1978 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000

Here is a summary of car history:
• 1984: Purchased car used Arizona car with dealer installed A/C (not working)
• ~1992: Removed from service for rust repair and repaint
o Convertible top, all body seals, lights and exterior trim were removed
o Did not re-assemble car at this time
• 2022-2023: Re-assembled car and repaired, replaced or rebuilt components as noted below:
o New Douglas M+S 185/70R14 All Season tires
o New 650 CCA battery
o Rebuilt cranking motor and solenoid (starter)
o Fuel supply system:
 New Bosch electric fuel supply pump
 New rear in-line fuel filter
 All new rubber fuel line hoses
 New front main fuel filter
o Ignition System:
 Replaced both sets of distributor contact points and set ignition timing
 Replaced hi-tension ignition wires and spark plugs
o Fuel Injection system:
 Replaced Injection pump oil filter
 Rebuilt Oil Vapor Separator
 Checked function of Thermostatic Actuator (T/A)
 Replaced idle air hoses and idle adjustment O-ring
 Setup the Spica system via Wes Ingram’s Manual for ALFA SPICA Fuel Injection
o Brakes:
 Rebuilt master cylinder, booster and front and rear calipers
 Replaced front and rear brake pads
 De-rusted front and rear brake discs
 lubed parking brake cables
o Clutch:
 Rebuilt primary cylinder
 Replaced secondary cylinder
o Engine maintenance:
 Oil and filter changed after engine flush
 Replaced air filters
 Replaced coolant
 Checked valve tappet clearance and re-tensioned cam chain
o Chassis:
 Serviced differential, gear box, steering box and drive shaft slip yoke
• Deficiencies:
o Cracked windshield (passenger side)
o Air conditioning not working (R-12 refrigerant)
o Intermittent fuel gage
o Dent in driver’s door (does not affect function)
o Air pump and plumbing available, but not installed

Nice. I have the cousin to this, 1980 Spider 2000 44k original top, leather except paint. Used to drive my first one to work years ago. Have fun!
