@@Khrysalis01 Yes, but she wasnt one of them. She was one of the ones lying. She once played the message from her answering machine saying it was "the man who was stalking her" and she was "positive it was HIM because it sounded just like him"... It was clearly her on the message. She also had access to morphine, which is what she ODed from, and one her her hands behind her back was partially loose (as if it had been slipped under). Her neighbor and bestfriend claimed she saw her multiple times attempting to set up a event. She claimed she thought her friend was sick with some sort of disorder. I have no doubt in my mind Cindy didnt plan on dying that day, only giving herself a enough to knock herself out like she had done before.. Only realizing it she had made a mistake last minuet and ran outside for help. Her body wasnt hidden, but laying open in some bushes> Its because of people like CIndy the law overlooks these things. Its terrible, but she isnt a victim here. (look up her case, there is plenty of convincing evidence Cindy was sufferings some sort of illness). She may even have been doing it lal to spite her ex husband who cheated (as she described him exactly every time she would give statements, almost like she was pointing them to him. Of all the people who fake crimes for attention, some are bound to fudge it up and hurt themselves

I had a psycho ex bf stalk me for years. I had a lawyer tell me she’s had clients denied protection that wound up dead in a ditch. This sounds exactly like what a twisted psychologist would do. Mentally torture someone for years, making them look crazy to the police and everyone else, mind games. Plus she knew who it was, by saying, she said she was "going to reveal that person."

What a heartbreaking story of a woman being tortured by a sadistic ex-husband for years before he murdered her. And the police completely failing to do their jobs! It is completely unacceptable for police to decide that somebody is not being stalked, unless they are doing 24-hour surveillance. It definitely wasn't coming from Cindy. There were witnesses. The voice that was recorded sounded female to me but the husband could have had a female partner in torturing Cindy. People who tried to come around and see what was going on, did see questionable people or persons nearby. This kind of story, sadly, prompts one have less faith in whether or not you can rely on law enforcement when you need them to believe you.

I'm wondering if someone, my bet the ex husband, used Scopolamine on her. Scopolamine, also known as Devil's Breath is what Haitian Voodoo uses to make "zombies." It's medicinal use is for motion sickness and it makes a person very pliant and susceptible to suggestions and with absolutely no memory of the entire time. I took some once after a serious ear surgery and still can't remember the three days after I got home from the hospital. My family said I slept most of the time but did have bouts of "sleepwalking" and talking crazy. After that three days, I was absolutely fine but couldn't remember anything after leaving the hospital. At least I wasn't conscious of the pain and motion sickness but I still feel strange about those unknown three days. And that was just a small, medicinal dose. Yeah, told my doctor that I refuse to take any more of that crazy stuff no matter how desperate I was with severe vertigo.

    • @behrwillsonn4842
      @behrwillsonn4842 3 роки тому

Are you fuckin' serious?! So, you would rather believe Cindy James was a victim of voodoo rather than Cindy doing all of those things to herself. I mean, when she got that message stabbed in her, it was stabbed in her hand. Meaning, if someone was going to stab a paper message into me I'm going to be fighting them, people fight with their hands, making the hands a moving target, the torso, or back are better targets to stab a message into. But she couldn't stab the message into her own back, she didn't want to do it in the torso damaging organs, so she slammed her hand into the knife. I mean, just because she said a man did it doesn't mean a man did it. What if I told you my ex husband lit my house on fire. Would you believe me? I mean, why would I lie? I would lie to gain attention, and for sympathy. But now that I think about it voodoo, is a better solution.

I’m leaning towards multiple personalities. I’ve seen a case that someone with multiple personality died at her own hands but her main personality didn’t want to die. Her other personality was homicidal towards self, which makes me wonder if it’s not just c-ptsd, in advanced stages. The signs and discrepancies of multiple personalities were similar. PTSD is a psychological injury that the medical and psychiatric professionals do not fix. People with ptsd are left on their own, and can be confused with so many other apparent disorders. PTSD has been mistaken for Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression or Bipolar.

Looks like I'm in a small minority, but I think the balance of probabilities is that she was doing these things to herself.
The fact that she was attacked numerous times, but never had a good description of her attackers, the attacks were serious, but consistently short of what would be required to kill her, and sometimes in her own home which greatly reduced the number of potential attackers. Over all this is just too weird, and if anyone was guilty of harassing anyone, I think it is more likely that Cindy was staging the attacks against herself to try to set up her ex-husband.

Yah, Its a pretty out there suggestion to say she did it to herself. And some of the timelines don't really match that suggestion. For example, how she moved and there were no incidents until a few months after. Almost like it would have taken someone a couple months to figure out where she lived. And then of course her death which would be as close to impossible as it gets for someone to do to themselves.

I question whether she could even tie herself in that position in a perfectly sober state let alone loaded with enough morphine to kill her. It’s very suspicious.

Geez.. such an infuriating case. I’ve never heard of it. Sounds to me like Cindy was a prime example of why stalking laws were implemented. I don’t think for a second she was doing this to herself. Possibly a doctor who knew what types of drugs could be injected but not able to detect upon testing, there are such things. Also, more than likely someone she knew who could have copied her key. Someone was gaslighting and terrorizing her. I say.. shame on the police with this case. They should have taken it more seriously and tried to obtain some kind of evidence. Too bad security cameras weren’t installed, it was the 80’s so we didn’t have anything like we do now. When my daughter was very young, someone pounded on my door late a night, scared the heck out of me, I called the police because it was literal pounding with fists, and nobody was there, the cops made me feel stupid for calling. As more things continued, it turned out to be a troublesome young boy in our complex who was in the same school as my daughter, he got caught egging our windows and was under 10 years old. Anyway, poor woman. Hope she’s at peace on the other side.

