I worked that case for the Sacramento DA's Office in 1978. Some responding Deputies had nervous breakdowns and were disabled for what they saw! I cant describe the horror. His apartment on Watt Avenue and Marconi is still there. His was a monster hiding in plain sight. Seen in public busses, loitering near shopping centers and always ignored. Sacramento was off the hook with the vampire killer, sex slave killer Gerald Gallegos, Golden State Killer Joseph DeAngelo, and Manson family devotees. Bur Chase topped them all. He was more than a vampire, he was a cannibal.

Since I learned of this case years ago, I have always been amazed by his spiral and how normal he looked before he became what he is. He looked friendly and well adjusted and I would have probably completely trusted him, yet something inside of him must have always been there, like a sinister shadow.

Edit: (a year after original comment) I forgot to mention that I was a latchkey kid when this guy was active. My Mom tought me to keep the door locked at all times. I'm 52 and still keep my door locked at all times. It's so automatic that I've accidentally locked out friends/family when I'm done smoking, but they aren't done, so I come in the home before them. 🤣

I remember this case well from my teenage years, and because I grew up in a relatively safe area people called me “over the top” for making sure doors were closed and locked, so I have always used it as an example as to why it’s best to ensure that doors are locked at all times, no matter when or where.

Richard spent time in a psychiatric hospital. Some theories exist regarding the possibility that he was involved in the MK ULTRA experiments done on mental patients and prisoners. I think there’s some truth here, especially when you think of how much worse he got after leaving the mental institute. I mean yes, his mother took him off his meds but it seems that he started hearing voices after his stint at the hospital, not prior. That these voices told him to kill…
what these videos seem to forget mentioning is that this idea that he needed BLOOD or was lacking in blood volume stemmed from his inability to get an erection during his first time making out with a girl during his teens. So… an interesting basis in his own mind, for his lack of blood.

I think the jury just wanted to make sure he would die. The idea that this kind of monster was walking into houses like theirs & doing these horrendous things to people just like them probably scared the hell out of them. (Understandably)
Sounds like his mother should have been put in an institution. EVERY penny she had & her ENTIRE estate should have been split between the victim’s family members. Pretty rotten of the theme park people, to make their feature based on a specific killer, who's victims families, obviously would object! Glad they changed it. Although it still seems to be a very obnoxious theme park.

Not a theme park. A haunted house company.

That's the most disturbing story I've ever heard. It's so deranged. He was so twisted and evil. And doing that with the cat in front of a person who never reported him is also sick. I just can't think of any other story worse than this. I've heard some things and read a lot of disturbing crimes but nothing like this. I'm so glad he got the death penalty. He took an over does what a creep. He wanted total control to the end. He wasn't monitored enough to be able to get them tablets. This is a lesson to the system. The authorities should learn from this if they wanted to.
    My God..... 🤔😲

I love your videos! I know thinking you got off light by having someone shit and piss all over your baby’s stuff. Those poor families. The poor husband having to see that.. I always lock my doors and windows like a total spaz. His parents should be ashamed of himself! They didn’t want to live with him.. so they sent him on the world.

He should have been committed involuntarily pursuant to section 5150 of the Welfare & Institutions Code and then likely indefinitely by the court. The system is broken.

Is this serial killer another MK ultra participant. It would be very interested to see where he went to school if it went to school in college and what he did after high school.
