Producers: "So how badass do you want the scene to be?
SWCC & 160th SOAR: "Yes"
Correct me if I''m wrong, but apparently, SOP for SWCC deployment is boat on the water, then crewmen rappels down to boat instead of what they did in this scene which is rappel down to boat, then boat on the water (which is more badass).
@urbypilot2136 that sounds about right. Hollywood tends to tweak things from reality ESPECIALLY military SOP's to make it look better on screen.
@@urbypilot2136that actually makes sense
Nightstalkers!
@@urbypilot2136 Actually the way they do it in the film makes more sense when you consider their enemy could be hiding in the Jungle waiting for the Chinooks to do exactly as you described. Dropping down while the boat is a few feet above the water means that as soon as the hull is in the water they can release the lines and the Chinooks can leave without ever stopping. This is the single most dangerous part of a Heliborne deployment after all. The moment they stop moving.
Besides, relative to the Chinook, the boats aren't 'moving', so there's no real risk. If someone falls, they land in a specific part of the boat, rather than on something important like the controls because the pilot made a slight error and drifted forward a few feet.
The minigun extraction scene in this movie is literally the most awe inspiring weapon engagement scene in any movie I've ever seen.
Totally agree, complete denial of access by absolute overwhelming firepower.
That HOT EXTRACT was off the hook! Came rushing in,guns blazing!
@@ergausFire superiority in 0.01 seconds or less.
I’ve rewatched it numerous times over the years. I’ve never been military. Sends chills down my spine
No one talks about the 160th SOAR... That was an impressive flying
These guys are called The Nightstalkers. The ate my neighbors here in Kentucky. It is fun wat thing them hover choppers an inch above Kentucky Lake, drop the.back door and boat ome out of a. Ove and just slide right in.... That is wha thg these guys do fir fun and practice before breakfast
Uhhhh ... not really that impressive if you watched the video
@@qualehdialmedillu7264 really then you do it.
@@qualehdialmedillu7264 Hovering helicopters is extremely hard, especially while people fast rope out and weight is redistributed. The fact that it's being done over a river, flying that low, is actually pretty impressive imo.
how did you know it was soar?
These Boat Guys are awesome. They provide maritime security transport for spec ops. Credits to the Nightstalkers too for flying in those guys.
Good ole “wive stalkers” we use to call them at Campbell.🤣🤣🤣

One of my favorite scenes from the movie, second only to when they roll up on the “hot extract”, miniguns blazing
Nobody: Badest Uber 🔥🔥👌🏾🔥
Whiplash: Your welcome
Currently in naval special operations, but I’m in AIRR. However I know a lot of people that are in SWCC and I haven’t heard one guy say that it isn’t the most badass job they’ve ever had.
Those fast-attack boats are the truth.
Absolutely great movie and the use of all live ordnance definitely adds to it. I had time in the CH-46. and it was a very stable platform in a hover. From talking to some of the Army guys I know that had CH-47 time they said the same thing. Guess it has something to do with the tandem rotor configuration. Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!
The branches all knock each other but at the end of the day, this is what it’s all about. Army hauls in SWCC, extracts the SEAL team, rescues the CIA operative, shit kicks the bad guys’ asses with holy hellfire.
Different branches, same mission
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10
SWCC are SEALS! Same initial selection process from which succesful candidates are streamed into "Team", "SWCC" etc. Im so impressed by this - all have same ethos from day one.
@@djd8305 I kind of understood SWCC are SEALS but never fully understood how it worked.
0:28 WAIT Hold ON, let me finish up my chewing gum before we drop.😂😂😂😂
Those SOAR pilots yank and bank those big Chinooks with a huge boat hanging off it like they are flying a “little bird”. Amazing talent!
And what nobody is noticing is that they are carried in by none other than the 160th SOAR out of Ft. Campbell, KY.
Damn Straight...the 160th and the SWCC team supoorting seal team 3!!!! Go team...this will be a hot extract!
Ursa Minor I'm reasonably certain those are Crazyhorse Airlines birds, specifically.
Yes, crazy nightstalkers for sure!
And my company makes the jets on those SWCC boats.
soar4fun I thought it was SEAL TEAM 7.
Do you realize just how amazing this capability is? Huge props to all these guys!
Impressive. Special warfare teams where the “sum of the parts” are greater than the whole. Thanks to all in this community regardless of the color of your beret.
One of the best, realistic scenes i have ever seen in a movie.
You know this was a one shot take scene.
If you missed it, it wasnt coming out type of scene
there was a lot of awesome 1 shot take scenes like the submarine. Really love this movie just because of the scenes itself.
Considering this was shot here in America, I’m going to guess they had the latitude to do it more than once.
Just did a rewatch, I love that the editors stayed true to the realism. Whiplash said one minute out, 59.999 seconds later Whiplash is in the water and out!
I'm a pilot but being a SOAR is just a whole new breed.
There is a part of the 'behind the scenes' soundtrack where Mouse McCoy (the director/co-writer) sees them loading 7,000 rounds onto the boats. He asked if this was special, the SWCC coxain looks at his watch and says no...it's just Wednesday morning. PEACE THROUGH SUPERIOR FIREPOWER! I grew up in Coronado, and the SEALS I talked to would say the ideal SEAL mission you would only knew when stuff blew up the next day! If they have to open the ball on someone they respond with OPVERWHELMING FORCE AND VIOLENCE (a 12 man SEAL platoon has FOUR machine guns, four grenade launchers and EVERYONE has an M-4), the most dangerous guy on a SEAL platoon? The guy with radio(s) he has the 'finger of god' on the other end!
Peace through firepower. Lol.
Something so psychotic and evil....it can only be spewed be an American
Love the sound of that engine firing up. Imagine having 2 440 HP Diesels on your bass boat.
You should try water-skiing behind one!

