Not for EVERY skit tho. Imagine if EVERY skit, EVERY host and or cast member giggled/laughed through all of it. Kinda loses the humor of the writing after the second one. It becomes cringe after a while. Just seems like any other amateur night stage show. That was the annoying thing about Fallon.
I laughed soooo stinking hard when Heidi broke. I thankfully DVRd the episode & have watched that clip a bunch of times & it keeps getting funnier every hysterical time 🤣😭🤣❤️🤣😭🤣
I don't mind when they break character at all. It just shows they're having a good time and the skit is really funny. This was by far the funniest SNL in a long time, giggles and all! 😂
I’m giving the episode the all-time 🏆 award for most cast members-including host-Hilariously Breaking In Every Skit! 😂 Comedy platinum. Also, just as Kate & RG were getting up to do their demonstration for the Alien Abduction sketch, a voice can be heard (Bowen?) commenting in utter disbelief: “Oh…Ryan’s doing this…Omg…OMG.” I guess the cast wasn’t expecting RG to be such an amazing sport to do that crazy bit. 😂
I thought the entire show was hilarious! Ryan did a great job - giggles and all! When I saw the 3 sitting there for the alien abduction skit, I knew there was going to be trouble! I had seen the original skit and knew Kate would do her thing! I had no idea what was to come! I learned new names for body parts! I don’t know how any of them made it through that one! Emily, Kate and Caitlin added so much to a great night! Chris Stapleton was awesome, as well! It was truly one of the best SNL shows ever! And I’ve watched since the show premiered in 1975!
I’m laughing right now just thinking about it!! 🤣🤣🤣 And in spite of all the giggles, Ryan showed a lot of comedic range… It was EPIC from start to finish!!👍🏽
Aside from the adorable breaking and overt Barbenheimer and Fall Guy references, I spotted a few subtler allusions to some of Ryan Gosling's other movies - including Blade Runner 2049 and Gray Man. I'll pay better attention for Easter eggs when the full show streams here tomorrow evening. Maybe somebody else will compile a list first!?
Better yet he hasnt had an appearance where he didnt break...if he doesnt break I dont want him on.. im on my 8th watch of the doctor skit and so happy Kate was available...hopefully he made it to Istanbul safely😂
The doctor sketch would have been vastly funnier if he’d played his “creepy, disturbed” character as it was written. I think the people who love his omnipresent breaking are simply Gosling fans who would enjoy anything he did or said. He’s an awful comedic actor.
Heidi breaking her character was the best time ever last night. Ryan is not my favorite well around actor so I was expecting that but shout out to the costume maker behind the scenes
I think it was partially fun, partially terrible. I think breaking fit perfectly for the beavis one, mainly cause it cracked Heidi up and Gosling creates a relaxed atmosphere. Too much,I think and that's the thing,it becomes one long gigglefest and its impossible to tell when someone cracks a joke. His energy is great but as an snl performer,he sucks on ice.
@@jonathanmcvay4499 Wanting comedy to contain comedy and not just consist of the most known neanderthal trait, laughing cause someone else is laughing without there being a reason to laugh is snobbish? I get the chicks saying that cause they think Ryans cute so him constantly breaking is somehow talented but you're supposed to have a little different criteria. Seen Halloween with Jon Hamm and Will Forte or Jonah Hill clogging or having those anxiety freakouts? If they break in those, the sketch dies. When you break, you make it about yourself and the material is fucked. It's hacky and lazy as shit, the origin of the phrase "You had one job..." It was self-indulgent and boring. Not to say unprofessional. Corpsing is great fun when it becomes impossible to resist the built up tension. Not funny if you laugh from the get-go without even attempting to contain yourself
His breaks detracted from what otherwise were pretty consistently excellent sketches. It seemed performative … or maybe he was a bit too hyped up. I don’t know - but I hope that’s the last time he hosts.
You can't really hold him to account on the cookie crumble one because that was a mess. The wheelchair hitting the other guy's leg made every single person in the skit break. Basically that skit was a crap fest. It's one of them that's so stupid that it actually made me laugh due to the pure stupidity. Too weirdo Zoolander like doctors are spoon feeding each other cookies over top of a patient and then coming out to the waiting room to insist it's not their fault he died, and then sharing their genius idea of ziplock bags full of broken cookies.
I loved the show. Didn’t mind the giggles at all. It was lighthearted & much needed.
Why? Why was it "needed"?
@@be1037 was a very stressful week. It was nice to enjoy a few hours of just laughing 🤣
@@denagetz9894 OK, wondered if you were speaking for "all of us". I thought it was a bunch of pandering. He knew people were expecting him to break.

The best SNL host in awhile. Every skit was funny!
Next to Kristen last week
Nah, that will destroy the great writing of SNL if they had a guy like him laugh thru everything. Makes it about him more than anything.
I don't mind when they break character at all. It just shows they're having a good time and the skit is really funny. This was by far the funniest SNL in a long time, giggles and all! 😂
But how old will it get if a host or cast member did that ALL the time tho? The reason why it's special is becuz it's rare.
This was the funniest/best SNL episode in a long time! More of this, please!!
This was a great episode! I like it when they break character and laugh.
The skits were ridiculous, the funniest. I was laughing along.
I don’t blame him, I would have been too. He was very funny the whole show was!. I was laughing out loud by myself at home 😂❤

Gosling should host every week.
His fake-breaking is annoying as fuck
@@vaeItaja Nah, you’re thinking of Fallon.
@@mikewritz Same issue, unfortunately. They're both giggling through the whole show, even if nothing funny's happening, just to get more attention.

The best ..so funny. I love seeing them break. It makes the skits even funnier.
Heidi's breaking during the Beavis & Butthead sketch will join the list of classic breaks. They must not have had the prosthetics on during dress.
Especially when she saw Mikey dressed as Butthead.

Brilliant snl show !
oh my god i love him and it is even funnier as always cracks up
Sooo funnnuu when they break characters
It was the best episode I have seen in years! Normally I only last 45 minutes before I get bored and change the channel.
Ryan did warn us he was going to break in every skit, but he did a good job
great episode!!

I thought the giggling was fine. Some of the best sketches have giggling,
like Debbie Downer at Disney, or The Right To Extreme Stupidity.

I'm honestly surprised that Lorne puts up with it, only thing I can figure is he makes the ratings jump so Lorne tolerates it.
