Sunken Cost Fallacy is the term for committing too hard. It's typically described as keeping a bad car because you already dumped a lot of money into repairs. I don't see how that wouldn't parallel relationships between people.
Seriously, I'll wear full zip Streetwear hoodies(cactus jack/bape) under a Burberry trench coat, style that with some Amiri/Balmain skinny jeans and Rick Owens abstract high tops and it looks fucking amazing. I'm mixing like 4 different worlds of fashion and as long as I get the color blocking right it looks immaculate.

Experiment with silhouettes. There’s nothing wrong with an all black wardrobe, but all black can be styled so many ways. Mall-core, Rick, yohji, vintage, hype, etc

Just means you have a blank slate for some statements. Maybe get a vintage jacket with a logo or design you like on it. Or have a colorful middle layer between black pants and a black shirt or jacket.
It must be said: this advice also helps you build a more sustainable wardrobe. Taking things slow, you can strategize future purchases while focusing on quality and versatility over the current trends or what you think is cool NOW. Like Christian said, it’s inevitable that our style will change and evolve along with the rest of ourselves, but it’s our responsibility to be mindful of this fact while we decide if we will pull the trigger on that next unique piece (for our current wardrobe) or not. When it gets down to it, over-commitment leads to an overall waste of time, money, and other resources in this context.

I am a woman and I still take his advice. I used to refuse pink, girly clothes because I thought I was refusing to "be like other girls" by embracing dark clothes and edgier vibe. As I've evolved (both mentally and in fashion) I've come to realize that the mere refusal meant I was limiting myself and my style. Long story short, even doing something "to seem different" is an act in itself. Edit: Also, choose pieces even when you don't think they go with one aesthetic. That whole trend is limiting your wardrobe and stressing you out.
Taken with a grain of salt, no matter how long you've been in the game someone usually not even as old as some of your clothes will come along and say you're trying too hard or old friends who don't check on you will say you've changed too much. Based on their perception and how often they look at you, you may look drastically different one day. My very best fashion advice is wear what you like to please yourself, if you can do that, a small degree of happiness will find it's way to you. Don't nose dive, but when you do find things you like its okay to enjoy them.
I've DEFINITELY caught this early before I even started to over commit. For instance I've started to like oversized, but it's really easy to realize you don't have enough fit variety. i love this channel cos men dont get much variety of clothing online like it feels like women get so much more options but this channel makes me realise men can like fashion too
Did this for a while when i was still exploring my style, ended up not being for me but it was cool. But damn if you are willing to sacrifice normal pockets for some style points you are deep in the game ahahahah.
This is actually really true you gotta go through the process of starting out figuring out what you like and feel good in and developing that to your original developed style
I started properly getting into fashion a couple years ago and made some highly questionable buys. A kenzo tiger sweatshirt, a Supreme metallic gold synthetic sweater, and even a Dior belt with a big CD icon - yeesh. I rarely/never wear any of them now (should really onsell)...but they did further a process of exploration and learning, and now I feel much more confident and knowledgeable in my choices, relatively speaking.
I'm buying all my shoes used now. Although I do need a blend of a more mature wardrobe since I can dress nice but I only mainly do it for work. Need some quality boots from cavenders as well. I feel like I'm outgrowing graphic tees.
You told a whole story of my teenager phase when i struggled to find thing that look cool and tried to fit in with my friends. Until i realized everyone were chasing a same style, dressing the same clothes and now iam commiting to vintage clothing
i literally impulsively bought techwear clothing last year and now i don't even like hoodies. because i realised that style is not me at all. now i like shit like grunge, denim, band Ts and all but i don't wanna overcommit again. so i wear those waterproof hoodies anyways 😭😭. my adhd has got me having trust issues on myself. lool
Just slowly move from techwear to grunge. I went through a similar issue of commiting to a skater esque look last year and realized I was more into the grunge look myself recently. The way I'm going about switching is by buying a pair of Dr Martens to help me slowly get more acquainted with said aesthetic. If I were you I'd start off by buying a cool tee or two as a sort of middle ground area to start off.
The only solution i have for you is buying from thirft stores, the clothes are cheap and you can experiment and try all the vibes you can imagine, unless u like very specific and modern things like techware lmao tf is that. But yeah grunge is no problem go hunt
Christian, your videos are becoming more and more like a therapy session about my life... And i kinda like that in a strange way... Anyway great vid, keep up the goodwork ;)
How Christian talks abt fashion it really makes me think DAMN! DOES THIS GUY HAVE A DIGREE IN FASHION OR WHAT!? he always says things that makes so much sense to me with simple wording and in a fun way
When I started getting into fashion I spend 35 dollars in a techwear jacket on aliexpress. It doesn’t feel like much now but back then I was underage and spent a whole ass year collecting that money. A couple of months later I realized techwear/functional wear and warcore aesthetics were too dark for my taste and didn’t really fit me (especially since it’s always hot where I live in) so I felt guilty for spending so much money on something I didn’t really like and wouldn’t use. I was just copying some german girl I followed on ig. A sold it on marketplace a year later and got the money back lol
I feel like telling myself not to worry about achieving the HOLY PERSONAL STYLE is the best thing I could have done for my wardrobe, just finding pieces that I like, from designers with concepts that I'm interested in.
I still rock the 03 big ass shirt and pants look to this day. Toss on my Chicago 1s and I feel right at home. Two puffs of Dior cologne and I’m all set. It’s all about being comfortable in your own skin 😀

