This is a great example for all conductors out there. An orchestra without you, will always make music, but the opposite won’t happen. So, conductors of the world, be an inspiration for us, not just a metronome.
I was at the Carnegie Hall, somewhere in 1980s, when to make a point of how great the orchestra was, the same Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Leonard Bernstein crossed his arms and stopped conducting during the performance. There is a video of that, as I just found out: "Look Ma No Hands! Leonard Bernstein at his best..."
LOL yes I am so much fun at parties... but what does this have to do with the heart? Let's be honest, this is how people entertain toddlers, spinning for them, playing the idiot etc... :)
This is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. Doesn't she have any advisors telling her to finally cut this artificial attention-grabbing crap on stage? And Mehta - little better...

She is just the cutest! Her joy and love of music is so delightfully infectious!
Yes, very infectious. .
And here we have it, folks. The longest time a woman has ever conducted the Vienna Philharmonic.
hahaha... so funny and so sad...
Is that woman from Roumania? Cause her name is roumanian 🤔
@@theimpalervlad8920 Nah She from Germany
Simone Young had conducted the Vienna Philharmonic many years ago. But I get your point, it's indeed a problem.
She's such a treasure!
This is the cutest thing i ever saw😂😍 She acts like a toddler😂
Great! Diana brings hapiness to the world!!!! :-)
And Zubin Mehta too. They have a lovely sense of humor.
I was there! Pretty funny indeed. Nice to see it up close :)
Just shows that a great orchestra doesn't need a conductor.
it probably doesn't need it on a concert day...but in rehearsals definitely yes
It does, just not in a piece so simple.
Conductor made base of orchestra.
The VPO could probably play this music while sleeping.
Oh bless. Wonderful to see our favourite 'Queen of the Night', having fun. Good work.
So much fun to watch--it's nice that they can take themselves less seriously on occasion.
so natural and beautiful I love love dianna damrau she gives you a happy strength
A friend of mine attended...so I decided to check UA-cam..."on the chance". So glad I found this channel....thanks for posting.
BRAVOOOOOO!!!!, great music with great sense of humor!!! Bravo!!!!
In La Sonnambula last night, I watched her do cartwheels!
I really love her exuberance (and phenomenal technique)!!!
I was there and loved it!!!!!!
Yes, you did.
damn, so SORRY I missed that concert! I always knew DD has a great sense of humor, but MEHTA? !!!
this is her best performance ever and I'm quite serious
You don't know what you're missing if you don't follow classical music!
Wonderful. "Good, clean, FUN ! ! ! "
Tremendous performance.
i love Diana !!!
Diana Damrau sang Csárdás from Die Fledermaus as an encore then came this.
This is wonderful!!
Una maravillosa introducción a la música para mi adorada nieta, por la obra, la madame y el gran maestro.
2:35 the rallentando even without the conductor :)
Can we have a video of her, singing?
OH, I think you may find a few if you look really hard.
hahaha!
"Made conducting debut at Carnegie Hall" would sure look impressive on a bio...
She's so cute! :3♡♡♡♡ my idol forever!!
Brillante!!!!
Let’s all have some fun, Bravi👏👏
I was there in the first row, right.
Zubin , simply superb !
Yes. This was so sporting of him.
Damrau ruuuulees
Isn't the Concertmaster the father from Family Ties?
New Year's Eve Champagne!
That was too cute...

I love you!
They Can Take Turns

Müthis süper
Kkkkkkkk love her
Twoset should react to this
So funny 😂😂
good for them!muste turned a page from the books of Andrei Rieu, he does things like that all the time...
E un orrore!
haidaaaaaaaaaaaa;;;;;;;;
Delightful except that she didn't sing. She should definitely not give up her day job for conducting.
I am utterly disappointed when I hear a grand orchestra bringing forth the Offenbach "Un nuit de Amore" w/o the vocal duet.
Madonna, Furtwaengler si rivolta nella tomba.
No.
HaHaHa!!!
this is funny
for a 3 years old
Gee, I bet you're fun at parties. Get a heart, for christ's sake!
LOL
yes I am so much fun at parties... but what does this have to do with the heart? Let's be honest, this is how people entertain toddlers, spinning for them, playing the idiot etc... :)
***** admit it, everyone would love to be a toddler again?
Polkas are meant to be danced to.
that crap!
Looks kinda awkward actually..
i guess you dont have happiness most of the time, thats so sad of you
fucking weird humor.
un siparietto trito e ritrito. Che noia.
Scheiße
Ja, du bist's.
This is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. Doesn't she have any advisors telling her to finally cut this artificial attention-grabbing crap on stage? And Mehta - little better...
Honestly calm down. It's a novelty piece of music that you can muck around with! Take Radetzky March for instance.
jesus christ why is everything about her is just so much of a big deal? she is just fucking enjoying an encore, let her be for fuck's sake
such a bad taste from the singer ..🤦🏻♂️
Really terrible
Total lack of class...
Dreadful actually - would have worked if she was a bit more "photogenic"......
I reckon Damrau was pregnant here.
