    Like with fingernail polish you can tint the resin first, translucent is best, then add the 3D cats eye powders. You'll have a beautiful background to highlight the metallic effects.

    Your videos always make me so happy! 😁
    It's interesting to see how the magnets pull out that yellow/brown color from the pigment.
    I'm guessing this stuff is made similar to how ferrofluid is made, but enveloping iron nanoparticles. Instead of coating them with oil, they're enveloped in a reflective colorful coating. I think the yellow/brown is just tiny particles of the iron/iron oxide that hasn't fully been coated with the color. 🤔
    I actually think it looks pretty cool! Reminds me of the dust clouds around nebula and galaxies with millions of stars all around.

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  4 роки тому

      The yellowish brown pigment also shimmers but only when the light hits it from a very wide angle. The coloured shimmer is produced when the light hits it from the front. It's an interesting effect that I would like to experiment with some more.

    Am I the first one to like this video? 🤔 Either way, I wasn't quite sure on the results were at first, because after they dried, I thought the star dust glitter had totally retracted, but at the end was please to see the results and thought that it was probably just the angle/light of the camera at the stage of reveal. I would love to start using the same in resin along with semi precious gem stones.. I just need more room to start.. You were one of the first people that I started watching, so you gave me the inspiration to want to start using resin 😊👍🥰

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  4 роки тому +1

      The magnetic pigment creates an interesting phenomenon where it changes from a yellow/brown to dazzling metallic colour depending on the angle of the light. It was very difficult to capture on video, especially with my lighting setup.