When I first started buying clothes I got really into Ralph Lauren and I stocked my polo shirt collection (one for every day of the week) for like $200.
Man actually give us some inspiration behind his words and jokes, actually thanks to him i changing my own style from alpha male wannabe to comfy/soft boii that makes me more comfortable than before because it's somewhat resembling me more than want to be looking tough
Get one item from every category: accessories, pants, shoes, top and a layer. Go and play. (Getting one item means you can borrow, buy 2nd hand, steal, trade, make, modify, tailor... Etc not always buying new)
Start with basics, don’t go out and buy stuff that seems really cool first (even though I know that’s kinda tough lol…). Once you have a good amount of go-to pants, shirts, t-shirts and hoodies/sweatshirts/sweaters in basic or neutral tones (black, white, navy blue, brown, olive and khaki/beige)you can build on top of that really easily. It’s like trying to paint. It’s hard to paint on a canvas already splattered with various colors but you can paint a beautiful image on top of a neutral-toned canvas.
@@jerrell1169 very well said. But go all in on your jacket, shoes, and bag, it's what people are going to notice. Start buying some next level shirts when it gets warm.

If you live in New York City, you know you're exploring your style and trying new things when your friends say you're looking "fly" or "drippy" Because if you weren't fly or drippy, they just don't say anything. Facts
Exactly, I feel heard. I want to do fashion. But I don't fucking like loose clothing and I don't want to wear that in the name of fashion. But what I learnt is that I will take proper care of my clothes from now on, keep them ironed, good colour combinations and put some effort when buying them.
2013 will be my year. new years resolution is simply to stop dressing boring mid whatever and develop my own style in wearing things I actually like rather than just stuff that blends in.

