despite telling myself I wouldn't I actually bought this since impressions have been pretty positive. also wanted to see what a 60fps zelda is like. Never played the original since I didn't like the direction the game took at the time. maybe I'll be more open to it now.

I prefer the new button crontrols over the old. While you can use the gyro I found you have to press the gyro reset button very often for the controls to be perfect but beyond that it was cool swinging the sword about.
According to Digital Foundry, the effect is made up of 10x10 dots. The painting effect is very obvious at 480p but because 1080p is such a huge step up, 10x10 is miniscule in comparison. The effect is still there and works exactly the same as it did on Wii. It's just that they didn't adjust it for the higher resolution on Switch, so it might seem reduced or in some cases, gone entirely when it actually isn't.
meh groose kinda feels like Linebeck from phantom hourglass to me,, idk why everyone is so hyped over him. lt kinda feels like the waluigi meme for smash, people just decided that he was the greatest character of all time just for the sake of it.

It may not be AS GOOD as other Zelda games to some people but it is far from being a bad game out of all the games in the world. It's at least a 5.1 out of 10 if it's a balanced score system where 4.9/10 and lower is bad or worse and 5.1 and higher is good or better. My personal opinion puts it at 9/10 but I can use the motion controls well without issue.

My Dad was there; he hasn't done anything new in 10 years. To this day, we still have that Wii and disc of Skyward Sword. Sitting on a dresser. Plugged in. Nobody touches it.
It is better. Fast text, more control options, the game not telling you about treasure again when you’ve already gotten it, and many others make it feel like a whole new game. It’s actually enjoyable to talk to people, I’ve been been purposely talking to Fi to see what see says in different areas, and since I usually skim really fast for it, fast text allows me to do that
I think the major problem with Skyward Sword is that nothing but a complete remake would fix the problems the game has. And Nintendo clearly has no interest in remaking their games.

The button controls and not having to talk to Fi alone make the game way better. Aside from the sword the motion controls are jenk. Probably not worth $60. The first half of the game is great, but it does get boring after all the fetch quest and the dungeons, particularly in the second half are not nearly as good as people Hyped them up to be. Not a bad game. I liked it more then Twilight Princess. But it really feels like it missed the mark and had potential to be so much better.
If you've played for honor button controls are eassssyy peassssy bought game 2 days ago already at lanyaru desert temple 3 hours of gameplay. Absolutely my favorite one. Everyone likes tp and ocarina but honestly the color in skyward sword is fantastic. I've played 90% of Zelda games all the way from super nintendo to ds Gameboy all the way up. I have not played Hyrule of condance or whatever because it isn't a true Zelda game its a mash of 2 different games. Oh personally botw is absolutely the worst one.

Gen 4 remakes were always a bad idea because those games are so good on their own with so many tiny details and features... there's no point in remaking them, the new company would inevitably miss the detail that gives the games so much soul. Pokemon Z (e.g. XY remake) for the switch would work much better imo.

True but the switch version does have motion controls still if you use split joycons.
