Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to share your process with us !! I like how you turned all the features of the dragon into simple, likeable shapes ~ Will keep this in mind when I try out clay again !! 🌱
I ran across your video while searching for a tutorial. I'm finally venturing into polymer clay, and my mom makes a request for a multicolored dragon of all things! Watching how you do it, though, I think I just might be able to pull it off. I will be making some simpler things to get familiar with the clay first though.
Am I not the only one who is completely clueless on how to sculpt it with your hands and not make finger prints everywhere and accidentally squish it out of shape
I just watched a tutorial on this. Harder clay is key and choosing the right consistency for your hands and climate. Then, when you’re totally done you can use rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to smooth it out if needed. Once baked, if it’s still not quite ideal, you can use pure acetone (nail polish remover with no additives) in the same way.
I just found your lovely creations on Instagram. I really appreciate you also spent time making videos. Hope you are safe and doing well during this pandemic time. I'm sure many online shops must be affected too because of the logistics limitation.
My 11 year old, makes animations and begged me to let her have a UA-cam channel. I agreed but I had concearns that the lack of subscribers or idiot commentators would discourage her. I showed her your channel, she love's your art and video's, of course she wants me to buy her all of your designs. I went on to show her the name of your channel and your video about how you get discouraged, and she was surprised that you would have any insecurities. I hope that your lack of subscribers or the idiot's on here, don't discourage you to continue with your art, your not only an amazing artist, but you could teach more than just how to make these beautiful little creations, you can teach the younger artist's to not give up... I hope that you make a new video soon, and would love to see your Etsy shop full, so I can buy a ton of your art. Good luck xo
Thank you so much! This is the best comment I've ever gotten, you're too nice! I'm so happy your daughter enjoys my videos :) I'm still making a lot of art, the reason my shop is almost empty is that they usually sell out very quickly. If you'd like, you can follow me on Instagram (@plushlikecreatures) I post way more frequently over there.
Nice Dragons! I followed you on Instagram to keep track of your creations! How do you make the canes and keep em soft? and how can you mould the clay till it's that soft? You can DM me on Insta @odelia_lee . Keep going!
I've been watching a lot of videos about polymer clay and it looks like there's a product called clay softener, but also that different brands are different softness!
@@Gilliebeany the brand does make a large difference. I use a brand called Kato polyclay and it tends to be quite hard. I know sculpey is normally pretty soft and when used with the softener that probably makes a difference as well.
Don't give up! I'm 28 years old, a slow learner, and I wasn't born with any real talent for art (I don't say that as a BAD thing, it's just the truth). What you see here is learned skill, accomplished by hours and hours of practice. Anyone can do it! ☺️❤️
It took me a sec to realise what the x on the table was for. I loved this little dude, ive just got into clay and this was really helpful.
I love dragons this is beautiful

What did you used to fixed them? Is IT normally glue?
What do you use for the eyes? The tool I mean
What do you use to stick them on? Water? Xd
How do you remove fingerprints?
I like to use a little bit of rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover with a Q- tip and gently rub to get rid of dust and fingerprints :)
What is the liquid? Is this baking clay?

Also polymer clay is plastic based so it doesn't dry out like water based clay