i love this channel cos men dont get much variety of clothing online like it feels like women get so much more options but this channel makes me realise men can like fashion too
this is why i like wearing womens pants/shoes that can sort of pass as unisex, adds a lil extra detail different to male clothes
Sexy fits guaranteed 👌✨
I swear, all the cool looking boots I've seen are women's, they are like 2 sizes too short for me
WHY
@@leonardo9259 buy big size, if youre average size male (like me mens us9, then female size will
almost always be in stock)
Did this for a while when i was still exploring my style, ended up not being for me but it was cool.
But damn if you are willing to sacrifice normal pockets for some style points you are deep in the game ahahahah.
@@Stefan-pj3oz I just carry a small crossbody or my trusty acne messenger if i need more space 😭
This is actually really true you gotta go through the process of starting out figuring out what you like and feel good in and developing that to your original developed style
You know it’s a reliable source when he says “what the fuck am I talking about” in the middle of the video
2013 will be my year 😤😤😤
Also, happy new year frugal
I started properly getting into fashion a couple years ago and made some highly questionable buys. A kenzo tiger sweatshirt, a Supreme metallic gold synthetic sweater, and even a Dior belt with a big CD icon - yeesh. I rarely/never wear any of them now (should really onsell)...but they did further a process of exploration and learning, and now I feel much more confident and knowledgeable in my choices, relatively speaking.
crazy how rewatching these videos make me realise how little did i know back then, so i couldnt relate to all the stuff said , but now i kinda do
I'm buying all my shoes used now. Although I do need a blend of a more mature wardrobe since I can dress nice but I only mainly do it for work. Need some quality boots from cavenders as well. I feel like I'm outgrowing graphic tees.
I felt like I was outgrowing graphic tees too! Thrifting some polos really helped my wardrobe.
Thank you so much! I really needed to hear this, let's make fashion and dressing myself fun again!
Figuratively
2013 will be my year 😤, great advice as always
Christian that’s one of the toughest jacket I have ever seen🔥🔥🔥😤😤😤
Christian, your videos are becoming more and more like a therapy session about my life... And i kinda like that in a strange way... Anyway great vid, keep up the goodwork ;)
I’m always committed to you christian, you don’t gotta ask 🥰
Bro, the fact that you edited a video from two years ago and dropped in bbl drake is wilddddd lol
Man this is what ive been lacking thanks man youll always be the best fashion vlogger
7:29 aged like wine
Reselling your old clothes is key for your budget
I feel like telling myself not to worry about achieving the HOLY PERSONAL STYLE is the best thing I could have done for my wardrobe, just finding pieces that I like, from designers with concepts that I'm interested in.
I still rock the 03 big ass shirt and pants look to this day. Toss on my Chicago 1s and I feel right at home. Two puffs of Dior cologne and I’m all set. It’s all about being comfortable in your own skin 😀
Xactly
I’ve made a bridge to my two styles of grungy street wear and preppy pastel like a sort of gothic lolita but for men
HAPPY NEW YEARRSS BROOSS
Bro I've been trying to articulate drip progression for ages now, thank you 🙏
Its like excercise for your fashion stat 💪
Activewear addict speaking
Me : Used to be an adidas and under armor guy
My brain : Realizing that nike just looks good and my stuff is dog water
Me : Trys to switch to nike
My wallet : 🖕
Bruh, try switching to Rick Owens LMFAO. Unless you're making 100k a year your going to take months to build one outfit. Real talk though if you like Nike hop on grailed, mercari, or Poshmark. When I first started buying clothes I got really into Ralph Lauren and I stocked my polo shirt collection (one for every day of the week) for like $200.
@@samgray4566 thanks man I’ll look around on it
I went straight to lululemon. For a while everything I wore was lulu. Though that was expensive then I got into shoes and FOG
Man actually give us some inspiration behind his words and jokes, actually thanks to him i changing my own style from alpha male wannabe to comfy/soft boii that makes me more comfortable than before because it's somewhat resembling me more than want to be looking tough
2013 will be my year bro I'm feelin this
dude this video helped me right when I needed to stop
huge props
2013 will be my year. I can just feel it
Best video ever you made so far, lowkey unlocked anothrr perspective in life 4 me dawg thanks💪🏽
After binging this channel over the last week or so I’ve realised I ain’t got no style I fr need to change EVERYTHING
I appreciate how this channel is subtly sprinkling personal dev/life philosophy content. Nice evolution!
Easily the best channel on fashion right now
2021 had me ngl. But 2013 WILL BE MY YEAR IM MOVIN DIFFERENT
I got the oversized jumper from the eva undercover capsule; I have no other edgy clothes,i'm 6'2, and it completely drowns me. I am lkiving my best life slowly picking up pieces which work better than i currently have and i am loving the vibe
Got the full Jojo type beat jacket
One of th most informative videos in a while. Man I needed this
If you live in New York City, you know you're exploring your style and trying new things when your friends say you're looking "fly" or "drippy"
Because if you weren't fly or drippy, they just don't say anything.
2013 will be my year.
new years resolution is simply to stop dressing boring mid whatever and develop my own style in wearing things I actually like rather than just stuff that blends in.
Damn Christian’s room lookin kinda 🔥
This was the wake up call I needed, thank you Christian
Came here for clothing advice stayed for the life advice
This gut a s so true, it took me years to perfect myself and now Im awesome ❤❤❤
Don't overcommit to skinny jeans
wrong, skinny jeans are elite
Dude lost so much blood flow to his legs he got Alzheimer’s
One of your best videos, writing wise. Enjoyable to watch
2013 will be my year 😎
I love the way you approach fashion, it's open minded and inspiring
i’m stanking like ammonia rn
I swear this ain’t a fashion channel, it’s a life channel
2013 WILL BE MY YEAR‼️‼️💯💯💯💯😈
I have been stuck in that phase were I just think what would look good with what I have home until one day I bought some cargo pants (I had no idea of fashion before) and it opened my mind and next time I go to the store or somewhere imma buy something different that I have at home. Thanks for the advice. Keept the great work
Bro I remember your early vids where ur drip was kinda basic and u were fat. I have also lost weight and you're making me understand fashion is self expression with how you currently present yourself. Really fuck with your vibe and you're inspiring me to grow into myself. I actually unsubbed at one point because I thought ur content got mid, but you haven't missed in a while. You've mastered this non-condescending charisma that allows you to actually educate and entertain (u funny asf). Honestly look up to you man. Hope you read this and it makes u smile.
Because u deserve to smile!
W progression
This is an irrational level of drip
Love you all hope your 2022 is better than this one
