  • In this episode, we visit the town of Lethbridge in Victoria, and free camp at the near-by Bunjil's Lookout.
We learned that the Lookout is popular for people to free camp (if they are self-contained) if you are traveling on the Spirit of Tasmania, as it’s only 20 minutes from Geelong with toilets available nearby.
We enjoy part-time van life (and now also camping with our Jimny), creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) on Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. In our episodes we stay at free and paid campsites, showing our tips and tricks for making life on the road easier and more fun. Come join us on our adventures! If you’re into RVs, camper vans, caravans, swags, vans, a tent, and Jimny camping, our UA-cam channel is for you!

Great episode guys. Love all the episodes that you post every week. After watching the Lancefield and Tooborac episodes we drove out there one weekend and loved it. Visited the bakeries and both had the yummy pies. As for where to go next. I’m voting for Adelaide. Thanks guys and Twyla. 😘

Now that you’ve mentioned bakery I feel like a pie lol 😂 Thanks for the suggestion to Adelaide. We’ve got a lot to consider on this trip we’ve had so many suggestions it’s been great. Hi Dean and Adam, we much much enjoy your adventures showing off bakeries, points of interest and camp cooking. It all makes for a great mix. The last episode I watched you wanted tips for where to travel as you are going to have a 3 week trip. I haven't done the Silo Art trail personally but know that it passes through a lot of western district towns where there is free camping. If you went south to north you could free camp along the Murray when you pass into South Australia and thereabouts. There are dozens of places in the Riverland, then you could head back down through the Barossa etc. There are a few freebies along the way, Burra Gorge being one where we have stayed. I think one called Farrells Flats or something similar too. Lots of history in SA.....Peterborough, Orroroo etc. We look forward to seeing whatever you get up too, and safe travels as you go. We have a Tommy Camper, they a worth checking out if you ever see one in your travels, best of luck, Joanne, Huonville Tasmania

great episode even though there was no bakery lol. We are the same about Tassie with our dog..if you were able to even just go down and check on your dog would be good..if and a big if we did do it then it would be a day crossing, we would sign the waiver and leave her in the van with a valium (twyla would only need a 1/2 lol) to sleep the trip ..but then theres so much that is National Park down there so it would be very restrictive with a pooch.. its all on the bottom of the bucket list.
where ever you decide to go is fine with me lol ..love seeing all the little wayside places that bi passes have ...um..bi passed lol. Safe travels.

Great video again guys! Jerilderie isn’t too far over the border into NSW. There is a self guided walking tour of Ned Kelly if you are into that kind of history. There is a nice lake in the middle of town you could probably free camp at also. Check it out and see if it’s something that might interest you.

Tasmania is on my bucket list, so maybe a trip there would be good. Otherwise you could look at visiting some of the national parks of both Victoria and NSW. Recently went horse riding in the VIC High country. Spectacular scenery. However you would need to go in the Jimny with better tyres in many sections. A trip following the silo art trail would be interesting too.

I'm a (nearby) local, you did pronounce Bunjil correctly. There's a Bunjil geoglyph not too far away at the You Yangs in Little River. As for where to go, my vote is inland NSW or the top east of SA, or a hunt for the best vanilla slices in the country.

June is a Elvis rockabilly expo in Queensland/ Coolangatta border. Thats our plan. If I'm driving I plan to stop off in Lightening ridge NSW you might be interested. Its a black opal town with FREE hot mineral springs. The town is very kitschy.
Or what about outback SA including Barossa Valley. The Ghan trail journey is amazing. The Afrghan Camel trail up to Uluru. We did in 2020 on the Ghan outstanding sunrises and heaps of interested things. You can drive it.
This spot looks great for a spot over or weekender. I don't understand why they will not allow pets in the ferry or people can't check their pets 10/11hrs is a long time being stuck in the car,/van.

Hi, loved this episode. My husband and I lived in Lethbridge back in the eighties. It's where we met. My mother and stepfather opened the corner store back then. So I lived in the house and worked in the shop. We moved away for a couple of years then moved back and I worked in the shop again when my friends owned it.

A good, and closest, free camp in the wine region of hunter valley is at McNamara park Broke. There are a number of wineries at Broke, one with a sculpture park, but it also only a twenty minute drive to the centre of the Hunter Valley Wine Region where there are numerous cellar doors and other attractions such as the Hunter Valley Gardens and Harrigan’s Pub. We also have a transit camper van. We live about an hours drive from Broke and always stay there when we go ‘up the valley’.
