I'm in the uk and have been able to preorder from amazon a sega 6 button controller that is fully wireless and will work with the megadrive (genesis) mini, the original genesis (megadrive) console, switch and pc! Its £40 uk pounds and is released in the uk end of october.
I am super excited for the TG16 mini and cannot wait :), also im pretty happy with the games they chose for the Genesis Mini especially with including Contra Hard Corps, Castlevania Bloodlines, Mega man Wily Wars etc.
The Sega Genesis Mini is great so far. I picked it up the first week it was out. And I got the Sega Saturn 6 button controller made by Retro-Bit and it works great. And yes I will be getting the Turbo-Grafx, PC Engine Mini when it drops next Spring.
That Genesis Mini Tower: I know it has the props, but I take it since you didn't mention it that it didn't have the games of Sonic 3 or Sonic and Knuckles? THAT'S what I find disappointing . It's cool that there's a 3rd party controller with the 6 button input that works with it, and it would be cooler if it works as it's supposed to with the included Street Fighter title and whatnot, but without those two titles I don't think that I would pay extra for non-working props and nothing more to show for it.
Hey MJR I just wanna say that my brother and I just started watching your videos and they have been the highlight of our day. Ill have to get back to you on that one but for now I would love to know if you ever played or owned sunset riders!
Definitely picking up the TG16 mini once its released. The SNES was my favorite console of all time but the TG16 is a very close second. I have so many great memories tied to that system and I always loved the aesthetics, so I'd enjoy having a mini of it even if I'm not always playing it.

Are you going to have a separate video for the Genesis Mini itself? it seemed to have been rushed over in this video and I believe your audience (well at least myself) would love to see a more detailed overview of the console from your perspective. Loved your coverage of the Tower of Power though :-)
I think it's important to note that the NES and SNES mini also had audio delay. In the case of the NES it was pretty significant. If I'm ranking these mini consoles the Genesis mini is probably the best of the group so far. They didn't leave many details out. Yeah 6 button controllers would be nice but man, overall Sega actually did it right and I'm really impressed.
If they ever did a 'Sega Master System' mini console (SMS was my first console), I'd get that. It had its own versions of many Mega drive games, inc Sonic 1&2, Castle of Illusion etc. and those are the ones I remember and would want to play, not the Genesis/Mega Drive versions. Of all the mini consoles released so far, I've only been semi-interested in the PS1 as I also owned that system. But given that the PS3 can play PS1 discs, if I wanted to play my old PS games I could. The others I have limited nostalgia for, only some NES games that I played at my friend's house. I played some of the NES & SNES games included with Switch online, and mostly just for a few minutes at most.

Cool. You bought on Play-Asia. A bit cheaper than flying to Japan LOL I have the Japanese version of the mini and do plan top get the TG-16 when it is released.
It's a great little mini system, but one thing I don't like is the lack of filters, I don't like the standard pointy pixels and the CRT filter does nothing for me either.. in the UK I don't ever recall CRTs having scanlines like these mini systems have, our CRT displays were more like a standard bilinear filter, I don't know if it was to do with our higher resolution screens (576i), but no mini system so far has been able to replicate the same displays I had back in the day and we definitely didn't have horrible massive scanlines
It would have been awesome if they had have made the SegaCD section work, and when you opened it, there was a massive SSD inside with all the SegaCD games included.

I certainly am interested in that PC Engine Core Grafx mini just for Snatcher alone. Granted, that one is the Japanese PC Engine CD version, but i'll take it, considering that there hasn't been a re-release of Snatcher since the Sega Saturn/PS1 port. Plus, that version is very much a parallel to the Western Sega Mega-CD anyways.
Those look like full blueprints and schematics....you could probably 3D print and custom make the devices from those documents if they are complete and 100% accurate.
i got the megadrive classic, opened it, played it for 10 minutes, put it back in box and is now on shelf next to the other mini consoles......even if i buy this, will mostly keep it in box next to the sega mini also.....
I have a question for you. I know im not a patreon supporter (sorry not financially feasible for my life at the moment), however i was wandering if either you've herd of or played Neo Atlas 1469 for the Nintendo Switch. I found the PEGI/PAL version at my local gamexchange in Oklahoma and bought it on a whim. It looks interesting, however i was wanting to find out more about the game. Like I said i know i don't have priority, and am not wanting to upset the apple cart so to speak, however i was hoping you might know something about it or if you have any thoughts on it.

the best part is, that mini model 1 sega CD plays CDs about as well as the original did
I certainly am interested in that PC Engine Core Grafx mini just for Snatcher alone.
Cool man. I really hope they bring this out in N.A. love my mini with six buttons!
Does anyone know if the TurboGrafx mini has an official release date?
Irie Island Gaming march 2020
@@littymj7599 Awesome! Thank You!
Irie Island Gaming No problem
Awesome video! I plan to get the Mega SG and the Genesis mini soon!
Great video! See you next weekend man! First beer on me! 🤙🏿
6:09 I really want to get ahold of the upcoming one for the genesis and saturn.
i got the megadrive classic, opened it, played it for 10 minutes, put it back in box and is now on shelf next to the other mini consoles......even if i buy this, will mostly keep it in box next to the sega mini also.....
I have not heard of this game for Switch. Was it physical?!
I thought this was a troll at first. Also, you need the life support cords, the 3 separate power outputs
I've always been a loyal Sega fan. Genesis (Mega Drive here in Brazil.) Was huge here. It's a shame they don't make consoles anymore.
Does someone know, what the music notes on the last page are? Too many notes for just SEEEEEGAAA... Wanna hear that tune!
Metal Jesus: Get your guitar out and play!!!
Please like the comment so that he sees it! Thanks!
Been holding off and hoping they sell the Sega Genesis tower version because I really don’t like the “mega drive” logo branding.
Latency was never an issue while playing. Just the D pad is a bit different than the original genesis controller. Still feels great but could see buying a six button controller down the road.
Just out of curiosity, will you do an update to this video if Sega does release this in the States? Love to have this in my own collection...
Random: I beat Phantasie last night on the Commodore 64. ROM of course. But still is fun. 👍
Would be awesome if the tower of power comes to the US too! Can only imagine people seeing that thing!
