A bit. Mostly for decorative projects and just for fun. Never a bed quilt though!

Do you have to use a special type of thread when using a midarm or longarm? I normally use serger thread, multipurpose thread or the thread from hobby lobby (which is very linty).

Yes, I prefer Isacord polyester embroidery thread. Serger thread is a bad idea because it's so linty.
