    OMG Professor was best friend to my cousin Ngugi wa Mirii who unfortunately passed away through a fatal accident in Harare Zimbabwe where he was also in exile. I met Professor personally in Kamirithu when I was a little girl when my cousin took me to watch the play Ngahika ndenda. Professor we love you..we miss you, I know you miss your brother Ngugi wa Mirii who is my cousin. Stay strong brother ❤

    Ngugi wa Thiong'o is from my home area Gitogothi/Ngarariga.Oh I loved the play "ngahika ndenda" Him and Patrick Njiru ...safari rally driver and maybe "to me rally founder"...they remain my living heroes. May God protect them always....and also Kiratu...from Limuru...love you all!

    So happy to see how strong and sober he is regardless his age. What a treasure. Shame on our government for not inviting him back. Actually we need an annual holiday to cerebrate him. I read The River Between, and let me tell you, that is a masterpiece considering now it was his first! The vivid description in the book is just awesome. Reading it makes you feel like you are living in those days. You visualise the setting so vividly.

    The Kikuyus feel more comfortable speaking in their own language even when the hero belongs to us all Kenyans. Ngugi wathiongo is a kenyan hero.
