Hi, a couple days ago, my brother's pc received a ransomware-type from a website that says it would remove viruses by calling them. He apparently called and gave them info about his pc information. I factory reset the pc and install Malwarebytes and 0 malware were found. I am still paranoid if the pc is still hacked after the pc information were given. What should I do?
The factory reset should have done the trick. Installing Malwarebytes, running Microsoft defender are always a must on a Windows 10 PC. Give your brother this info: Do not ever call a phone number that appears in these scams. You may press Alt + F4 to close that window, shut down or restart the PC, but never call that number. Also, find out what info he gave out and if it was bank or financial info, you will need to contact that bank and let them know that your financial info was released, so the bank can stop any payments to these scammers.
I did a restore of the computer and have been using my Norton but I noticed every time I restart my computer that there is unknown in the command prompt when using netstat only when online and that my Norton file doesn't stay in the same spot on the main screen when I turn shutdown the computer.
Pretty usefull, but one question, can you get hacked just by typing in a website url address in the url search box on chrome even if you dont load or enter the site?????(Even if you do it multiple times but not enter or click the site???????)
@@selmateacher7 ok but is there any chance it could happen unlikely or only and I repeat ONLY when the site completely loads and shows up on my screen?

These videos are pretty useful.

I would recommend scanning the computer with a second anti-virus program, such as with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes, while the system is offline.
@@selmateacher7 thank you I will try it

no. the site would need to load completely.
@@selmateacher7 can a exploit get on my device if I just type in a site address on the url search box???
@@spideyboigamingyt6571 no. The site would need to load completely.

@@spideyboigamingyt6571 I like your first answer. "ok." Maleware would be downloaded after the site loads.
