I prefer concealed carry. And I almost always have more than one weapon on me. If one is compromised, I like to have a backup. My sister always had a boot knife in her purse. When she would sit at the bus stop, she kept one hand inside her purse on the handle of the knife. I suppose most folks thought it was a pistol, but either way, they left her alone.
I totally agree with your stance on open carry and your comments carry. Thanks for pointing out this product I have been zip tying tech locks on mine which isn't ideal. You are the best!
You answered every question I had. Nice video and very thorough on showing exactly how it mounts. Just got my mini leatherneck yesterday so this was perfectly timed video for me. Thank you!!!
At 5:45 i never even thought of caring it that way in your pocket. I'm definitely going to give it a try. I have the Cold Steel C-Clip Small (Pack of 2) in my Amazon cart now. LOL
You don't want to know how many times I tried to put my clips on for horizontal carry. Not to mention how many times I put it on backwards. LOL Mike By the way you do good videos. Loved the one with the cable ties,
If you're gonna use that Clip on a Daily Basis, you might want to check the Tightness of those screws Every few days or you can just put a bit of loc tite on them. Some of us just Naturally have a Strong Presence and get Noticed when we don't want to be. I try to be the Grey Man as much as I can. Anyway, that Clip allows for more Options and that is Always a Good Thing.
Just to add to the discussion, I appreciate the C Clip, and tried it, but for discreet carry, I have found that a paracord wrapped to the end of the kydex sheath and then looped around my belt, and then placed in my front pocket, is very discreet and actually easier for me to deploy. I love the Cold Steel Tanto Kyoto for every day carry this way.
Thanks for sharing that. Can't have enough of those clips and hardware. My Master Hunter came with one. Think I'll leave the Spike a neck knife for now.
Growing up in AZ never got a second look open carrying. Now here in KY im always getting weird looks and stupid questions so i just got the mini tac bowie an c clip for this reason.
I just wish the clip was a little wider so i could get 3-4 screws in it… or the holes were spaced apart to better fit the clip. It works tho. And the between 2 of these mini leatherneck’s I got and the clips i dont think i hit $50 yet so i cant really cry about much lol.
Just found this video and I love cold steel c clips they work very well I have one on my mini tac Bowie set up horizontal carry and it works great and nobody knows you even have it on you works great for pocket carry too ! Nice video 👍😎
This is reason why i bought Kyoto 👍 But... using it for outdoor and trekking, in nature, a lot of movements... under certain circumstances it could possibly cause serious belly injury (knife is not locked and secured). For example fall from steep slope.
😳 hey I just ordered these off Amazon. Lol Two days ago. Got a friggen headache from the hours of looking. Knew what I wanted but just lacked the name of it
So the hardware that comes with the small C-clips will fit through those very small holes in the Kyoto sheath then? I was wondering about that because I have tried all my other style belt attachments on it and none fit. Haha, I actually did a large C-clip installation vid on my SRK a few years back, and you're right, it is a fiddly job!
Really need a "get off my gun" knife for on duty use. I was using a small kabar until I realized the handle has been poking my flashlight button as I walk or get into the cruiser. It is surprisingly hard to find a fixed blade with a decent sheath for reliable 1 handed, non dominant side draw.
I may have to go back and look at that hardware I think multi clip requires open grooves like you see on the Kobun Tanto. The Ulti clip absolutely work on the spike
I don’t mind open carrying my big cold steels like my magnum tanto xii and my other fixed blades like my mora craft line 511 doublestacked with my mora companion and now I’m adding 2 drop forged cold steel wasps scout carry to my edc. When I’m in a the woods camping and hunting and bushcrafting I only carry fixed blades. In the woods I carry the mora garberg, my double stack mora companion and 511 combo and my leatherman charge which I also carry in my edc btw I don’t carry the cold steel magnum tanto xii in the woods and I won’t be carrying the wasps in the woods because to me those are straight up combat weapons I do still however carry it on my back pack in the woods but not on my belt like in edc. My edc is for self defense if my ccw micro canik 9mm doesn’t work but I like to be prepared
@@411Outdoors Thank you! I saw a comment down below where someone said that these clips are a bit brittle. Have you found a better alternative? Thanks again
Spacer, and I just ordered the Mini Leatherneck. I might get the C-clips, but I don't mind using it as a neck knife. I use a long enough lanyard so it hangs under my left arm. I carry my Kyoto 2 this way, and I can draw it with either hand. And it does not "Dangle" to badly.
Hello, I have a quick question about the clip, do I need the large or the small clip to attach to the scabbard for my Cold Steel Spike Tanto? Because there are two versions of this clip, a large and a small one.
Horizontal carry at the belt buckle. Is better for a direct crotch attack of the enemy combatant. Neck carry, really only works with a zip-up coat or jacket. So cold weather.
Thank you my Virginia brother good video! Unfortunately, we have § 18.2-308 “(v) any weapon of like kind“; which leaves concealed carry up for interpretation.
Have you been using these for a while? I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on them due to so many complaints on them snapping/breaking. Ty for the video, perfect timing. Been looking at these heavily lately.
My complaint with Cold steel and with their hardware is at it so dang small You need three magnifier glasses and ant man putting it all together. That said, it's the best solution for a cold steel carry setup. I have them on my cold steel spike and Kyoto tanto.
Flimsy, brittle crap. Broke on my belt and knife fell off, luckily I didn't lose it. Screws are good. Keep them and buy a teklok to mount them on instead.
@@411Outdoors Tek Lok is so much better. The model with the on off toggle on the bottom to open it. I've put an M5 bolt in so it can't be opened, it is solid as a rock and half the price of this cold steel crap.
I wouldn't advertise that I am carrying a weapon any more than I would flash my wallet and show my cash to total strangers. Once a weapon has been presented or shown you have to be concerned with weapon retention. Why worry about that if you can keep it concealed? This "Gentlemen Code" will put you in a lot of unnecessary jeopardy. Be a gentleman to your wife but make sure no one stops you from going home to see her.
Thanks for making this video. They need to make a video on Cold Steel on how to work this damn thing. I want to get a Mini Leatherneck too. How do I know to get the Large C Clip or Small one? They need to add that information on the Cold Steel product pages too.
@@411Outdoors Yes, please do. I wear "normal" size belts you can find at any store like Wal-Mart or even Nordstrom Rack? The belt is probably a little over an inch but below 2 inches. I don't understand the differences between the large and small clip, because it says it's rated for the same size of belts. And my waist size is around 34-36 inches.
