MC carts rarely. But that's what we had and sold.
I dont know much but loved it, ngl✨

The output of the VLM sounds noticeably louder despite matching figures ! ?
