    This tutorial is fantastic! Subscribed. Can’t wait to see what you do next. Could you please add some explanations as you talk, for example why you use cling film before tooling details, the sand in your baking tray, why you used water based varnish but then added resin to some parts…and also what types and brand names of products you use and why you chose them. For example, when you glued the legs on, did you use the same resin that you painted on the stinger and eyes at the end? Things like that would be so helpful.

      Wow that's a lot of info for me to annotate, but it's ok, I'll try to explain also those parts of the tutorials you've mentioned, dear friend. The reason why I'm not mentioning or explaining about those part is because I already mentioned them in my previous videos back then, I just can't remember which particular videos but I think i did. So as for me not to be repetitious in every latest tutorial I make. But as I've said, I'll still explain them maybe in between tutorials.And about the brands of materials I'm using, were all listed in the descriptions of each videos, I believed 😊 Thank you very much.

    I really enjoy your works, especially because i love insects, arachnids and shellfish. One quick question about the curing process: do you bake them on a plate with sand just to avoid the deformation of them standing on a flat surface like the oven's plate or there's another particoular reason for it?

    • @LifeofClay
      @LifeofClay  Рік тому +1

      Thank you very much, my friend Giorgio.
      Yes that is the main reason, to avoid deformation. And second is that while sand gets heated up, it won't burn the bottom of the clay (the part touches the sand).😊 And if you noticed how easy I brush off the sand that stick on the clay? It's so satisfying indeed.

      @@LifeofClay I was struggling indeed with the baking/curing process sometimes because of the deforming and sometimes the burning .Your videos and your response helped me solve this problem. Thank you very much 😁

    I wanted to ask what are you using sand wise to rest your pieces on while you bake them. I have been using third arms but it would be nice to maybe use something like that that won’t misshape my sculpt.

    • @LifeofClay
      @LifeofClay  Рік тому +1

      Exactly my friend, rhe purpose of me using sand bedding during baking is that to avoid my sculpture of deformation and sand heat well, helps to cure the clay even more without burning it. Thank you for being so interested about it, I really appreciate it 😊

      @@LifeofClay thank you for your response! but I was asking what type of sand? Is it anything special or just regular sand?

    • @LifeofClay
      @LifeofClay  Рік тому +1

      @@kalalily87 it's Arabian fine sand, but you can also use different kind of fine sand, just pass them through a fine seive to make sure you get the very fine grains😊
