In US news and current events today, Senator Cory Booker delivered an emotional speech about his experiences growing up as a Black man in America in light of the current Black Lives Matter protest and George Floyd protest movement sweeping the globes.
The Black Lives Matter protests and George Floyd protests go beyond simple politics, as the Democrat Senator from New Jersey tearfully exhorts. The truth that the mostly peaceful protesters are trying to have heard is a message that has fallen on deaf ears for over 400 years, but as the BLM protests spark a fervent debate about police brutality in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and other African Americans, the message may finally be getting heard.

You've just said it, "you weren't born racist, it is taught"
If we really want to change this 'teachings", so then we must start in educate our kids without these "teachings and thoughts" raise them without any stigma.. yea i know what are you thinking about me , "you are just a simple dreamer" they thought the same when John Lennon wrote "Imagine"..and was killed because he dreamed that we could lived in a better world.
At least not at all is lost. If there is another one on this infinite world singing the John Lennon's song, keep your faith up, there is still hope.
      Have a great day.

With all respect to everyone who comment and will read this, as an answer to your comment. We need baby boomers and gen x to die in order to have a more peaceful place. These are the last generations of hate -I’m not saying everyone in these generations is racist- but with millennials as the older generation things are going to be some how better since is a generation of change -also, not all millennials are good, but the generation it self seem more sensitive-
I don’t want awful responses, this is what it make sense in my analysis.

Sadly you have a true point. But I have hope that each generation will make this world a little bit better. 100 years ago the people might not have believed that so many things could change in this period of time. Who knows what will change in the next 100 years? It might not be perfect, but I have the feeling, that they will have more tolerance and equality.

Regardless, I sincerely hope the emotional performance he gave was as sincere as the words he said because its a shame when politicians use a crisis for publicity.
It honestly is incredibly hard to tell these days…

We live in a world where speaking the truth is radical. I’m happy you’ve spoken the truth. But we need action. If you don’t take action your words lose their power and fade away.

Beautiful speech Cory. Brought tears to my eyes thinking of all the black people killed for no other reason than being black. Hope doesn't work, we've had hope and it's done nothing. Now it's time to take action!

First off I'm a white, conservative, never Trump, Republican-to frame this. In high school (around 9/11) I legitimately thought we were past this. I went to a diverse city school but played rugby with a suburban team (no official school leagues and the next nearest team to me was a city school, actually closer to my house but in the wrong direction so if have to drive across town and miss most of practice). Anyway, while playing this city school one of my teammates kept getting beat and used the n word in reference to one of the other teams players. I was floored. I cussed him out for a solid five minutes just to avoid decking him. My teammates thought I was a crazy person for having that reaction. I couldn't understand why they thought that was an overreaction.
Seeing this comment section reminds me of that moment, when I realized that even though most white folks aren't racists they are really terrible at recognizing racism when they see it.

@Thunder Power crying helps the weak justify racism in their circle. same with all things in life. crying makes the weak feel better bc others will say "my best friend cried so hard about Floyed & feels bad he use to be racist". So, it's needed to cover things up. Don't discount crying, the weak do it. Then they go party. Then come back do it again.

Thank you sir. We are a white family and have also experienced police brutality. It involved my 73 year old sister who is a flight attendant. Stoped late at night - the officer pushed her so hard against the car that she brushed and hit her head. There was more that went on but I regretfully will not go on. All this over an unpaid parting ticket in Chicago.
