Thank you so much! I think if you see some of my mistakes it takes the fear out of trying it. It's a matter of working around little mishaps and for those big ones, it's only paper.
Love, love, love the technique of silhouettes! Thanks for sharing that! What did you use to erase the smudge on the edge of the horse card please. Thank you!
Love the technique. What black inks did you use for stamping? I noticed you had a couple of different ones. Also, what black ink should be used with alcohol markers vs. the regular markers? Thank you
I have been Using Gina K Amalgam Ink for my regular stamping. It can be used for both watercoloring and alcohol Ink. The other ink I use is Versafine Pigment Ink Onyx Black which gives a really crisp image when stamping sentiments. If you heat set it can be used for watercoloring too.
Hi Gail, absolutely LOVE watching your techniques. I have some questions, why are you using the glycerin with the Stampin Up inks? Do you use glycerin with other inks? Do you use the glycerin in place of water because of the paper you are using (non watercolor paper)? Thank you for sharing your talent. Take card, stay safe. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ~Barbara
Hi Barbara, Thank you. I use glycerin because it makes the ink glide over the paper and blend easier. Glycerin can be used with any waterbased ink so that would include watercolor markers. When I am sponging on regular cardstock is when I use it. I also use glycerin for coloring which I will be doing in tomorrow's video. Stay tuned. Hope this helped
Could a person use the backside of the stamp in black ink and create a silhouette as well? I'm new to stamping so I hope this is not a stupid question.
I have never done it. It won't be as detailed and it will be going the reverse direction but now you have my mind thinking for a few specific stamps. I will be trying a few ideas this afternoon. If what I'm thinking works then you'll be seeing a new video.
I just love your cards Gail. You inspire me. I especially love the Just Breathe card; so needed this message right now. I’m filled with such anxiety. Be safe and stay well.
Thank you Barbara! I have been feeling much anxiety as well. We just all have to be careful, breathe and know that we are all going to get through this.
Such beautiful cards Gail. I'm so glad your doing ok. Watching you color or make your backgrounds sure relax me. Thank you so much... What you tube site do I get on to watch your coloring? Stay safe..
Thanks Cindie! I color in my sharing group on Facebook. I should start putting them on my youtube channel for coloring. the sharing page is Stamp with Gailsu Sharing group
Hi Gail. I’ve been watching you for awhile and just realized that some how I hadnt subscribed but I am now! Love this tutorial! Could you tell me what stamp set you used for the hoarse silhouette sentiments? You soo right. Just perfect for what’s going on in our crazy world! Thank you for all your inspiration!
Thank you! The sentiments came from Friend Like You. I will be doing more cards tomorrow (Sunday) with some more sentiments for this crazy stuff we have been going through. Tropical Theme
I absolutely love this technique! You've inspired Me to make My own backgrounds and be creative. My friends are telling Me I'm an Artist, but I'm still learning. I have the aqua painter's, but I haven't seen any with a wide end. When you stamp the image you are coloring in with the black marker, do you use Versafine or Gina K basic black? And, are you using wisper white cardstock or watercolor paper? Would blending brushes work to get this effect? Can I use alcohol or water with blending brushes without hurting them? Thanks so much for sharing your creativity and your artistic talents, I truly love them. Not many Demonstrators do these techniques and go for the DSP and that just doesn't speak to My heart as much as making My own backgrounds. I just need to understand which Type of Ink to use for the Sentiment to stand out bolder. Sorry for so many questions Gail. 💞💝👍 I really love your style of creating! Thanks for brightening My day! Stay safe and well!
Thanks Bev! Versafine I use mostly for sentiments but if you heat set it you can use it for watercoloring. I mostly use the Gina K for everything else because you can either watercolor or use alcohol. I used whisper white and shimmery white for those cards. The wide brush I think I got with a set but don't remember where. You can look on other sites and maybe find it. It does come in handy for backgrounds.

How do you decide when you use glycerin and when you don't?
If I don't think it's blending well I use it. Also when I want a darker smoother blend.
Thank you for your quick answer.

What sort of brush are you using-with the alcohol
The brushes are Aqua painters.
You haven't used glicerine in a long time
lol .. you're so right and I missed it.
