I was immediately enthralled at Empire’s midrange smoothness in both models!* Those cello volleys were a cushiony, luxurious experience that I thoroughly enjoyed! In both displays, there is a certain section of the proceedings, where the snare rolls peak in excess level causing a distorted fatigue, but the level quickly quells to that normal even(ness), and I can resume enjoying this fine music. The slight nod goes to the 999’s quieter surface tracking in its transitions. I truly wish I had the to$h to own, and restart this fine manufacturer. They had fantastic designs!*💎🌹☀️✨
My 600t was also a moving iron Empire . The moving iron does provide a nice sound stage. They generally do so. It's a good cartridge too and came with a nude mounted 0.2x0.7 mil diamond. I'm not finding a suitable replacement stylus for it yet.

The moving-iron offers more of everything, but its greater separation and dynamics stood out to me.
