    History of this world:
    This survival series started on July 10th 2014 on the MCPE (Minecraft Pocket Edition) App. I had quite a few MCPE videos before this series that I recorded and edited on the iPod 4th Generation. When I finally upgraded to the iPhone 5, this was when I wanted to start a Minecraft series that will last forever! I started this series on the iPhone 5 and eventually upgraded again to the iPhone 6 Plus for more power on Ep.66. MCPE on the iPhone 6 Plus served me well for a long time until the game started updating more and became even slower. This was until I bought myself a gaming laptop (Lenovo Y700) and transferred my ongoing MCPE world to Windows 10 Edition on Ep.154. Till this day, we are still surviving and thriving with builds in this world and plan to do so far into the future!
    About me and my world:

      @@azrael_morningstar well, i don't know how long you've played this game, but i'll just tell you my experience since i left the pvp community back in early 2016.
      it was horrible. it was great in the beginning when it was all fun and games, but it soon became exhausting, just a bunch of people who found a medium to vent all their hate and frustration, it felt like it drained all sense of pleasure and comfort, which the game initially provided. when i noticed it i was closing minecraft after about an hour of playtime since i just didn't tolerate it anymore, and usually it was like 3+ hours especially with friends (who also left the game because of this same reason). about 2 friends of mine continued to play, and from what i had heard, it only got worse thru 2016-17. keep in mind i was like 13 at that time, and most players were around that age if not younger, so now with this minecraft revival that's been going on for a while, hopefully people are coming back to it more matured and grown.
      hope that answered your question lol

      yeah, Minecraft does have infinite possibilities, but the only problem is how boring the game can get after a while.

  • @wobinwoods
    @wobinwoods 2 роки тому +257

    The biggest problem I think a lot of people have subconsciously is nostalgia. Trying to grip onto your best memories of the game when u were younger; creating a new world and expecting the same. A problem I have is efficiency, I could probably get full netherite gear and an enderman farm in my first real life day if I wanted to and if I didn't do that I'd just feel like I was wasting my time. I think if you were an OG player like me you have to acknowledge you're not gonna have as much fun as you used to, things were so much better back then; but you can still have fun by playing with your evolved creativity, finding more difficult mechanics to manipulate or challenges to accomplish. Vanilla minecraft is far too easy, mods help, but they don't feel like minecraft, i've been through hundreds. You're just going to have to experiment and find what's right for you, or you'll unfortunately just have to keep waiting for that spark of nostalgia. Minecraft is a game I think a lot of friends keep because of the potential in your head, but practically it's just not the same anymore...
    The best advice I could think of is to take inspiration from servers like scicraft and hermitcraft. Work on big projects when you get into your world and zone yourself out with the game's or your own music. Find a tool set that works for you, rush to efficiency 5 or just chill with iron. Once you've finished with a project close the game, open up a sticky note and do something else while you think of ideas. When you've got an idea open the game up and immediately get started, I feel like I get bored of games when I start walking around randomly or procrastinating. Download utility mods, there's no harm in those and consider playing on hardcore, it's really not that hard but it does give a tiny bit of edge to some aspects. Also consider datapacks like blazeandcaves it adds tons of advancements and keeps some life to your progression.

    • @user-vb3kn6ur3s
      @user-vb3kn6ur3s 2 роки тому +12

      Uff i can relate a lot with the efficiency thing. When i was younger, getting DIAMOND was sooooo far away from the start of the game, i always had in mind that was for pros. Also caves scared me to the bone, so it was all much harder. That made the game feel much more relaxed, and ultimate goal of the game was actually defeating the ender dragon (which i almost never got to hahahah), and then the game would just end. But now doing it doesn't take much effort or time and is one of the "first" things you can do, and for me i think the game has completely lost its point. And it pisses me off so much to not be able to enjoy the main game as i did, now the " oficial game" is completed after some days (defeating the ender dragon) and then most people think they're just about to really start making progress in your world, which i think is shit tbh and for me it makes no sense. I wish i was a noob again and the game was much harder for me to complete.
      I'll try the hardcore mode anyway, I've never done it and it may help. Thanks for the recommendations and the comment/your story in general! Finally i find someone who has the same problem as me.

