OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! Jess ever since you started talking about books on your main channel I was hoping you would start a book channel!!!! I love you so much and I’m so glad you are starting this!!! 💕❤️💖💘🫶
I always wished you would talk more about the books you are reading and your favorites. So I love this idea of the new channel. Thank you! And please keep posting all about your readings 🥹😍🥰💛🙏🏻
Secret Channel Squad✌🏼 I love that you made this new channel, super excited for all of the extra Jess Content ❤️ I also read The Bodyguard last month and it became one of my favorite books of all time. It was just super cute 💕 I would recommend you read Sarah Adams books. They are pretty much closed door and super cozy. The Cheat Sheet, When in Rome and Practice makes perfect have been my favorites by her.
omgg didn't expect you to create the new channel so soon but yay! book content makes so much sense for youu! excited for more videos and maybe a library room tour in the future?👀💛
I truly loooooved "Selection". I've read every single book from that series. I would recommend reading them all because it gives a much wider perspective.
Timestamp, if anyone needs it: 1:12 - The Holiday Switch 3:20 - The Bodyguard 6:26 - Love & Other Words 9:54 - Rock Paper Scissors 11:50 - Hello Stranger Alsooo, I can't wait for more book videos from Jess! Ohmygosh, so happy she's finally starting this one
Absolutely love how you shared your January books. And the Pinterest photos is such a great visual idea. You’ve motivated me to get into reading. And I’m reading the sample of The Bodyguard. 🙌
I loved this video!! I just finished the bodyguard this week and got hello stranger today. I LOVED the bodyguard too, so it was so cool to see you had also just read this!
I’ve been watching you since you and Gabe started your vlog channel together. I am a HUGE reader. Read around 100 books a year and love book tube. I followed your Goodreads the first time you mentioned it on your other channel. Im so glad you now make these videos!
I'm SO excited for this new channel!!! I'm SO happy you're going for it and putting out more content that's just about you and that makes you happy, it's so inspiring, I can't wait to see more, I've missed just YOU!!
I am so excited for this channel!!! I watch so much booktube and book content so the fact that my favourite UA-camr is making book content is so exciting!!! Can’t wait for more videos :))
Yay so excited for this!! Also the Selection series is my all time favorite, read it at least 5 times at this point!! First read I was 14 though, so it probably gives me the nostalgia vibes - hoping it's just as good reading it for the first time in your 20s!!
I never comment but I wanted to recommend the book and series Beartown. Probably one of the most well-written, emotional, powerful books I have ever read. I reread this series at least once a year and will always always recommend it! Also so glad you decided to make this channel!!
Yesss I love that you’re doing more content just for fun. You should keep the podcast up and maybe do devotional or bible studies or literally anything!
i was thinking to start reading fictions this year and have started with ‘Forty Rules of Love’ and am loving it so far. Thank you Jess for starting this book channel. 🫶🏻
Loving this! I recently got back into reading so this is so exciting (it was a book you had recommended that re-sparked my joy for reading!). Anyway, this channel is so exciting, can’t wait for more ❤
I am so happy we have more of Jess!! You are such an inspiration to me a 24 year old. I hope to be as kind, thoughtful, and loving as you. Thank you for giving us more of you!
LOVE! I was hoping you would start posting book content since I heard you talking about it on the podcast! Soooo excited for more content on this channel!!
The algorithm showed me this and i got so confused because it was another channel and I was like huh??? LOLLLL Loved the thumbnail! It actually seems like a different set up than usual videos and I do feel you are going to attract new viewers with this new content series and channel
love this new channel Jess!! & also that's how I felt about love & other words as well, since I'm also Christian I love reading romance but don't like the spice so I try to not read any Christina Lauren books since most of them are filled with spice!