ABSOLUTELY!!! I enlisted in 96 and couldn't finish bootcamp, but my goal was THE TEAMS. I hate I didn't far. But this movie is EVERYTHING to me. I'll be a SEABEE/FROGMAN in heart and spirit til I die!
I've seen this movie a million times and I still kinda 😢 at the end during the funeral
I wouldn’t want to be fishing without a license on that river!😮
A great and very under rated movie IMO
I went and watch this movie 4 times. Love it
The water been blown away by the powerful Chinook. My favorite scene in the movie.

Showboating Navy SEALS make the ten thousandth movie about how cool they are, and the SWCCC boats give the best scene in the whole thing. You know the SEALS were cursing the SWCCC's and throwing their hair gel and mousse in fit's of rage...
Bro all the main character seals were bald
I remember one seal i was talking to saying that in the 90s the swcc guys were just folks that couldn't make the seal teams.

I would wanna ride in the boats the whole time, even/especially when they are being hauled by the Chinooks.
I am too impressed for words!
Plot twist: they get the boats in the water only to realize they left the keys at the base. Movie over. Roll credits.
All Hail the Special Warfare Operators! Thank you United States!
Bad ass!! No mess with them.
Dude that is some fucking awesome flying.
Outstanding, Sir! Outstanding!
The guy with the IN GOD WE TRUST tag on his helmet was like "I wish this was not just a movie scene, I wish it was real life but at the same time it's so exciting".
Well fortunately for him he does it in real life. Practically all the personnel in this movie are the real deal or did do it at one point. Those crew chiefs in the movie are actual 160th SOAR members.

Most combat scenes in SPR are downright bullshit. People getting pierced by bullets ten feet under water when any bullet would stop dead right after having hit the surface? One sniper shooting the other through the scope when vision is diminished by heavy rain? A sniper quoting the bible while shooting instead of effin' focussing on his shots? Come on!
Anytime Anywhere Anyhow
Hooya swcc
Thankyou
Look so cool!
Just some good ol’ boys goin’ fishin ‘…
Man, they need to drop the competitors at The Bassmaster Classic on the water like that. Hell, I'll drop my Ranger from ten feet or so..why not? A few cans of that sht the goofy-ass dude on TV sells and I'm good.

medal of honor warfighter vibes
When I was in basic I tried to get in to SWCC but my Chief said I couldn’t since I had already volunteered for sub duty
Hey, my ol'man was a sonotech on a sub. I'm sure many SEALs will publicly boast how badass they are... but quietly acknowledge the sub crews as being just that little bit braver than they. After all... if a SEAL takes a hit, he can be evacuated, treated, and may even return to the fight. But if a sub takes a hit... well... we saw what happened to Titan...
Don't bully Boaty McBoatface or you will have to deal with his two cousins.
This is standard procedure for gun boats. Besides, why do rappelling while the whole thing is flying. Better wait for the boat touch sea. :P
🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥
I want this sequence reshoot in Russian style 😂 😂

I wonder who or how they get rid of the ropes after the helo cuts slingload. Y'know to keep it from getting caught up in the boat engine.