Maybe I just don’t have that creativity anymore and like the OP said I want it to feel like how I did when I was playing as a kid. Idk.

    Adding more to your original house is a good idea. Whenever I play survival, I always make a starter base and then later on move to a new area. The newer base just doesn't have the same appeal as the first one. Another thing I found is that moving into someone else's abandoned base on a multiplayer server can be fun as well. It adds a certain layer of mystery as to hidden aspects of the base and what those other players left behind.

    The thing about not making automatic farms is so true to me.
    I've seen SMPs killed off really quickly because almost immediately people make AFK farms and try to get the best loot possible asap, causing them to get bored very quickly and the players who aren't as fast quit because they feel left out.

    • @Lucas-xn5bn
      @Lucas-xn5bn 2 роки тому +1

The possibilities are endless and the only limit is your imagination.

    I disagree with the "don't make mending" and "don't make automatic farms" bit, I'm a player that enjoys long term worlds, and the reason I do that is because I adore having everything available to me and convenient I order to allow me to build what I want to as easily as possible. The best example of this is the hermitcraft server, constantly in endgame, their worlds last a long time and could theoretically go on forever. I usually stop playing and take a break. When I’m bored with other games I get back into Minecraft and give myself a goal (Smth to build). Usually I spend way tooo long building it, expanding it and such and when I’m happy with the build I stop playing and the cycle continues.
    Last time I tried building John Marstons ranch from rdr2 and ended up building the whole town of blackwater. Babysteps sometimes lead to leaps.

    One thing I def 100% agree with in this video is recording it for youtube because the eyes of people seeing it motivates you to do more. This is exactly why I love multiplayer worlds with friends because they are on the server with you and you are able to message them and say, "Come visit and look at the cool thing I made." only issue when doing this with friends is some may not be as longterm invested as you, so a single player world is a good thing to have; it's something to yourself that is always there and again, having others to share it with is something that serves as a giant motivator.

    Summary for non-readers: The power of story-telling/lore is immensely powerful to keep playing your same Minecraft world.
    The biggest issue I find for veterans is doing crazy things or exploring and it just becomes repetitive like "oh wow I made a mob grinder the 8,000th time hooray" when in reality you have to look at it from a different perspective so in my humble opinion I create lore, why is there a mob grinder or how will I hide this farm with a lore about a disease slowly taking over the Minecraft world, the problem isn't a lack of anything to do--it's just "How do I make this construction/destruction as productive as possible while still having fun?" and my solution was lore and it's been great, creating a narrative for your worlds makes something more personable about your creation, so instead of "I made this same design 100's of times". Into "This ancient civilization built this mob farm to generate wealth and create a balance for control."
    Of course, you can choose however way you like to create your story--it's entirely up to you. That's why Minecraft resembles a giant randomized Lego box because you can take irrelevant pieces of plastic and connect them together to create something unique that serves a purpose like a house for a villain, or a small town the hero has to save. If you took a step back and don't envelop yourself into a story the construction becomes tedious and boring, that's the power of story-telling in your creations. If you cannot think of an underlying lore for your world take inspirations you don't have to build a 1:1 recreation but something similar can be helpful to keep the story going and if a certain part of your lore project gets dull or tedious just take a break and go work on some other project with perhaps a different lore or functional build.

    This video is very helpful. Thx, man. I've been on that loop of world-making limbo for a long time, now I've gotten genuinely excited about playing MC survival again. Man, there's nothin like the MC community.

    Thank you so much. Just started a hardcore soft modded world with a friend, this video really helps me. Idk why, but I constantly drop worlds, saves, even in other games. Ill follow your advices, especially the First One. Might be fun :D
