    7 BANANA STEM RECIPES
    All recipes are very yummy and healthy too
    banana stem is available easily and cheap also
    Many avoid this thinking that it is difficult
    to clean or it is not tasty.But THIS IS NOT TRUE
    We can easily clean first let us clean and chop
    Banana stems is nature's gift .So Make use of it
    and lead a healthy life
    2tbs curd and 2 to3 cups of water to make
    buttermilk water to soak banana stem
    chopped banana stem is soaked in buttermilk
    to prevent discoloration
    clean the banana stem and discard the two ends
    discard the outer cover of banana stem
    use the center white stem to cook
    chop into thin slices and pull to remove the fibre
    you can make banana stem wicks with this fibre

    stack the round slices and chop it horizontally
    and vertically to chop it finely
    put the chopped banana stem pieces into buttermilk
    The products obtained from banana tree is used
    for cooking .Banana leaf used to eat food
    banana flower is use in cooking and very healthy for

    Ripe banana is rich in potassium and raw banana
    Strengthens bones and prevents cancer

    1.Banana stem Poriyal(Stir fry)
    3tbs oil
    1/2tsp mustard
    1/2tsp urad dal
    2tbs moongdal
    cook till golden brown
    2red chillies
    banana stem 1cup
    curry leaf some
    turmeric 1/4tsp
    pepper powder 2 pinch
    coriander powder 1tsp
    Salt as needed
    close it and cook for 10mins
    water is there to cook .If there is no water in pan ,
    sprinkle water to cook
    banana stem is cooked soft and ready to serve
    This is very simple yet very tasty.
    You can add shredded coconut if you want at this
    stage
    2.banana stem soup
    In a cooker, add 2 tomatoes,few chopped
    curry leaf
    1tbs moong dal soaked 30mins
    ginger garlic paste 1tsp
    banana stem 1cup
    salt as needed
    zeera 1/4tsp
    fennel seeds 1/4tsp
    pepper corns 1/4tsp
    hing 2pinch
    turmeric 1/4tsp
    2cups water
    close and cook in high flame till steam comes.
    when steam comes,keep sim flame,put weight
    cook for 10mins
    open after gas released
    strain the water
    reserve some cooked banana stem to add in soup
    let this cool down and grind it to fine paste
    strain the paste
    this soup is tasty in winter
    heat the strained soup and add some pepper powder
    coriander leaf chopped.Chek salt
    serve hot
    If you want soup to be thick,you can add some corn flour
    paste while cooking soup to thicken
    add banana stems pieces in soup for little crunch
    Incorporating banana stem in different dishes is

    3.Banana stem dosa
    Idly dosa batter 2cups
    banana stem 1cup
    grind to fine paste and add to batter and mix well
    spread the dosa and sprinkle oil
    4.Banana stem cooler drink
    1/4cup coconut
    1cup banana stem
    1/2tsp elaichi powder
    grind and strain it
    repeat it after second time grinding
    This juice is so yummy
    cures mouth ulcer
    It cools the body
    honey 3 tsp
    add ice cubes and serve chill
    5.banana stem dal kootu
    2tbs moong dal
    2tbs channa dal
    wash and soak 30mins
    grind to fine paste
    2tsp oil
    1/2tsp musatrd
    urad dal 1/2tsp
    banana stem 1cup
    hing pinch
    curry leaf
    pinch turmeric
    pepper powder pinch
    1/2tsp coriander powder
    1/4tsp chilly powder
    salt as needed
    ground paste
    1/2cup water
    soaked dals
    keep in high flame .When steam comes,keep in
    sim and put weight .cook for 5mins
    It is a very yummy sidedish
    garnish coriander leaf
    6.Banana stem Masala Buttermilk drink
    1cup banana stem
    curd 2tbs
    few curry leaf
    1inch ginger pieces
    pinch hing
    1/2tsp zeera
    pepper powder 2 pinch
    salt some
    grind once and then add some water and grind
    to fine paste and filter it
    add ice cube if needed
    good for preventing kidney stones and curing
    7.Banana stem curd kootu
    1tbs coconut
    2 green chillies
    zeera 1/2tsp
    ground to fine paste
    3tsp oil
    1/2tsp mustard
    1/2tsp urad dal
    1tsp channa dal
    curry leaf
    banana stem 1 cup
    hing pinch
    turmeric 2pinch
    pepper powder 1pinch
    ground paste
    salt
    keep in high flame .When steam comes, sim the flame
    put weight and cook for 5mins
    let it cool down