The selection is great Jess! You will love it. Not really a spoiler but it can get kinda sad and crazy. My favourite is a tie between the first book and the third 😊
Yesss!! Was hoping the secret channel would be about books! 📚💚 A couple of books I loved reading last year: - The Last Tale of the Flower Bride (Roshani Chokshi) - Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries (Heather Fawcett) - The Reading List (Sara Nisha Adams) - The Stationary Shop (Marjan Kamali) Currently, my favourite book is Babel by R.F. Kuang. Such an interesting story, unlike anything I’ve ever read.
@@miraculouslyperfect3890I’d love to! I’ve tried multiple times to post a lengthy comment with information about each book but somehow, when I refresh the page, the comment is gone 🥲. I really recommend you check Goodreads for synopses of the books and reviews (beware of spoilers) and search for content warnings for each book just to be sure!
I’ve tried multiple times yesterday and today to respond to your comment with some information about each book but somehow YT doesn’t post it 🥲 I’d love to give a little overview but after so many tries I give up 🤷♀️. I’m sorry. Goodreads usually has pretty good overviews and reviews of books. Hope dit comment comes through.
@@miraculouslyperfect3890 giving it one last try! 😊 I learned from trying so many times and copied the last version of my comment to my notes app. I'll paste it here. Hopefully this comes through! I'd love to give you a tiny overview of each book but I'm not the best writing synopses. For a general overview I'd recommend you check Goodreads. Also, please look up the trigger warnings for each book before you pick it up. For each book I've written a 'read [title book] if you...' recommendation so you can see wether it fits your taste. Read 'The last take of the flower bride' if you: like mysteries; like fantastical stories where you're constantly wondering if your reading a fantasy novel or just looking inside the minds of girls obsessed with fairytales; want to read about characters that make you feel all kinds of emotions (at one point one really got under my skin); want to read beautiful prose; like gothic vibes; prefer stand-alone books/stories. Read 'Emily Wilde's encyclopaedia of faeries' if you: are looking for a cozy fantasy story with a some romance; like stories set in Scandinavia; are into faeries; like stories with academic undertones (but are not quite in the dark academia genre); can relate to an introverted main character; prefer a series of books (trilogy, second book just came out). Read 'The reading list' if you: like books about books; are ok with reading about difficult topics like loneliness and grief but that is wrapped in a cozy setting (difficult to describe this); like different storylines that come together at some point in the book; like stories set in the London suburbs; want to read a book with Hindi (Indian-English) main characters; prefer stand-alone books. Read 'The stationery shop' if you: like historical fiction; like romance; want to read about Iranian history, culture and main characters; like reading stories where two timelines interchange each other; want to read a sad/bittersweet story that might make you cry (I sobbed); prefer stand-alone books/stories. Read 'Babel' if you: like magical realism/historical fantasy/urban fantasy and the dark academia genre; are looking for a book that makes you think about colonialism, racism and revolution; want a book containing a mix of characters (ethinically/racially); want to read a book set in Oxford, England; a book that makes you sob (I've never cried so much reading a book); prefer stand-alone books/stories. Hope this helps 💚
Jess can you make a video about how you find time to read books or how you incorporate them into your routine. Finding the time to read a book for me is difficult...I would appreciate some tips ❤ thanks
I love love love that you've started this new channel! One of my favourite books ever is The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo! I would absolutely recommend and think you would like it based off of the stories you read. It's a romance story but there's an underlying question as to something that's happened, but they give you little nuggets throughout to help clue you up.
The Selection was one of my favourite series I read during high school as a teenager. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! Am currently re-reading The Right Move by Liz Tomforde and it’s such a good book! I think you’d love it too. The romance is so beautiful and gives off a whole vibe about “quiet love”. I was still stuck in this book for days after I finished it because it was that good
I love this video sooo much!!! I have a series suggestions, could you do a deep dive type/book club type of video where you talk in-depth about what you thought of a book. Maybe you would have to put spoiler alerts but I would love to hear what you think and chat in the comments with others
15:32 make sure to read Everyone in My Family has Killed Someone before Everyone on this Train is a Suspect! I haven’t read the 2nd one yet but the first was great!