It's easy to feel sorry for Cindy James. And of course, the fact that her ex-husband was a psychiatrist makes him a convenient suspect. In fact, if this comments section is to be believed, he has already been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. All we have are theories because none of us were there. The fact that nothing ever happened to her when someone was with her, at least some of the calls she received had come from inside her home, there was never any sign of forced entry make me believe it's possible she did it to herself. I had a stalker back in the 90's and I can tell you that I wasn't out walking my dog after dark during that time. For a woman who was afraid for her life, some of her behavior makes no sense. I hope the truth, whatever it is, is discovered one day.

For what it's worth, I believe the ex-husband was behind it, after all, he was a psychiatrist, which means you assume he was of high intellect and conversant in psychological methods that could possibly enable him to induce extreme paranoia in someone. No evidence/disturbance of windows/doors to show break-in. Did anyone check to see if the door/window locks had been changed? Harassment only continued when victim was alone. The idea of the police not taking a victim's pleas for help seriously gets everyone's blood boiling, but I have to say that I see where the police were coming from and I might even agree with them. So much of this makes no sense at all. She kept being physically assaulted but either never got a good look at her attacker or couldn't remember the attack at all? She would claim to have been drugged, but nothing was ever found in her system until the "attack" that ultimately killed her? If she was telling the truth, then her attacker(s) was/were extremely sophisticated and thorough. That could lend credence to the ex-husband's mob theory, but what would they have to gain by tormenting her for years before killing her? I just can't help but come to the same conclusion as the cops that she was suffering from severe, undiagnosed mental issues. Either that or her ex was a twisted, evil genius.

10 weeks in a psych unit is pretty significant. I worked as a nurse in an inpatient psych unit and anyone there for that long had major mental issues. What was her diagnosis? That’s pretty pertinent. That so many people stayed/watched out for her but nothing happened at those times is telling. Did they hunt for black stockings in her house? Did they try to pull prints from the notes that were left? The recorded phone message sounded like a woman to me. A lot of unanswered questions to decide but my feeling was she was disturbed enough to do this for attention. She could have injected herself after tying her feet & the stocking (which wasn’t the cause of death) and you can tie a knot that you can self tighten. Perhaps her tying her hands was a way to keep up the ruse while contributing to the appearance of foul play while the morphine overdose was working its way to the inevitable respiratory suppression & death. People can do really messed up things for weird reasons. Read some books by FBI profilers. Some of the things people do for attention are unfathomable. Even if it kills her, in her mind everyone will look at her dead body & think, “she was right!”

I believe Cindy had serious mental health problems. She apparently liked being the object of sympathy and enjoyed attention and when the police didn't give it to her, she had no choice but to escalate the phonecalls and cut and paste letters to physical assaults. One theory is that if the attacks happened as soon as there was no one else there, then maybe someone lived in her attic only to come down and show themselves then attack Cindy. Another theory is that she was doing it all to herself but had a disorder that actually affected her memory. What ever the theories were it is a sad ending and of Cindy did need some help they never were there for her as they got fed up of the countless claims from her that she was being attacked and stalked. If there was good evidence that he had something to gain by doing this, I could more easily believe that he was involved. I'm also curious about the rest of his history. I have a hard time believing that someone who would go to those lengths to destroy another human being would do it only once. I'd also want to know whether he had alibis for some of the times that these things happened. I can't imagine that he'd recruit people to help in this effort. Having other people involved would be too risky.
I guess a stranger could have done this, but I'd expect someone who would do this once to try again.

I feel very bad for her.I literally don't care if she was the one doing this or someone did this to her.The system failed her and she had to live for years in terror and fear.If she was sick, she didn't know and didn't received the psychiatric help she needed. If she was actually stalked, nobody cared and he got away with it pretty good, living his life as nothing happend, eventually passing away with no remorse.

This reminds me of an old movie called, "Midnight Lace".

Sadistic psychiatrist ex-husband... with keys to her house... torturing and terrorizing her.
    That poor woman.

I do believe that detective captured a video of Cindy putting one of the threatening letters in her own mailbox herself. I'd like to find that again. Not sure if the one I saw was the original or a reenactment. It's been awhile. Strange case for sure. No matter who was responsible, Cindy was victimized and terrorized. The police and mental health community could have done so much more. Not believing her was like victimizing her again.
Personally, I think she did have multiple personality disorder. We didn't know much about this disorder back then. So it seemed weird. Now we know that not all personalities in a person's mind is a good personality. Usually though, multiples are created deep in the psyche to protect that person from traumatizing things. It usually starts with a severely traumatic event, like long term abuse that started in very early childhood.
Anyway, I think our society and the police should have done more to protect her. Even from herself.

From everything I've heard on the case there were in fact drugs found in her system after the abduction in the park incident. It was actually a drug she was prescribed but the amount in her system couldn't be determined. Not sure why you reported there were no drugs found in her system after this incident?

This sounds like stalking & a kidnapping. I can't understand how police thought she'd made this up. How could she have tied herself up, her hands behind her back. It doesn't make sense

I remember this story. I believe it really happened to her because I had something very similar happened to me although I am still alive because one day well into it the police decided to believe me. The man was put in prison. It's a wonder I didn't die.
