I love it! I'm really glad that you liked my work, and that you took the time to put this video together. It's always nice to hear the thoughts of former Hatena users. The section on how nostalgia can become a dangerous coping mechanism if we're not careful was one of my favorite parts. It's not easy to take off the rose colored glasses when we look back. I appreciate your anecdote about your nostalgia rabbit hole. I’ve always been the nostalgic type and over time I’ve realized that my nostalgia kept me from appreciating what I had in the present. Whole periods of time with friends or coworkers would pass and I didn’t realize how much I cherished them until they had moved on or we stopped talking. It’s like you said, nostalgia’s fine and nice but it can’t be the only thing one focuses on.
I can recall the literal first time I experienced nostalgia. It was when Pokemon Gold & Silver came out and I returned to Kanto and saw how the world had slightly changed.
I remember watching the flipnote video when it was just out and having my mind blown when I tried to find more of your stuff. Thanks for consistently providing me with high quality deep dives and all sorts of crucial information for already a year now!
