Well it's also worth mentioning that she's both gotten older and hasn't done the role for over 12 years. It's unlikely she could perfectly emulate the voice after this long.
I know but the inflections for Ash are totally new to me because the original show never did this kind of sarcastic, self-aware humor. Ash has never had to be sarcastic or point out the obvious before, so his voice has never done this type of inflecting before. It even sounded out of character (and it was, but that's not the point). It was fascinating and new to listen to.
Stealthlock well in the kanto arc he had some leanings toward sarcasm and self awareness before he changed but yeah i got what you mean and it sounded quite nice

It's almost like the reverse happens in the show. With how often they fail to recognize Team Rocket, Jesse and James could probably just wear T-shirts over their uniforms and Ash and the others would never realize it was them. Lucky for them, Team Rocket is even more incompetent than the heroes.

One of the few things 4kids knocked out of the park in almost every way was Pokemon's US dub, from the hilarity of team rocket to the voice acting to the most awesome theme song known to man. Taylor was a big part of that success.

-Walking through a road. Behind the carcasses of a thousand dead ratatas , pidgies and caterpees
-Actually uses DIVE
-Give powers to pokemon via CD´s
-Call your pokemon "Lil´bitch" and have an old man congratulate you on it
-Most people in the road just want to fight you, after you defeated them their souls leave their bodies and they just stand there only able to say one thing
-There are parallel universes with slithly different pokemons per zone
-One shoting most of the people you cross paths with and not forming anykind of bond because none of them where remotely interesting and insted were just a minor speed bump and a major anoyance in your desire to get from point A to point B

ILLuminated Onxy Mechanically it's so you don't get into a battle with a fully fainted team.
It's just funny and unnecessary, though. They could just show the next screen that says your character ran to the Pokémon Center.
They DID do that in at least one of the later games, UltraKirby123. -(I want to say it was gen 4, but don't quote me on that.)- It even mentions you paying prize money to the victor if you lose to a trainer, and inconveniently "dropping" the same amount in panic if you lost to a wild mon. ;^)
_How exactly one "rushes" to the Pokémon Center if they were using Surf or Dive with an unconscious Pokémon is anyone's guess, though._ Come to think of it, how does one, trainer or Pokémon, survive blacking out in the middle of the ocean anyway? Does a passing swimmer drag you back to shore and raid your wallet before he leaves you at the Poké Center?
Maybe it's so you can be at the Pokemon center sense all of your Pokemon was knocked out never mind I sound stupid trying to make sense of it

I think they got cheap and decided to get voice actors with less expensive contracts.
A bit late, but I have at least one answer that may or may not be simple and clear as day: back in the day, pokemon was dubbed by the infamous company known as 4kids, and Veronica Taylor is one voiceover artist who worked for them. Long stort short, they lost the rights to dub the show. In case there are people who don't know: the company went out of business some time ago.

The extremely casual level of Pokemon Ash battles on also has to account for level advantage, which is never consistent in the anime.
Also accuracy/evasion. That thoroughly broken stat Game Freak made to reduce the need for being skilled at the game that the anime just BS' its way through by making trainers yell _'dodge it'_ .

Yeah, charizard's mega forms can actually be quite good. Given a suitable team, and that you know how to play it of course.
@@ezman-vn8zy not to mention, fire dragon is a great typing, better than fire/flying and dragon/flying, so Charizard...(X?) gets also a rather big type advantage.
