Thrifting is not “poverty appropriation” it’s literally the most sustainable way to buy clothes and people who thrift are more likely to donate other clothes back so they’re not denying anyone anything.
Fact is, there is right now just too many clothes in the world. Like, fast fashion is producing enough clothes in a year to clothe the entire world's population. There is no clothes scarcity, it's just not a thing. There are places in africa where they get tons of "free" clothes shipped every day and most of them are just burnt to make space for the next shipment. Thrift if you want, you're not taking anything from anyone, don't worry about it.
@@mio8765 I know for a fact the thrifting trend has caused goodwill's prices to skyrocket. Some of their items have gone up a little, which makes sense. But with certain things, shoes especially, they've lost their minds. used walmart shoes at full price, and pairs from known brands can be $30. Not that that's not a good deal sometimes, but charging that for donated USED FOOTWEAR rubs me the wrong way. A lot of decor and household stuff has gotten out of hand too. ive seen stuff with target/marshalls tags on them priced lower than the goodwill tag next to it. The hot take at @14:02 No thrifting as a trend is not taking from people who need the goodwill. 95% of the time us “thrifters” are going out and looking for the really old beat up and dusty clothes. At least for me. I’ve never went to a goodwill and copped a brand new Under Armor hoodie lol. I’m going in looking for the old vintage t shirts and hoodies. The people who “need” the goodwill are trying to get brand new or newerish as possible clothes for cheap and affordable prices. Most thrifters are going for the complete opposite of that. We’re going for the stuff that most people don’t want, like why would some mom on a budget that is school shopping for her 3 kids go get the old dirty stuff to send them to school in? You get what I’m saying? Goodwill is for everybody. Just that most thrifters are going for the older stuff.
Truuuu, most people who need cheap clean clothes aren’t typically interested in vintage styles that “fashion-conscious” people will seek out, a lot of styles that have been seen as outdated and played out to the general population are what “thrift” people want

The goodwill take is a total myth. No amount of rich people thrifting will deplete supplies for people less off. Thrift stores receive truly astronomical amounts of clothing and actually most have trouble with turnover, so it’s good to go and buy buy buy. Your supporting the more ethical economy and allowing the supply to breeze through easier.
It depends on what is being bought. If we have more people competing for the same supply only poor people used to buy, then the prices will go up (like they did). It's simple economics, you can't escape the law of offer and demand, no matter how unlimited you think the supply is. Now if these rich people are only buying from stock poor people can't afford, prices will still rise (like they did), but it won't affect the poor. The whole buy whatever you want is a fallacy. You have to be careful when thrifting as well.

Gotta rep the guy who helped me through a lot of my adolescence. Alpha (name's Aaron) is very respectful to women. He actively consults a lot of the women in his life for their opinions on just about everything he puts on his channel. That video of him shilling for MVMNT watches isn't an accurate slice of his channel or him as a creator... or person. He's a good guy, very down to Earth, boisterous, even overzealous at times, but anyone who's watched his channel for long enough knows him as the loud Italian uncle who will always be there if you need advice.

I think the problem with the absurd rise of thrifting culture is how the thrift stores can start to rise up the prices of items, which actually does make it difficult for people who live off of thrift store stuff to acquire them
Hell no. Some of them are true, some of them are contextual. The diffrence is that all of them are about basic mens wear not some high/alternative fashion.
Yea, imma keep wearing graphic tees lol
the fact that you used a csgo stream for the twitch chat is hilarious ong

As a member of the tall community, I would like to speak for everyone and say, we wish we weren’t allowed in public too.
Jose the Andrew Tate of fashion.
I’ve always hated these channels.Lmfao always thought I was the only one.💀
No I hate those dudes
some people dress up cuz they just love fashion, while some people dress for the ladies. well, there’s no right or wrong. juz different purposes
Not being trendy is trending now, I don’t listen to any of those two dudes lol
Just found out alpha m has cancer, hope he’s okay, he grew me up even if he is out of fashion these days

Hot take the best outfits are from people who don’t care about their clothes and just wear what makes them happiest
No
Gotta rep the guy who helped me through a lot of my adolescence. Alpha (name's Aaron) is very respectful to women. He actively consults a lot of the women in his life for their opinions on just about everything he puts on his channel. That video of him shilling for MVMNT watches isn't an accurate slice of his channel or him as a creator... or person.
He's a good guy, very down to Earth, boisterous, even overzealous at times, but anyone who's watched his channel for long enough knows him as the loud Italian uncle who will always be there if you need advice.
okay but reading this really made me feel better about him as a guy. glad to hear he’s not like he was in the vid

Jose is not a man. He can’t even count to seven.
And I’m wearing cargo shorts, crocs, and an oversized graphic tee while watching this!
Sounds like a fire fit 👌
lmao some ppl will pull/smash a females while their everyday fit is a white shirt, nike slides and black shorts while some ppl “try”to look like jose will be flaked on by the same female while she goes and hangs out with said white t shirt and nike slides😂. this is the living testimony from a person who wears said. white shirt and nike slides😂😂😂

I love when fashion UA-camrs clown on menswear youtubers
I think the problem with the absurd rise of thrifting culture is how the thrift stores can start to rise up the prices of items, which actually does make it difficult for people who live off of thrift store stuff to acquire them
@@mio8765 find a store that sells by weight:)
they said everything outdated but actually they're the one and sadly there's a lot of people following them and thinks they're fashion expert
Hell no. Some of them are true, some of them are contextual. The diffrence is that all of them are about basic mens wear not some high/alternative fashion. Even though I don't watch them and have my own style I still think that wearing cargos or baggy pants look bad af (in most cases plus i'm wearing super tights ones looks bad too). But whatever. In the end it's all matter of personal opinion.
i don’t like alpha m cuz of his other videos about “getting girls”
Yes! This and the fact that every hairstyle video never had any curly hair in then, so... Let's just say I thought I was not his audience
what was wrong with them
He helps niggas out bro dw about those vids
Jose and Alpha have this whole macho thing they're going for, and somehow Christian seems like more of a man.
It's the way they speak.
I honestly hate today’s fashion everything baggy loose ass pants and they don’t even cuff them just ugh
real talk, this comment needs to be higher
fax sum baggy stuff is sick just cuff that shit
loose pants sick asf but when you don’t got them crop it’s annoying
Don’t get me wrong I have loose pants but they still fit properly I’m talking about when you wear a size 30 and put on a size 33 or bell bottoms where the pants are slim but the ankles flair all stupid but either way a little cuff can go a long way especially when your pants cover your entire shoe like come on
Its literally just late 90s early 2000s style lol
